    Heres hoping that rich client has some more commissions someday because I love these unique subjects

      Yeah, we've got at least three more subjects planned for early in the new year, and I'm sure there will be more to come after that!

    Interesting you mention the butt joints on the landing skids, it’s for those reasons in Australia we call Italeri “little scary” models. Good effort resulting in a nice finish 👍

    Yep, that's a really nice Loach. Italeri can often be fussy builds but you nailed that down tight! Nice one 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻

    It's so impressive that you can add such precise detail to a model this tiny.

    Greetings fella, hope you're all good. Loved seeing a little bit of "Bretting" going on. I suppose "little" is the operative word for this build, it being a tiny little Loach in 1/72. I think I commented, after your Huey build, that I have a bit of a soft spot for 1/72 choppers so I really did enjoy this build. Thanks mate.
    If you really want to be put off 1/72 small Choppers, try the old (Very bloody old) Airfix Westland Scout. This is without doubt the worst kit I have ever made, EVER, and I've made some shockers in the past. It was so shockingly bad it needed plasticard strip one and a half to two mm wide to join the base of the clearpart to the front of the body. I can't believe I bothered even painting it. That said, I suppose it did look better through the telescopic sights when painted and placed at the end of my garden.
    If you'd excuse my misquoting, it got "Terminated with extreme prejudice."
    Thanks again Brett, my regards as always.... 😄

      I am doing great! Thanks for asking. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! I think I'll avoid that Westland Scout if it all the same! lol. Cheers.

    I've had this kit sitting and waiting to build for the last 3 years. Just haven't had the itch to build it. Given the advice on this now, I think it'll be next! Great build!

    Hi Brett - lovely little kit and nicely finished too. Thanks for the vid, and thanks for the warning about thr extra thin cement wicking onto the clear parts. Unfortunately I could have done with this a couple of months ago - my Revell 1/32 P-51 now has a huge thumbprint melted into the top of the canopy 😭. On the bright side, at least I can prove it's my model... 😁🇬🇧

      @HammerheadModelMaking  Месяц назад +2

      Yeah, I've done that more than once! Its a good way to learn how to sand and polish clear parts!!

    Brett another nice build. Here a tip you might want to try. The small windows you painted over,you might want to mask them and trim them before you install them. I have done this in the past and still do when building armor models. It works and helps a lot to keep you from forgetting to mask them....😊😊😊😊

    Man, building that helo in 1/72... I can see you with like a jeweller's loop or big magnifying glass on a swing arm. That thing was teeny tiny.

      @HammerheadModelMaking  Месяц назад +1

      Well, I'm very fortunate to have great eyesight, so no magnification needed yet.

    Great work! It was fun to watch, but it certainly wasn't always fun to build. After watching the video, I'm keen to continue building my Kitty Hawk AH-6J, which I had lost motivation for in the meantime. Best regards...

    When using liquid glue to attach a non clear part to a clear part put the glue on the non clear part and spread it out and let it evaporate for a few seconds then join the parts together. If you try to put the pieces together then add the glue the glue won't all run into the space between the part and some will run out onto the clear part.

    How do you send such a small kit so far away without braking it? Excellent work on such a tiny bug, I built the 1/48 academy version and it wasn't very good, but in their defense… it was an old kit.

      packing and sending the smaller stuff is easier than the larger stuff, lots of bubble wrap and packing peanuts!

    Can I ask for advice regarding a rotary tool, like a dremel? What features should I prioritize? Do you have any recommendations?

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  Месяц назад +2

      I don't personally use a rotary tool all that often in my model making, but the only thing that I would really call a consideration is having a cordless Dremel. I just hate the hassle of working around a cord. I just have an inexpensive Dremel brand cordless version and it does everything I need it to. Hope this helps.
