This is such priceless, interesting & wonderful viewing, but equally, so sad to be reminded of what the British did in Ireland & what they did to the people who lived in Ireland & here in the West.
The unnecessary cruelty, brutality, pain & hardships that they brought to so many Irish peoples.
IMPO, I think it's one of the greatest shames & to this day, Ireland's never fully recovered from those days.
I'm heading to Ireland end of this year, so I'm very much looking forward to my visit & my time there & I long to spend precious time with Ireland's wonderful inhabitants.
    Thanks for sharing this.

What utter rubbish ! You need to do some proper research and you will discover that the British developed and improved the lives of the vast majority of the populations of the countries in the British Empire. (in particular India).

Walking all the day, near tall towers
    Where falcons build their nests
    Silver winged they fly
They know the call of freedom in their breasts
Saw Black Head against the sky
Where twisted rocks they run down to the sea
    Living on your western shore
Saw summer sunsets, asked for more
I stood by your Atlantic sea
And sang a song for Ireland

I was wondering the same thing just now, but I'm guessing this may have been filmed in the late 70s &/or early to mid 80s, or thereabouts.
I'm not 100% sure of it was filmed in the 70s, but in my humble opinion, it appears to be more so the early 80s.
Initially I thought it was all filmed in the 70s, but if you look @ many things within this video, such as the general dress & use of appliances within the kitchen, etc; it spells more so, the early 80s.

The word "MARA" is taken from the Irish word that means the sea & that is....."MUIR" .
Connemara can very well be translated as the "Conmhaícne tribe", who lived/live by the sea.
Connemara's archaeology dates back 1000's of years, so there's much early history dotted around, specifically beneath the earth's surface.
