Hi there ,, Glad to be watching your videos on the pendon site. As you said it is a bit far away for some people to get from my place to visit pendon especially if your in Australia hahaha. Anyhoo if i do get to visit england I'll come visit you and all the other awesome train places you guys have got goin on over there. Cheers from John in Australia
John, many thanks for watching our 'online museum'. When we decided to produce and publish these videos, it was to enable us to share some of the magic within Pendon with those who could not visit. To have an online visitor from Australia is just great. If ever you have the opportunity to visit us, you will be warmly welcomed!
Hello, I have visited Pendon a few years ago. Hope we are able to visit once more after all the covid misery. Kind regards from The Netherlands. Note, I am trying to build my own “Pendon” but in a much much smaller size, using proto87 standards.
Hello Nico. We are really pleased you will try to visit us again once we are open again. We have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure your next trip will be a good one! Please do send us photos of your 'Pendon', it will be really good to see what you are doing. If you would like to see some exclusive content not available on our public channel and be kept up to date with 'life at Pendon', just click here: pendonmuseum.com/landing-pages/youtube-connection
It's really good to know you are enjoying them. More to come and with our museum opening shortly, we hope to welcome you in person. if you would like to see more of our unpublished gems, follow this link: pendonmuseum.com/landing-pages/youtube-connection
My husband and I have been to pendon many times over the years and never get fed up going, if you do have another deasel running day please advertise it as we would love to come and see them,
WR 9Fs were romping along on passenger trains until a 'director' (excuse the term) observed what had been pulling him so splendidly. Speed restrictions and goods trains were decreed.
John, you are are right that 9Fs were speed limited after enthusiastic crews were found to be running at 90mph or so - Cardiff Canton crews we do believe. They were not excluded from passenger work though - just speed limited.
Id contradict your point on the standards. Here me out. The 2-6-2s are based off of lms prairies, some of which were inspired by the success of the GWR prairies. Also, the standard 5s (and smaller standard 4s) are loosely based off the lms black 5, which was inspired by the GWR Halls. In this case, certain great western locos are essentially grandfathers to some of the standard designs, so there may have been a bit more western region influence in those designs than we'd otherwise think
'Thank you for your comments which are well made. I suppose we were suggesting there wasn't much direct influence but you are right - the GW forebears are there!'
The Vale Scene at Pendon is approximately 80' x 20' (24 x 6m), so is over a scale mile long. We always have 20 trains in service on the main lines - 5 in each direction on the Bristol and Oxford routes. In addition when we re-open the Midland & Southwestern Junction railway there will be an additional 4 or 5. Visit www.pendonmuseum.com for up to date info.
@joginns778. Firstly, many thanks for viewing our video, we do appreciate it. We are very sorry that it didn’t quite meet with your expectations. We try very hard to produce informative and visually appealing content and hope you will enjoy one of the many other videos on our Channel.

What is the most modern rolling stock or the most exotic rolling stock that has run on Pendon in a silly moment away from the public eye?
A very good question but the answer from the team is 'We couldn't possibly comment' !!! Now everyone is intrigued.
How big is this place? How many trains on how much track?
@@PendonMuseumVideos, I hope I can see everything in future videos!
@hntrains . You better visit the museum. I did! Regards from the Netherlands. 🚂

Very disappointed no Western 1000 class ore d 600 warship on display and what spoiled it most , to much talking an not enough film of the locos,
