Excellent addition to your collection Zach. I like your layout, it shows not only your engine but the train the engine is working very well. Thanks! ~Ken
The triplex is awesome! Whenever it chugs by you cant help but get mesmerized by all those moving and spinning wheels and rods. Very cool addition to the fleet!
That Erie Triplex is a stunning beast, Zach! Lucky you. You've been able to restore its appearance perfectly. The whistle and bell sounds are really nice and powerful, like the chuff of the engine in motion. All those wheels being articulated as it moves on the rails is great to watch. Thanks for sharing your good fortune.
Great video on the triplex. You make me proud that I have one. Yours smoke a little better than mine. To mention that is one of the more favorite of MTH engines. You ha e shown some great scenes in running through your lay out. Do like to ask you have ever run it faster than you have shown on the video. I have found that when I do the smoke unite quits. Thanks again to take the time in showing this nice MTH engine.
MTH was willing to push the limit of what could be made. As a Pennsy fan I loved their willingness to do the short lived and rare electrics of the northeast, like the L5, FF1 big Liz and FF2. Honesty, stuff that I didn’t even know I needed until they made it. Even in Ho scale this stuff is hard to find.
What a beautiful engine! Great video Zac! I just love that smoke stack on the rear of the tender. That looks very cool. The PS2 sounds sound excellent too. I look forward to seeing more of this engine running around your layout.
Thanks, Zach, for a great experience. That Tri is absolutely a feature-rich beauty. Nice restoration, too. When that nose swings out on turns, it's a real tree trimmer. lol. Well done!
Hi zack that mth triiplex boy what a great engine you have there . i have a question for you where did you get your ballest it looks great im doing mine over but wood land scenic only has small bundles and very expensive thank you bob
Thanks for completing my Erie day. I drove by 3 Wheeling and Lake Erie engines in Toledo. I rode the Cedar Point & Lake Erie R.R. The I watched your Erie Triplex. Thats an ERIE set of circumstances. 😮
Zack often said he was just average at landscaping and modeling. In fact, he is very, very good. Just hope I can do as well on my new trainboard and subsequent videos are as good as zack produces. Gary
Zack, Im posting my 3rd video, inspired by you, RBP, and chris. Its so much fun to watch the many videos from you guys. Im trying hard, so much time, things to learn, skills to develop, but after seeing what you guys share, its so worth it. Im constantly amazed by how often you surprise me with unexpected, and very well done content. much appreciated. Im trying to hang in there. Gary
A great find, Zach. This is a keeper for sure. Don’t think Lionel can do a better job than MTH other than a better sound. MTH had better details. Love it.
Awesome engine! Had a cat named Spaz, a real attention seeker. I come in from outside and Spaz, was laying 💠 de my O- scale warren truss bride on the layout and barely fit.
yes, I like when Cris and Zack gives us some videos. Im trying to produce some videos on my own new channel and it certainly takes a lot of time, effort and skill. Their efforts are much appreciated. Gary
Big fan of the Erie Railroad as it was the one that ran in my hometown. Love, love the Triplex. So unique. Appreciate the honest review and covering the issues you dealt with after picking up the engine. Turtle Wax makes several good products and to boot, they're reasonably priced. Keep the video's coming.
Good morning Victor from New Jersey nice piece good shout out to JD I watch that big 30 the other day very cool glad you got that very cool you had some problems but you worked out like a man cuz looking out enjoy it bro very nice looking piece I love it say hello to the wife
Love that engine. I run into that programming issue when I take my engines to the club layout, they want to program to the slot they were in most recently in the other system. My Y6 goes to slot 28 in the club layout and slot 4 on my layout, and it won’t run when I take it home. I reprogram it and it goes to slot 28, I change its address to the lowest unoccupied slot and it’s good to go. So it may have had that issue because it had been previously programmed to a different slot in its previous owner’s remote. Purely speculation though lol. Congrats on it though, glad it’s working good for you!
Great engine Zach. I have one myself I got at York a few years ago for a great price. Ran great for 3 laps around the layout and the board went. Replaced with PS3 and ran for a month when all the internals were lost. It’s now a dummy engine I use for a doubleheader. Maybe one day I’ll try another one. Nice to see it sounding and smoking like a beast. Good luck with it.
I’m sorry to hear that! Maybe possible to install an ERR kit into it?? I know the PS3 upgrade kits are almost impossible to find anymore… was worrying about that when this one was acting up…
You never babble too much. I enjoy the bit of history you provide with the actual loco, and the model makers history. The back story on the loco is also enjoyable as is your efforts to correct found issues. Beneficial for collectors/operators. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, Huge Derailment on the overpass on my street yesterday. Put 2 tankers in the street below. 4/6 spread across the bridge and 20/30 off the track. Had 3 other crossings blocked for a while. One hit a power pole and parts of the city was without power for a couple hrs....Crews working thru the night to CLEAN UP! Jason would get a kick out of this it's Norfolk and Southern!!
Train whistle signals: 0: stop ==0=: grade crossing 000: backing up 0000000: danger I know some trains do a special whistle/horn salute: Shave and a haircut, two bits. Can you do those?
Hey Zach thanks for the video. I have to agree that the triplex maybe the most popular MTH engine, maybe more then big boys. I'm looking for one, she is beautiful. Hope you enjoy and if you ever want to get rid of her let me know and I'll gently take her off your hands.
It's an awesome engine for sure. I wonder "what if" Erie would have designed and used a pt-4 tender for it, such as the one used on the NYC Niagras and also had an auxilliay tender such as the N&W type. It would have solved the water and tractive effort issue and would have been an awesome O gauge engine.
Zach Victor from New Jersey love the triplex. Unfortunately my hernia got the best of me I'm going in for surgery today I won't be able to make it to York I was so looking forward to see all you guys I wasn't sure if you were going to make it I was hoping you guys keep me going no I won't be able to visit you guys till spring I got to get this thing taken care of when I come home and start working on my layout while I'm healing I'm going to be thinking of is York in the spring just want you to know I really appreciate all you guys you get me through my day when I'm having a bad time especially you dude . Like right now your triplex video popped on and all I did was start laughing when you said it commands it pretty hefty price tag I love your dialogue dialects I'm not sure which way to go with that one you know the way you speak I'm a downright New York New Jersey guy so I speak a certain way it's not the defensive though I love it I laugh at you and RP it's another one of my guys who makes me laugh but I'm looking forward to all your future videos you and all the boys I'm sorry to ramble on my boys are in severe pain I'm waiting for a ride to the ER but you guys keep me strong I want to thank you I'm going to miss you bro tell everybody I said hello. You might know I talk to my phone so occasionally things are screwed up with the words right now I don't have the strength in my lower body to go back and check it if you know what I mean I'm also crying cuz I can't make it to my brother's funeral for his wife one of those I forget what they call them facts of Life celebration of life I think that's it the facts ofLife terrible TV show that's right. I apologize for this long-winded thing but you're my favorite guy you have to hear me ramble that's the price of Fame young man the price of Fame I love you like a TV star bro no homo of course I'll talk to you when I get out of surgery say hello to the family your precious wife a good girl don't let her go give me a favor after you read this blow the whistle have a shot and I bet you I'll know you did it thank you guy you're a good man zack a real good man
Impressive very very impressive! The triplex is one of my most favorite engines. Russian Iron ( blue) is cool. Did you know some engines ( not a triplex) had american iron (green). Glad you got one. Enjoy😊👍👍👍!
You always find a way to make the hobby fun. No, I'm have a lauthey're articulated. Locomotive is amazing. I'm on a engineering. The tender is also mechanized. I would like to see a prison train
so far, here in nj , very few train shows, 3, and $170 for a board when bought by ab authorized repair guy plus $200 to 300 minimum labor so what did you spend to replace the board? Gary
I don't mean to be a pain in the neck but what was that blue steam locomotive I just caught a glimpse of it right before you were doing that clean and shine review
I have the same problem with the engines being recognized by the remote. I have 10+ engines that do this, most recently a proto3 engine less than a year old. I’m convinced it’s a TIU or remote issue.
The try plex are a good engine's, but they where not that efficient in the real world for the long halls like you said and they worked great as a helper pusher engine's, they would work great for the horse shoe corve I say other then having to stop to refule.
I have an extensive collection of Top end Lionel and MTH and 3rd rail sunset and even the unicorn weaver brass I5 Hudson New Haven with TMCC and Lionel sounds…..but My MTH Triplex Virginia 700 ps2.0 is my absolute favorite steam engine hands down…In my opinion, it’s better than the big boy, my Sunset Angus in Erie is also right up there, but the Triplex with two smoke stacks in sync with the chuffing is amazing to watch.
Hopefully one day will amass a collection like that! Have to agree, there is definitely something that is “just right” about the Triplex. It’s mesmerizing to watch!
we wish you had a youtube channel to share your collection and running sessions. Im just beginning my channel with a few videos posted so I fully realize that it takes time and learning quite a few new skills. but, so worth it to share Gary
Yea, seems like just one motor in the engine. Has a big driveshaft that runs down the middle to hook up to the rear set of drivers I was curious how this worked myself before seeing it.
There's been a long activity I don't like this time of year when everybody's waiting for locomotives I find it very boring I can't wait till everybody starts getting their shipments in I think you can agree
Excellent addition to your collection Zach. I like your layout, it shows not only your engine but the train the engine is working very well.
Thanks!

The triplex is awesome! Whenever it chugs by you cant help but get mesmerized by all those moving and spinning wheels and rods. Very cool addition to the fleet!
I love the bay window caboose on the end of this train brother.
Awesome locomotive! Many blessings
Love the smoke rings at 17:39 !

That’s definitely one “Erie day”! Thank you for watching!
Excellent detail and awesome vid.
😎👍 Breaking couplers probably wasn't a good marketing feature. 🤭
Great find and video
Very cool piece!
Nice engine.Really. Your layout is also beautiful.
Zack often said he was just average at landscaping and modeling. In fact, he is very, very good. Just hope I can do as well on my new trainboard and subsequent videos are as good as zack produces. Gary
When you realize that since it has driven wheels under the tender it’s a tank engine with a huge bunker
Zack, Im posting my 3rd video, inspired by you, RBP, and chris. Its so much fun to watch the many videos from you guys. Definitely a beautiful locomotive 🚂
Awesome engine! Had a cat named Spaz, a real attention seeker. I come in from outside and Spaz, was laying 💠 de my O- scale warren truss bride on the layout and barely fit.
In case you didn't know Chris's trains put out a small video today also it made my day between you and him thank you

Outstanding engine and history. Thanks "Jack" !
Now that’s what you call a nice smoker now when you see a bbq pit smoking like that on side the street you pull over that’s some good bbq
Very nice addition to your collection !!
Definitely the most unique model they ever produced for sure! I'd love to get one myself one in the near future. Great video dude! 😃👍
Very cool once again Zac! Cat got some show time also. Look forward to the new shows! Salute!
Salute!! 🍻
Beautiful engine and layout. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! And thank you for watching!
It's amazing what MTH does with their steam engines.
Good morning Victor from New Jersey nice piece good shout out to JD I watch that big 30 the other day very
cool glad you got that very cool you had some problems but you worked out like a man cuz looking out enjoy it bro very nice looking piece I love it say hello to the wife
Great video Zac. That is an awesome train. The info about resetting the TIU and changing the train number was great. I’ve done that before.
Thanks! Yea, I never would have guessed but glad it worked! Have to keep that in mind for the future

WOW, what a great engine, it should pull a ton of cars, thanks for sharing

Main line hobby shop in blue Ridge Summit in Pennsylvania I believe had one or two of them for sale a while back the last time I was in there zach.
Nice engine Zach. Congratulations!
Don't forget the cat is still in the beginning of the video he's cool too

Hi Zach the new MTH Steam Engine is stunning and beautiful 😍
Enjoyed the video!!! Love that engine!! I have the Rail King version and it's never off the track!!!
Sweet!!!
Dude I love your setup nice job 👍
Thank you!
Super cool locomotive. I like the off sync chuffing and the smoke show.
Excellent, and TommyZ would agree ! ! !
Oh, Huge Derailment on the overpass on my street yesterday. Put 2 tankers in the street below. 4/6 spread across the bridge and 20/30 off the track. Had 3 other crossings blocked for a while. Ouch!! Hopefully no one got hurt!! They get it all cleaned up? Jason would get a kick out of that!
Where did you get those red trestles for your elevated line?
Now that’s a beautiful engine. I love these old steam engines.
Beautiful Engine, but the 3 rail track just spoils it all, for me. Cool video!
Love the triplex. Ive had one for a while.
There was also a RailKing version of the Triplex.
Train whistle signals:
0: stop

Wow I have a Rail King version.
Nice!! Believe they offered it in G and HO scale as well

What if you make a screen coverfor the back stack so it dose not clog up or a open cap cover like the smoking cabooses have could work zach
What do you use to un clog the stack on the tender? I have the same issue all the time. Haven't found a good way of dealing with it.
Zach Victor from New Jersey love the triplex. Okay….I need to get a scale triplex! Thanks for the turtlewax tip too 👍
I would highly recommend it! LOL thanks!
That locomotive has got a very realistic looking front stack smoker.
Nice engine... looks amazing
Impressive very very impressive! The triplex is one of my most favorite engines. Russian Iron ( blue) is cool. Did you know some engines ( not a triplex) had american iron (green). Glad you got one. Enjoy😊👍👍👍!

Just as good if not better the second time awesome
Big Fan of the Erie Triplex! Only locomotive I know that has 3 sets of drive wheels!
I saw at a train auction a yr ago go for less than $800, I got a premiere challenger with proto3 for 450 at same auction
Nice!
It look cool in G scale.
I had the same issue with a DD1 that needed to be re added. Don’t know that I ever solved it before I had to replace the board for other reasons.

You and Jason have matching big boys as well I think
We do!! Forgot that one!
are you going to York!?
Not this year, hopefully next! Will you be attending?
I had a feeling it was a triplex. I want one so bad. I hope mth still has the tooling and they make a new release
There’s a tinny glimmer of hope I think, with them re-releasing the Angus. Hopefully they held onto the tooling.
@@CountryBunkersTrains I hope so man because if lionel did get there hands on it it'll no doubt be over $2k
She’s a smoker as well wicked awsum 👍👍👍👍👍👍
"Outa the park again Zack" !! ... "She's a Babe".
Thank you sir!! Thought you might like that one
I will check out the mth group

Hey Country bunker Trains, nice addition to the collection and hey to your feline friend who got his/her 15 sec of fame...
He was spazzing out over something! Must’ve been a big or something on the glass. Didn’t catch it till editing the video lol. Thank you for watching!

Zack, I believe that the premier version has three motors, the Rail King version the tender engine is a unpowered tender.
Nope, just one motor in the locomotive!

I was right! The Whistle gave it away!

@@CountryBunkersTrains Happy for ya!
We got a smoker. 😊
