The dome also fogged up when they started filming scenes, thats why you dont see through it too much. Ive been a hardcore first movie fan for as long as i can remember seeing it on betamax when i was 5. Ive tried to read as much behind the scenes facts as i can. They also had many different heads, a full mechanical head for close ups of the jaw opening with the inner mouth, partly mechanical heads and stunt and static heads. There was 2 stuntmen in the suit also (both suits fitted to their size and not Bolaji's). Ps, Ripleys white space suit was Lamberts suit reused and repainted with the light on the top removed.
I bought the figure a while back and I really like it. Aside from the noticeable nose, oversized feet, and visible feet joints, this is still a wonderful Alien Big Chap on the part of NECA. The sculpt is solid. The paint application is clean. The figure is nicely detailed. It comes with some pretty good accessories. For almost $40, the Alien Big Chap is definitely worth the money for sure. NECA always does an amazing job when it comes to the Alien figures and this one is no different. Thanks, Dean! This Big Chap is a must have for any Alien fan and certainly the best Neca has ever produced. I also have the milky dome version and the difference is quite big. I got rid of the first one, with the cut joints along with everything I had from McFarlane. They were cool 20 years ago, but didn't age well. The egg si just the cherry on the cake. I think that Jungle Hunter is undersized.
Awesome to see you reviewing these NECA figures. They are among their best. Re: the Big Chap, what keeps it from a nearly perfect score IMHO is the “face”. On the one hand NECA haven’t been able to get the shape of the dome right, and on the other, they did something odd with the upper lip and teeth: the lip is sculpted partially closed, but the teeth are fully exposed, which completely throws off the likeness, especially when viewed from the side. A shame really, because otherwise it’s a fantastic figure. I still prefer the small(er) Mafex / Medicom, the sculpt is simply superb.
@@deanknight333 IMHO the sculpt is (taking into account the problems arising from articulation) the best yet, topping even the Kotobukiya. It's not without its own drawbacks, but once you get the hang of the articulation and posing, it's the perfect Big Chap figure. I highly recommend it. A while ago it was on sale at BBTS.
totally agree with you on why HT can't do a visibly jointed Alien figure, had the 2.0 warrior a few years back then saw one of your videos where it was deteriorating around the mouth, I got spooked and sold it.
I believe they only made one suit for the movie that was originally supposed to have a clear dome but fogged up in the movie cause I never really saw any detail on the head in the movie plus it was dark
Love the Alien reviews its going to be an awesome two weeks. They had a few suits I think I know the stuntman had one for hanging upside down and he was a lot smaller. My mate bought the prime one so I have been privaliged to see that recently its amazing.👍

The alien is an amazing "Distortion" of anatomy and one can call it what one Wills but in any fashion it is definitely the Twisted mind of a individual with a extraordinary and gifted imagination!!!
The upper covetous spiked spine track just above the tubes for me such a wild display of alien diversity did I just can't get enough of❤❤❤ I love your video the beginning music background was simply chilling and ran Goosebumps up my spine!!!
After I watched this, I took down my old first edition neca big chaps from my shelf to admire it. I stupidly moved one of the legs and it broke. Guess i'm upgrading to this one now. lol
What I found unique about the end of alien he actually wasn't interested in killing Ripley she just panicked and destroyed him he technically was just along for the ride
And through the movie how he killed each member one by one in my book was just his defense tactics not knowing what a human was because technically they went after him using weapons of Destruction I believe anybody would put themselves in a defense position after that but that's just my opinion...
I’ve got the original one Neca made some time ago like the Ripley space suit and I’d say they are about similar besides the newer one having more prominent details as the older one is uses more black paint. The dome is also more foggy in the older figure with a black finish at the end while this newer one looks more see through. The teeth on the newer one are more detailed, shiny, and bigger than the older one, but the older one has a more light grayish paint for the inner mouth rather than it being all black like the newer one. Other than the things I mentioned it’s completely similar. Hope I can get this newer one along with the new alien romulus stuff. Just got my queen today and I’ve been waiting to buy it for so long very happy.
Which verision of the ultimate Neca Big Chap is this? There are at least two (orginal and re-issue, possibly more) if I'm not mistaken... Great review and keep it up!
Yes it's in the 7 inch scale. I own it myself and it fits with other Neca figures just fine. It'll just be a bit taller since that's how it was in the original Alien movie. Hope this helps!
I've been debating replacing My Big chap from NECA. the Dome always seemed tooooo milky white. this one sorta hits a good middle ground.. dunno.. I'm indecisive I need to find a direct comparison with my old one.

Yeah, it took a major nose dive after Alien 3 which i do like a fair bit. It has a very creepy atmosphere and the soundtrack is terrifying 😯
