That's my friend, Larry. A fine, gentleman who's a real pro musician. Looking forward for more video tutorials on controlling MJPro with guitar. Thanks
Ketron is good stuff. The problem with Ketron is they don`t seem to want to sell in Australia. Their Sydney distributor don`t stock them ``but would contact Ketron in Italy``, after 3 times in vain contacting the dealer , they had received no response from Italy, I gave up but I asked Ketron Italy on Facebook where I could the SD40 in Sydney they took 7 weeks to reply and told me to contact some dealer in the USA. WOW, not quite next door. I bought a Roland BK7M in stead and am quite happy.
Hi Larry I was very impressed with your vid, you also mentioned the Roland BK-7m, will the OMB guitar that I seen you playing on another video control the BK7-m as well as the Ketron mid-jay, thanks
Absolutely, one of the best demos of the Ketron MidJay Pro I’ve seen (not done by AJ). Of course, I’m prejudice because I own one and concur with everything that’s being shown in this video. This guy is an excellent teacher!!!!
you do great videos. I play a casio midi guitar into a Roland RA90 but it sounds dated and is playing up. I play mostly 60's and Eagles music at home and wish to upgrade- happy to buy used equipment. I am bewildered by choice. What is the difference between a Ketron SD40 or lounge or Midjay? I have seen Ketron x4's for sale as well as korg i5 and i40 as well as Roland BK7m. Do you have any advice please? Regards.....Steve
SD40/Midjay have the full Arranger/styles, while the Lounge does not (drums and bass only which you play manually). Now, when you say 'used' equipment, I hope you are not choosing this because of price but because of content, since the KETRON prices barely depreciate even when used. A lot of folks fall into this 'trap'. Unlike other manufacturers who release products every 3-4 years on average, KETRONs products cycle is 7-8 years.
Hi, Could someone please help me. I have a Ketron Mid jay Pro and I love it. On some midi tracks the ballad types there is a strange sound like someone blowing a rasberry !! on the Lower /Orch side. If I slide the slider to the bottom it stops. Any ideas what might be causing it ? Thanking you.
You can go to the DRUM Mixer and adjust the Drum instruments as needed or better still, go to the GM mixer and adjust levels for ALL 16 tracks. If you are refering to styles, the same can be accomplished from STYLE VIEW. If this is impacting ONLY the lower chords, then this means your accordion is sending in some data to 'trigger' whatever voice is currently selected for that instrument so please check once you select the style.
Here is a country demo:- ruclips.net/video/J3KtKLrmloQ/видео.html Here is another country demo on the keyboard version (American Shuffle 1 and 2):- ruclips.net/video/lAGfNFvsUic/видео.html
I just love the sound of your guitar, is that from the effects in the Midjay Pro?. If so, would you show to to get that wonderful sound from the machine
Yes it is. A demo of how is following soon. This feature allows you to be able to 'jump' to any part of the music - great when playing a midifile and just as the song is coming to an end, that's when the dancers decide to pack the dance floor!
Yes ... but not on the machine. You will have to do them on your external software like protools and then once the file is brought into the unit, you can use them.
BRAVI! EXCELENT!!! WHOLE LIFE I SPENT TO GET THIS INFO. I HAVE MIDY PRO AND ROLAND GR55. PLEASE TELL ME IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLAY CHORDS ON GUITAR AND STYLES FROM MIJAYPRO ON MY EQUIPEMENT LIKE YOU PLAY?BEST WISHES AND REGARDS! TOMAZ FROM SLOVENIJA.
Yes it is possible. Simply go to MENU - MIDI - Standard- Arranger Keyboard, RX and set GLOBAL = 1. Everything else should be off. Now on your ROLAND, go to it's Midi Menu and set the Midi Channel Transmition to GLOBAL -1. Remember both channels must match! When powering on, turn on the ROLAND first, then once it is fully booted, turn back on the Midjay Pro (thanks for the resurations).
Hi Larry, I notice you’re playing a Godin. So, are you connected with the thirteen pin or quarter inch, or both? I would like more info about the unit’s availability and cost. Also does it have the capacity to work in the jazz genre? Thanks in advance for your responses.
Both. The 1/4" carries the usual Guitar signal which can further be processed in the Midjay Pro (without external stomp boxes). The 13 pin connects to the Guitar Synth and comes out as 5 pin DIN MIDI cable which then connects into the back of the Midjay pro MIDI IN jack.
I'm 70 now and used to Play the Auto Orchestra R16 then went to computer & midi..If I purchased the Ketron Midijay, What pedals would I need to start with? Also playing the guitar I would need to control the system.. What kind of price can you give me if I purchased from you?
@@AjamSonic send me an email.. Need to know what I need.. I have midi music and others but would like to have the Music follow me.. I owned an Auto Orchestra years ago. Nothing like what is out now.. Wish you had reached out to us earlier, however the BK7m can also satisfy your needs. The KETRON edge is in the live sounds and styles.

Does your guitar plug directly into the unit for effects?, and also does your guitar with midi pickups plug straight into the unit for arranger mode
Yes. Guitar plugs direclty into the back of the unit (GUITAR/LINE IN) for the effects.

Yes ... however the Audya 4 does not have Guitar effets/stomp boxes. These newer machines do :-)
