  • Miraidon ex is the latest in the line of Pokemon Trading Card Game League Battle Decks. While a fully-upgraded Miraidon deck has proven to be strong enough to win at the highest level, did the deck lose too much sauce when it was given the League Battle Deck treatment? Find out with my review!

    Thanks gor your videos. I'm an mtg player, but my kids (5 and 7 years old) started to bring some pokemon cards home that they got from their friends. So I decided to learn how to play together with them and bought the level 1 product with 3 intro decks. Now I want to teach them how more competitve play looks like and thanks to you I know what to buy. I don't have time to learn about the game enough to start browsing decklists and buying singles and I had to have something I can introduce my kids to, while they're not old enough to look for these things by themselves. Thankfuly there are semi-competitve decks out there and your reviews guided me well what to buy next, so my kids don't end up playing super basic decks that don't show them how the actual competitve match looks like. Thanks bro!

      Exact same boat. Think I'll be snagging this one and either the Mew or Lagia pre constructed league battle bois
      How did this go for you?

    • @lech.dutkiewicz
      @lech.dutkiewicz 2 месяца назад

      @@Kyles_Money I bought the Mirraidon/Regieleki and the MewVMAX decks. While they're fun to play, they turned out to be too difficult for my kids. You have learn new cards. Bu there is another level. There are play patterns with these decks, so you need to know synergies between your cards and sequence your play accordingly.
      So they enjoy these decks, but they have to play them together with me with hands being revealed so I guide them here and there.
      The first 2-3 games were a challenge, because each turn with these decks takes more time than with the basic leve decks. So because I also had to figure out how these decks work, each turn took about 2-3 minutes so they got bored quickly.
      But once they understood what each card does and started to see the play patterns, it became much more fun.
      If I had to pick a product to buy once again, I would probably go with the Deluxe Battle Decks. They have a slightly better selection of trainer cards, some interactions, but aren't that complicated.
      I hope this answer will turn out to be somewhat helpful to you. Best wishes :)

    Even if you don't plan to play this deck, I'd buy a few just for Forest seal stone and other cards are a bonus. Assuming you buy it for a bit under msrp, its a steal! I've pre ordered a case to help build up my other decks as well as starting a Miraidon deck

  • @shinyocelot04archive
    @shinyocelot04archive 7 месяцев назад +5

    It's alright. The Regieleki build is a bit easier to play for newer players than Flaafy, and it's rotation proof. Wish that the Trainer selection was a little bit better. The lack of Iono is odd but Forest Seal Stone is great.

    Sad to not see either Raikou or Raichu. They are the only cards i dont have yet and in these lands they are pricey as hell. At least the forest seal stone will drop the price

    For 30 bucks usd, it's kind of a bummer.
    Very few cards in there actually used in competitive Miraidon deck.
    I would stick to singles, and for forest seal stone.
    It's a pull card from the play! pokemon stamped packs received at leagues for free.inwent from 0 seals to 3 this month by just going to local leagues

    Swapping in some Turos to remove eleki vmax from play when too close to a KO.

    I feel like it'll be good just going forward into a format without Battle VIP pass when Tandem Unit is basically the same thing built-in. Are there any alternate options for Raichu V though is the question.

    • @InThirdPerson
      @InThirdPerson  4 месяца назад

      Raichu is not rotating until 2025 so we don’t have to worry about that for a while.

    would this be suitable as a first deck for me to get me started in the game without being finished off insantly? xD as a beginner! Or would I be better off with a different themed deck for the longer future?

    • @InThirdPerson
      @InThirdPerson  5 месяцев назад +2

      If you’re starting from complete zero, you “might” want to start with a level 1 ex Battle Deck. Some out there right now include Chien-Pao, Greninja, Ampharos, Lucario, Kangaskhan and Tinkaton. These ones are a bit more beginner-friendly.
      However, if you’re committing to playing competitively, Miradion is an excellent starting point! If you want to take this more seriously, whether that means playing at IRL tournaments or online, either this deck or the Palkia deck would be your best bets for a level 3 product.

    There's an Inteleon VMAX deck running around that's a menace. But I fear what happens if everyone is able to get a hold of Miraidon EX. That thing is OP enough as it is. Guess I need to fix my Palkia Vstar deck and giving them a hard time despite the weakness.

    • @InThirdPerson
      @InThirdPerson  7 месяцев назад

      Inteleon VMAX with Urshifu is still a strong deck but it’s always been a fringe meta deck, even after winning the North American International Championships. Its matchup spread is wonky at best, but it wrecks some of the best decks pretty badly.
      Palkia can do fine against Miraidon as long as Palkia takes the first KO. Of late I’ve seen Palkia paired with Iron Valiant, which is a combo I need to try.

    In TCGL Palkia is actually awesome at the moment due to all the 200-240 HP Pokémons running around. The Charizard matchup is really terrible but the deck does not seem as popular anymore.

    • @InThirdPerson
      @InThirdPerson  7 месяцев назад +1

      I have started to see Palkia played with Iron Valiant. Will kick the tires on that concept and see if it’s the real deal.
      Charizard is seeing a lot less play in Live, despite it being arguably better than ever right now. But this always happens in Live, as the meta always skews heavily in favour of the new free battle pass decks. Roaring Moon will likely continue to be a great deck after the Paradox Rift format is over, but it won’t see as much play on Live because it won’t be easily accessible or new anymore.

    I started playing this deck online as soon as it was revealed. I've updated it since in the Regieleki build and have added Iron Hands now. It works very well and can't wait for the release this week when I'll finally get to play it in paper. Here's my tried and hopefully true enough deck list for the upgrades. Tbh path to peak sucks especially cause you're gonna (sometimes) need tandem unit

    • @InThirdPerson
      @InThirdPerson  6 месяцев назад

      Path to the Peak is in almost every top Miraidon list, including the winner of LAIC last week (limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/9084), the winner of Toronto Regionals (limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/8948), two of the top 5 at Peoria Regionals (limitlesstcg.com/tournaments/386), the highest placing Miraidon at the world championships (limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/8186) and numerous top placings in online tournaments but I’ll just post 1 here cause I’ve already posted a bunch from IRL events (play.limitlesstcg.com/tournament/655402fd4c081d5a0cfd0359/player/leu/decklist).
      There are some successful Miraidon lists that don’t use Path, but Miraidon with Path to the Peak is a proven winning combo. Most of the time you don’t play Path until after you set up and it likely disrupts your opponent more than it disrupts you.

      @@InThirdPersonhow do you think it compares without any extra cards with the mew deck and maybe the palkia one? I guess mew is still your favorite . Also it seems like the regieleki box has more pricey cards if I'm not wrong.
