Both Famke Janssen and Jaymie Darnan, they lived their roles nicely. Got tears at some scenes. For some, life is cruel. Thanks for uploading, really a fantastic film.
Famke won me over by her portrayal of Jean Grey in the X-Men series but this is ones just at another level. She completely owned this role. Fantastic 👏🏾
@Barry Allen Jean wasn't Cables mother it was actually a clone of Jean named Madelyne Pryor.
Naw she was even better as the man killer Xenia Onatopp in Goldeneye.

One of the best movies out there! Rich in it's telling as well as acting. A true feast for the soul and a lesson on what poses as humanity and what IS humanity and if you can't see the difference now you will after this movie! This train leaves soon- catch it!

I agree! You can tell she’s tough, and being a female and shooting pool myself, I totally respect that! A lot of times some guys do not like it when you beat them, but most of the guys are nice and I respect them! I don’t have a cocky attitude either, I just play for fun! If I play with someone who is cocky I will beat them and I usually do! I love that feeling!
She can even play a nun or a serial killer I guess. What an actor.

Yeah. I do wish she'd have taken him quietly as that would have given her at least a day. But I understand why she didn't do that.
It goes both ways, child services is never about serving the interests of the child, its a business racket run through the courts. Parents lose but the child ultimately is the one that pays the price.

I love feeling depressed, lost, not caring, love it when the good guys lose. Makes me feel all energetic feeling this way. I love depression so much I can hardly wait to see this movie again and again. More movies like this. It truly makes me want bad things to happen.
Famek is gorgeous and I also love pool....just came across this movie. Started playing in Sept/19 after watching The Hustler and Color of Money...liked this one

Famke Janssen...............one of my favorite actresses, she doesn't receive the heralded credit that she deserves...... her ability to have you get lost in her performances, is a quality that deserves more acknowledgement.

This film gives the viewer a glimpse of the disappointments and unfairness of life. The heartaches yet realities one may face.
This was a very good movie!! Boy was I in for a surprise. So many abuses take place within the confines of the home where the children are supposed to be safe and protected . His father was an abuser but I think that came from his mom. Boy was she a pistol! Thank you for the upload and for your dedication and patience to make others like me being able to enjoy great picture quality , sound, and the excitement of the chase for the next best movie you have uploaded... There can only be one and you are that one!!! Thank you Popcornflix for the greatest movies!!

Good for you Famke! Don't be type cast. You were fun in Deep Rising and very cool in X-Men, but you've got more to offer, than simply an pretty face and a nice figure. This film proves that Hollywood hasn't got a clue what to do with a bold actress, who refuses to conform to the mold. Go for it girl! Big fan here! PS: They treated Bette Davis exactly the same way. You're in good company.

Good little film and always like have liked Famke. Going against the tide because I love sad or ambiguous endings if they are true the story and not just gratuitous. Also, the kid was good. Played subtle emotions well.
Finally someone appreciating proper endings.
The hardest thing to do- end a movie.
More satisfying to have to think.

My favorite up-loader (high quality and amazing selection), and after 4:30, I'm in love once again with Famke Janssen. What else could a guy ask for (along with the 6-pack of my favorite ale) to kill a boring Sat. night with? I may be easy, but I've got good taste. Thank-you Popcornflix, and you also Famke. (Almost forgot to mention that at the age of 62, it's been 52 or 53 years since my first game of billiards, so there's that also. I mean 8-ball is a decent-enough game , I guess, but billiards is truly the way to roll.)

A distasteful story, sure, but what a delivery. Janssen is awesome here, just note-perfect; the rest of the cast, director, music score, camera work, etc are great. Well worth watching, on several levels.

Omg....that was SO SAD!!! I was hoping for a happily ever after ending....I feel that women’s pain so strong. She just wanted her child and for her child to be okay. It’s sad how many broken families there are and how many parents are pushed away from their own child. A mother will do anything for her child.

Are you KIDDING!....true motherly love, would have seen her get a decent job, get custody of her child, and make a home for them, not shooting crap and sleeping on somebodies pool table.

She's not a hustler, she's a desperate player with last minute luck. She was given hand picked opponents.

As a parent you step aside if you know what that childs happiness/future should be , that dad knew the sad life his kid had , selfish to call cops! We are all selfish as parents if our children dont wanna b with us , however some manage to step out of their childs happiness unlike this father..good movie again!ty

Angels are all around us, if we just look, and they don't all wear halo and wings. He owns a pool hall, swears like a sailor and drink like a fish, but he would move a mountain to help his friend get her son back. This is what loving your neighbour is all about.

I felt her pain sad ending

How could there be "tears of joy?" Gully's mother DIED in the truck. The poor boy was trying to shift, but she obviously could not clutch. No brake light means she hit that light pole without trying to brake. That boy got to spend maybe one full day with his true mom, while they were on the run, and this is how it ended.
