  • First off, Lorus is a division or sub-brand of Seiko. It's probably better known in Europe than the United States. Having that Seiko connection caused me to take a look at their offerings and I quickly noticed that most are inexpensive watches with the bulk being quartz.
Then I noticed this "Diver Style" watch. For about $146 USD, it looked like it was worth closer inspection. It's an automatic with a 42mm case, 100 meters water resistance and good looks on a Jubilee-style bracelet. Was it worth the money? Did it meet expectations? To find out, you'll have to Watch It!

just bought the green one for 60GBP, unless you go Aliexpress no established brand sells you a automatic watch for that price. its a great beater watch, makes a fantastic starter watch for those seeking to start a watch collection.

Invicta Pro Diver has a better Seiko movement, real dive bezel, twice the WR for less. There are more options available at that price or just a little more. Seiko screws their own loyal customers by deliberately choosing to sell them inferior products.

My watch's size is 16 and this watch is 42 mm. I wonder if it will be too big?

I don't know for sure. The lug-to-lug is decent so it just may work for you?

As odd as it sounds, I think there is some nostalgia for this old movement. It was in the SKX007. The Seiko Shuffle doesn't seem so bad now. After all, it is a Seiko.

Then why can you get an Invicta Pro Diver with an NH35, 200m WR, 120 click bezel for $85 yet a this Seiko product has a 7S26, 100m, and a fixed bezel (with admittedly better brushing) for $140?

Like very much this blue color. BUT it is not 40mm It is a 42mm case. The big size and the fixed bezel, unfortunately, makes it suitable only for the trash bin.

Quite right on it being 42mm instead of 40mm. I mistyped it in the description, but got it right in the video itself. Good catch!

It would make good gift for a teenager just starting in watches.
