Creates a stockholm syndrome also. I was subconsiosly simping for my mom, instead of other women up until I was like 23. Vicious cycle, the tragic thing is that in the real world, its not only women who ruthlessly take advantage of you, but the men push you around also.

Amen, my mom’s been that way and still is to this day. I’m so glad I parted ways, her saying she loves me was nothing but lies. Her manipulating, abusive behavior and trying to stalk my social media, destroy my friendships, basically everything was why I didn’t want nothing to do with her. To make it worse, my brothers and her ex boyfriend claim that she’s trying to keep me from being a part of society in general (no job, no money, not to have a career, no potential). She’s never been happy with herself and then trying to keep me from doing anything that I want in life, heck no, I had to get out of there- going no contact was the best thing for me. The behavior of trying to explain to her isn’t worth it.

Speaking from experience. My mother was a big ball of chaos and stress. my father only stayed because divorce is expensive. Didnt stop her from telling me how he wasnt shit and secretly closing the door and venting to me about how horrible my father was.(retired officer in the military and software engineer who paid most of her bills)... after college she would cuss me out for thinking about leaving her alone with her husband. get on her knees and would cry and beg me never to leave. She was a misreble woman who seemed defeated and destroyed. As if she was shattered into a million pieces. But, the world sees her as a well accomplished therapist with multiple degrees. Very selfish. Basically, the embodiment of a demon posses person who is trying to act like a normal citizen. Just a misreble defeated, selfish person. I was always a little afraid to leave her because she breaks down and gets very pitiful. Like a 9 year old in the grocery store throwing a tantrum because she cant get a piece of candy. Selfish. unsupportive. screams and yells when she is unhappy. chases you around the house. but wont let you leave her. I ended up moving out and changing my number. Good for you. You have to set boundaries even when it's family. When you said that your mother was, "The embodiment of a demon possessed person who is trying to act like a normal citizen." I could relate to that statement. My mother is a HYENA that dragged her children through and all around the lost value system - controlling, manipulative, abusive and narcissistic. But to the outside world only displayed herself to be a charming person. Once I realized I was trauma bonding with her and that she would never take any accountability for all her BS... I HAD TO LET HER GO and haven't spoken to her in 2 years.

I'm one of the few who escaped the clutches of an overbearing mother (Not without the help of male guidance though like Kevin Samuels, StephIsCold etc). She kept me close in my formative years, never allowed me to do anything difficult eg. Made me quit my first job I had and made me wear crappy, baggy clothes. Obviously my dad was never in the house, but at least I know him. She has never ever allowed me to be given masculine advice in my formative years as a result, I grew up so confused in my tertiary years not having any social skills and relationship experience. At 25, I struggle to form good relationships with women and I can't feel sorry for young men who don't escape and still stuck in this sickening complex. I feel guilt now that I've left her and she's now living alone back home, can't help that I am gonna have to take care of her very soon at the expense of my own life and peace of mind.

Amen, my mom’s tried everything on me. She thinks I’m her husband when I’m not and to make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend’s claiming she’s trying to protect me from dating any woman I associate with, any friend I talk to, me not having a life of my own. She’s never been happy with herself, wanted to keep me from seeing any other family members I want to get to know, basically everything. I had to go no contact to protect my health and safety. Your life is important to you, don’t let your mom get in the way of it.

My mother was 16 years old when she left my father. I remember her telling me that l wouldn't amount to a hill of beans. I was only a small child but l knew she took me away from my father and it upset me greatly. I didn't have the power to do anything about it so l decided to not speak which was in my power. Me not speaking upset her because everyone would say that boy should be talking. My mother took me to a child psychiatrist but l still wouldn't talk for a very long time, close to a year.
I didn't start to talk until my grandmother who was a wonderful woman who l loved very much came to visit and asked me to talk to her. After my grandmother left and went back home my mother proceeded to destroy my childhood by having five other kids out of wedlock all of who I love and had to care and protect while she was God knows where. I was her man of the house.

It took me two years to find out why my son would cry all the time. I came home for lunch one day and caught my wife letting our two year old son, at that time, play with her nipples. I lost my Efing mind. I said now I see why he wont stop crying. WTF are you doing? He's now thirty three with no children, no girl friend, has nothing to do with me, live around the corner from his mom. My daughter be telling me they act like a couple. My ex-wife has said out her mouth, giggling like that mess is funny, that he treats her like he is her husband. They are both sick.

I saw this with my mother and later my husband. It's so covert it's often hard to see. But it deeply affects men and they cannot be the man they need to be and later a father/husband because they are still their mother's man.
Usually in these videos, the speaker is speaking in general terms about this situation. But you went straight for the mothers and it was beautiful to hear! Thank you! Every mother with a son-husband needs to hear this message. You pulled no punches.
This became a problem with Boomer women and then got worse with my generation (gen X). No man in the house or an emotionally absent father and the son becomes her man. ☹

He can't even develop pathway to manhood because he's already been thrust into it as a kid! All because of her inability to grow up herself and her controlling attitude she robs him of his manhood as well as his development of his manhood.

This needs to go viral because this is very common in our culture. People know its been happening for decades but its swept under the rug. Quiet as it's kept its the reason so many "Son Husbands" don't possess the ability to hold down relationships.
Im glad a woman is calling it out because when a man tries to rectify the situation he gets belittled, degraded and cast out.Its so bad that sons nowadays are raised to be their retirement plan and their sisters are raised to take care of the " Son Husband in their mother's place when she expires.
It's a sick cycle that has been normalized.
