    hi, Please advise me what is the concept of buckling length.
    if I am using UC 203-203X46 Kg/m, with a length of 5000 mm resting on 225 mm brick wall under M.S steel plate OR concrete pad. I understand that in my case Effective buckling length is = 1.2L+2D= (1.2x5+2x0.203)) = 6.406 m. Please confirm?

      yes this will the effective lenght. Please also check the code is there clause related to thickness of brick wall.
