I'm not surprised that this game needs more polish and work done, but at least Stalker 2 has the potential to be great, so I will definitely wait for a sale and enjoy GAMMA until then. If there is one weird thing that's also a disappointment for the sequel, it's the lack of vehicles for both players and NPCs. I would have enjoyed being able to drive around Chernobyl in a shitbox car even with areas where I couldn't drive, such as the swamps and perhaps the perimeter of the power plant. It would have also been nice for the military factions to have guarded, NPC only military hardware at their bases and a select few chokepoints that would present more opportunities for great gameplay either for you or against you depending on the situation.
I have a 3060 12gb and play 1080p on medium, 60 fps most of the time (No stutters in 8h of gameplay) Are you playing in 2k or 4k by any chance? Otherwise i don't know how we get the same performance
Stalker has always had Jank. It honestly to many is part of the experience. '' There are no bugs. Only anomolies. ' Is phrased for a reason. I ran epic at 60-70fps without issue until i got to the first main settlement Then i could not get it above 12-15fps. But switching it to medium so i got back to 50-60fps. And it's insane how good the game still looks on medium. I was worried they ran the same damage system as the OG titles. So i started the game on the highest difficulty. As in the OG game. Weapon dmg both for AI and player as directly tied to the difficulty. So picking Rookie mean you would have bandits tank 3-4 entire makarov mags to the face. And you doing the same. However even on the highest difficulty i feel dmg is wierd. Sometimes I shoot enemies and they die instantly. And other times they don't. .And headshots do contribute but doesn't mean it's guarante. And of course anyone in an exo-suit with a good helmet i expect not to die in 1 shot. but i'm wondering if the game is random generating Hp pools for enemy's aswell. As both the OG games and Stalker 2 had there own version of boss and unique stalkers that had massive HP pools. It could be to simulate a boss fight or simply an NPC you needed to keep alive. So they made them tanky so it's less pain. If not that it could be a matter of issue with the bullet trajectory. That it doesn't go where it's actually showing? far fetched? I do however say that using the right bullet type for the right enemy changes allot how quickly you kill them.. Rocking Tissue damage on mutants and AP rounds on most human enemies. I'm honestly in it and the game is a solid 8/10 maybe even a 9/10 if i allow my Stalker nostalgia googles to stay on. I played 15h now in 2 days. And I can't put it down. So much we having issues at home about it. ^^ ( It will work out. ) That doesn't mean the game is without flaw in my own views tho. And a few things sadly stick out quite allot for me. - The first would be that it's obvious the game has had microsoft on it's neck. As the Weapon wheel.. The quick command buttons.. the lack of keybinding and many other things showcases that stalker 2 has had a massive focuse to be a console game. Which was to be expected. Now this doesn't apply in all regards. but still some. I can't stress the amount of food and vodka i drunk middle of firefighs for accidently hitting E or Q. And having C and Z as lean buttons? what? I do notice you auto lean next to a corner tho. So that's nice. (most of the time.) - Other issue i have is the lack of interest with the random groups walking about. you sure do get plenty of random encounters and events. You get them from radio messages. PDA's.. Notes.. Or simply for traveling around and stumble upon something. This is nice. However all thos static walking around patrol groups.. serve close to no function other then to fight.. In the old game you could litterly walk with a group.. use them to travel as they where at many times heading somewhere.. They where out looking for artifacts.. Killing mutants.. fighting for territory.. Sure it was limited in the OG version and did not really grow until anomoly and the modpacks took it underwings. but i feel why? They walk around.. they are either friendly or enemies.. And thats it.. You can talk to them? but they don't say much of interest.. Just gossip that leads to nothing so far? You can't quick trade away items you don't want to carry with them? they got no extra small tasks for you.. Or even hold on to any info you can buy from them? All this is lost. - I also feel the economy is strange.. Stalker always been a rough gem and people suppose to struggle early then get rich and get the cool shit. And it's a singleplayer game so there's already many ways to get and glitch and cheat to get infinity money. but for someone like me that don't enjoy that. That like to think the devs planned the experience around the economy and the struggles. But when you do like a 3-4 step-by-step mission that had you kill 4-6 bandits.. 10 mutants and go through an anonmoly field.. and you get back.. and they send you 500 coupons? (New Ruble) And then you go to the vendor.. And 30 ak rounds cost 800.. And you need 4000 to repair the 40% durabillity you lost on your AK.. I get it's suppose to be gut wrenching and later quest do pay more. And stalker always trhrived to reward smart play. your not obligated to fight and shoot at everything. running.. sneaking is an option. But allot of the time i feel the game is forcing encounters.. then not rewarding you for it. Had i not looted every single corpse for ammo.. I probably not had any ammo on me. Of course past the 10h I feel.. Ammo.. meds and supplies is of no issue as i got like 100x of each in my stash. Which makes the experience wierd? as it goes from gutwrenching and impossible.. To pointless in the matter of 5-6hours of gameplay. And this is on the hardest difficulty where I expect resources to be more scarce. none of this is putting me off enough for now. but some pointers i picked up that i feel is a strange deviation from what i expected. Nice video by the way.
Must admit I have about 5 maybe 6 hours now on high setting though my issue is at one point I was running around with nearly 40 medkits and 60 bandages... which I found on the way along with enough food to feed the zone... I think that all of them should be downgrade and food should only fix hunger... also mutants as you stated way too tanky humans you can take in 2-3 shots and then a flesh you are mag dumping on them and les said about the bloodsuckers ability to soak damage the better... but apart from that I am really digging this game and I have been playing Stalker since 2007... though I wont be surrendering my Gamma build just yet...
I really wish I could enjoy it but I'm having an audio issue where my gunshots are quiet as a mouse for some weird reason, it's listed on the bugs they're aware of but it's not making it easy to wait for a fix. Also stealth being utterly broken is frustrating.
Honestly, I'm quite disappointed with the alife, but other aspects are at least good, with most of them being great. Overall solid 9 out of 10 until the alife gets fixed. P.s. i can't even imagine what can the stalker modding community build from that in a couple of years
One thing that kills a game like this is that you do not have a means of travel except by foot. I mean in this day and age I do not want to walk every way. Games like Red Dead Rebirth, Metro Exodus, etc., all have means of transportation, which makes them so immersive and enjoyable. Engines can handle it now and it's come to be an expectation of mine to have them in open-world games. (I understand why older games didn't could handle it but now its just strange and jarring not to) This is all my opinion and I get it a lot of games can just ignore that.
3060 ti here as well, im kinda disappointed how the settings for my PC are still struggling with the game, especially with the sudden fps drop from cutscenes when speaking to an npc or entering a town.
If you Want to play go médium settings 4k dlss 66% now you have 60+ fps whit not droping and still look good or you Can buy a mega PC nasa for 10k+ is not your fault that the game feels bad performance.
yeah, a lot of odd choices with the controls. I can't figure out what they were thinking with the quick access items. having them on f1-4 in the original games worked great. tap-versus-hold is annoying in combat, and putting them on q and e was clearly the work of a deeply disturbed mind.
I feel like they completely killed the a-life ai now its just set enemy spawns which kinda kills the feeling of wandering aroud the zone and now it feels like every other AAA games random encounters. also bloodsuckers are broken
I really wish you made your statement about how it will be patched in the future with an acknowledgement that while that's a good thing. It's still not an acceptable standard to have a game release in a state that will be fixed at a later date. It should be released with these problems already fixed if they are gonna charge for a full and functional product. So tired of seeing this sentiment echoed. We need to have higher standards as gamers. Stalker 2 is great, but it doesn't get a pass just because "TheYlL fIX iT aLl laTEr"
My 3070 gets 100 fps on high I’m a 1080p peasant but I don’t mind for now I think for how it looks how big it is and how just completely seamless the entire game is I can see obviously I wish it was better but my game is smooth like butter no complaints other than tanky ass mutants
I found gunplay really hard and not sure what to call it but the mouse movement and aiming is too smooth which is kinda annoying and hard + pair that with the lower frame rate (+if you are using FG it comes with extra delay) and it makes gameplay not enjoyable and tiering at some point.
This games feels like stalker SHOC unfortunately, 8 at max, good thing is that it feels like SHOC But the balance is horrible I'm playing on veteran and man mutants are spongy as hell, try to kill bloodsucker
i feel unconfortable playing it, meaning from the hud to the reloading restrictions, compass everything is more or less meh to me idk i gave it a few chances but its not catching AT all i have the same feeling playing some kind of Battlefield Campaign or CoD not comparing it completely but the same feeling playing the first stalker or gamma is so much more intuitive. I think for me the console integration in this series is the culprit to my meh feeling it just feels like its made to include the casual players too much. It could literally be a new FarCry in a different setting tbh if you wouldnt know it. Reading comments my conclusion is that its too casual for me, missing the whole Stalker1 get thrown in the water and start without any guides feeling.
I LOVE IT. Its everything I always wanted it to be. As in a purist stalker game. Hmm i run a mid system 4060, i5 12 gen cpu and i get 150fps. With all the bells and whistles. I did Spend like an hour changing setting in my graphics card. But its possible.
That 150 fps is probably from the frame generation, which triples the fps without improving the (feeling of slow-ish reaction when you are low on the fps, idk the English word for that)
look I love the game but it is 100% un-optimized. I have a 3070ti, a 7950x3d, 64GB ddr5, and the game is installed on an nvme SSD. I have updated all of my drivers. On LOW settings with DLSS set to balanced, I get frame drops down to 10-15 frames and those drops will last for 5-10 minutes before it catches up and starts running smooth and im back up around 150-170fps. This happens CONSTANTLY. I cant go 30 minutes without getting locked to 10 frames for seemingly no reason at all. Outside of the absolute worst optimization ive ever experienced (cyber punk had a more consistent frame rate at launch for me) the game itself is absolutely great and I can understand some things going by the wayside development wise considering the devs country is currently being invaded. Lets not lie to ourselves though, this game is very much un-optimized.
I'm running a RTX 4070 Super and I've got to settle for medium graphics or otherwise deal with poor performance, ngl I definitely wouldn't try it with anything less then a 3x series card.
To be fair Space Marine 2 has even lesser requirements than this game and yet my pc was trying not to croke. Probably should look at getting a new pc...
"British, Scottish or Irish accents"??"? Good grief dude. You mean *English, Scottish and Irish accents. I mean, haven't you heard of English people? From a country called England? They speak with _English_ accents, NOT British accents. The clue is in the name.... English.
I genuinely can't tell if people are lying or not about gunplay? I honestly think it's probably the worst part of the game by far, it just looks like a worse version of an Ubisoft fps game
i have a 3060 and i cant play the game unless im running it at lowest with performance dlss, game looks worse than the forest 1 and runs worse than red dead 2 on ultra
Eh in terms of complexity it's mostly on par with the originals. The difficulty is a bit higher. I don't see how it's casual other than toggleable accessibility options and hud elements.
@JF-vz1ju True, but I spent the last 5 years playing modded Stalker. There is no way I can go back to a game this simple, and I have hoped Stalker 2 would add at least some complexity over the original.

I've been loving stalker 2, I have only played about 4 hours and my only problem is the performance
What was so satisfying about the headshot? I think my most satisfying headshot sounds would be either Tarkov when someone has a shitty helmet on and it just crumbles, or Bioshock Infinite where every headshot you land lets off a big orchestral hit!
It is a very taxing game but I run a 4070 with a Ryzen 7 5800 on high 1080p dlss frame gen I run steady at 90+fps. Love the game they took everything that made gamma awesome and improved almost every aspect
Something that really bothers me though is the time passing too fast. Like you do a sidequest, and a whole day passes in the game in like 30 minutes. Hope they fix this too.
When shooting those 3 head shots u should take into consideration that the bullet looking for the brain of those npcs and that might take some time :D
One of the loading tips says if a red cloud comes over RUN for shelter fast has anyone came upon that yet.
yes i came across it. but don't want to spoil.
I have a 3060 12gb and play 1080p on medium, 60 fps most of the time (No stutters in 8h of gameplay)
Are you playing in 2k or 4k by any chance? Otherwise i don't know how we get the same performance
is there a discord around already for Stalker 2 modding? As in mod-making?
I like this game, I just wish the English dub was like how it was in the originals, everyone sounding American just feels weird.
^^ ( It will work out. )
That doesn't mean the game is without flaw in my own views tho.
(most of the time.)
- Other issue i have is the lack of interest with the random groups walking about. you sure do get plenty of random encounters and events.
Comparing this to Ready or Not, both games being UE5, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is optimized rather well
Out of curiosity, what are the settings you are playing at? You said "mostly medium", so are some set to low and others high?
patience. SoC needed 6 patches...
Shame on GSC for using the better part of 2 decades and still being unable to deliver a working product.
Lazy and incompetent devs for sure.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 Blame the management not the devs.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 But it does work.
Go right and down from starting zone and youll find rookie village
and it is without A-Life
Must admit I have about 5 maybe 6 hours now on high setting though my issue is at one point I was running around with nearly 40 medkits and 60 bandages... which I found on the way along with enough food to feed the zone...
First opinion, i can't get meat from the boar and dogs...
3700 + 4070 run 2K 60(ish) in high setting , 45 in epic (both no DLSS)
I really wish I could enjoy it but I'm having an audio issue where my gunshots are quiet as a mouse for some weird reason, it's listed on the bugs they're aware of but it's not making it easy to wait for a fix. Also stealth being utterly broken is frustrating.
im not downloading a game that is 130gb in size now
im gonna let them cook
just like cyberpunk
(I understand why older games didn't could handle it but now its just strange and jarring not to)
This is all my opinion and I get it a lot of games can just ignore that.
I’m not sure how vehicles would fit into the economy of the zone, but I feel like bikes could work maybe as an alternative mode of transport
i havent used them but theres npcs called guides in the game, they will take you to any main camp, so far from zone 2 its 1500 to go back to zone 1.
@@The_SSSlopper Like i would even accept that, just something man
3060 ti here as well, im kinda disappointed how the settings for my PC are still struggling with the game, especially with the sudden fps drop from cutscenes when speaking to an npc or entering a town.
If you Want to play go médium settings 4k dlss 66% now you have 60+ fps whit not droping and still look good or you Can buy a mega PC nasa for 10k+ is not your fault that the game feels bad performance.
The hud looks like dying light. Massive press f to interact buttons everywhere
yeah, a lot of odd choices with the controls. I can't figure out what they were thinking with the quick access items. having them on f1-4 in the original games worked great. tap-versus-hold is annoying in combat, and putting them on q and e was clearly the work of a deeply disturbed mind.
You can adjust the hud. I don't have that compass up top or mission log on my screen.
@@ofrenicturning off elements doesn't really mean adjusting
@@woKenVFX ok then. You can change the hud. Happy?
How does it feel playing something other than gamma?
he'll yeah
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
I am a bit bummed it got mainstreamed
Oh well
Weird complaint.
Also using framegen i went from 60 to 120fps!
Bought this game last year, im on vacation and still didnt get to play it 😢, too bad i only got a rtx 3060 too
I have a gaming laptop. RTX 2060, i510300h 32GB of RAM and I'm getting the same frame rate as you on medium settings, then random drops to
wake up baby, NullMoxy uploaded another video!
My 3070 gets 100 fps on high I’m a 1080p peasant but I don’t mind for now I think for how it looks how big it is and how just completely seamless the entire game is I can see obviously I wish it was better but my game is smooth like butter no complaints other than tanky ass mutants
Help, my laptop GPU is now melted down like number4's reactor core. TwT
I found gunplay really hard and not sure what to call it but the mouse movement and aiming is too smooth which is kinda annoying and hard + pair that with the lower frame rate (+if you are using FG it comes with extra delay) and it makes gameplay not enjoyable and tiering at some point.
Game is good , brroken which is okay for now .. wait for updates .
wont fix that gamma itch though .
gamma 2.0 maybe
This games feels like stalker SHOC unfortunately, 8 at max, good thing is that it feels like SHOC
But the balance is horrible I'm playing on veteran and man mutants are spongy as hell, try to kill bloodsucker
i feel unconfortable playing it, meaning from the hud to the reloading restrictions, compass everything is more or less meh to me idk i gave it a few chances but its not catching AT all i have the same feeling playing some kind of Battlefield Campaign or CoD not comparing it completely but the same feeling playing the first stalker or gamma is so much more intuitive.
Shoudl be options to remove folliage etc... low poligons, like gamma have, not everyone care about graphic fidellity
I LOVE IT. Its everything I always wanted it to be. As in a purist stalker game. Hmm i run a mid system 4060, i5 12 gen cpu and i get 150fps. With all the bells and whistles. I did Spend like an hour changing setting in my graphics card. But its possible.
I have a very similar build, would you mind sharing your changes because I’m running at 50fps on medium settings ?
Can u share settings?
Ya didn’t even ask at what resolution he playing at.
That 150 fps is probably from the frame generation, which triples the fps without improving the (feeling of slow-ish reaction when you are low on the fps, idk the English word for that)
It’s a lower mid-tier Fallout 4 clone.
Turn DLSS Frame Generation I go from 50-60 fps on max to 160-150fps
Frame generation is a great tool, but it eats gpu memory. So it isn't a magic solution for every PC, although, a good one for a lot of them
its good
look I love the game but it is 100% un-optimized.
So my GTX 1070 probably wouldnt handle this
I'm running a RTX 4070 Super and I've got to settle for medium graphics or otherwise deal with poor performance, ngl I definitely wouldn't try it with anything less then a 3x series card.
the official minimum requirements says gtx 1060 on low settings, expecting 30 fps at 1080p.
To be fair Space Marine 2 has even lesser requirements than this game and yet my pc was trying not to croke. Probably should look at getting a new pc...
@rainbowhippos9035 this game is definitely harder for the gpu than a space marine
Has anyone had any experience running this with a LAPTOP 4070?
I figure I can at least run it on medium settings.
I don;t really like the COD SFX whe popping a medkit or taking headshots. It feels like warzone
Unplayable. Such a great game. But that damn fps
i have a 3060 and i cant play the game unless im running it at lowest with performance dlss, game looks worse than the forest 1 and runs worse than red dead 2 on ultra
Graphics and animations look amazing, the rest just seems overly simple and a bit casual, will revisit in a few years when mods have taken off.
Please i dont know how to put it in english, but SOMEONE please put GAMMA inside this game, the way it works and everything, Love u Guys
Wait a year or two, and modders will do it. They have already uploaded some minor mods
Brilliant game and what a challenge it is my first stalker game plus when they do a thew more updates for the ai it could be even better there's 1 or 2 things I'd like for instance going full prone position is needed and a dive or slide I'd be happy
This is COD Ukraine style. RIP Stalker franchise.
this comment makes no sense lmao
It’s shit
