Anybody who’s here ahead of next week? What a legendary showdown by two golfers at the top of their game. The fact that Phil was eleven shots clear of third and still finished three back of Henrik says it all. Here’s hoping for Ludvig to break through in majors next week! 🇸🇪
I wish Phil could have stolen this one from Henrik, but MY GOODNESS! What fantastic golf from both of them! Give Stenson all the credit in the world for an AMAZING final round. The fans won this year! I can't remember ever enjoying watching a final round as awesome as this...... Even though I was cheering for Mickelson 😎 Truly amazing
This is the best final round played by the final group ever! Henrik Stenson hits the ball like an animal! His swing is so simple and so repeatable and to beat a true legend like Phil Mickelson makes this win for Henrik that much more special. A 63 in the final round of the Open, Wow!
best final round ever....by so far ...if this was woods or nicklaus...we would never hear the end of it...henrik stenson can make claim to the best round of golf in history ...and it probably is...as it was the last round at the open
We still hear a lot about the 63 Miller shot in final round 1973 US Open and that was many moons ago. If Henrik won more often they would probably talk more about it.
I've been a fanatic follower of Henrik since he was a kid and knowing what adversity he's been through ....This still brings tears to my eyes . One of the best displays of golf I've ever witnessed .
Thank you for sharing this in high quality. Congratulations to Stenson and thanks to Michelson for playing so well and driving Stenson to a divine round. Champion golfer of the year, Henrik Stenson.
How many times have I watched this now ? I've lost count. The way Henrik and Phil separated themselves from the rest of the field really speaks to how much better they both were playing during this tournament.
... this type of competition exemplifies what golf is ... their unyielding wills to overcome each other & the course ... they both deserved to win but beneath the game was the incredible respect for each other ... Emile Griffith defined winning by saying "winning is imposing your will on your opponent(s)"- Henrik & Phil displayed this for entire round ... leads one to believe Henriks excellence in winning would not have been accomplished without the excellence of Phil ... perhaps "winning" is not the only ultimate prize but instead it is the level of competition that defined that win !!!
"perhaps "winning" is not the only ultimate prize but instead it is the level of competition that defined that win" - Of course, there is no fun in winning if it's a walkover from hole 1. Winning tastes better when it was fought hard against someone who didn't gave up until the 25th hour.
What’s amazing is Phil, now a 6 time Major Champion, has shot -14 at the Masters in 2015, -15 at the PGA in 2014, -17 at The Open in 2017 and didn’t win any of them. Those scores will win at those tournaments 99% of the time. I do think it speaks to his popularity. He has his fair share of wins but also has been in some legendary battles where he doesn’t always come out on top but is always the showman. And probably most importantly, when he doesn’t win, he always loses with total class. For 30+yrs Phil has shown tremendous sportsmanship. There aren’t many athletes that you can point to and say “act like that guy” because they’re all human and everyone makes mistakes and fumbles from time to time. But that’s one thing I truly admire about Phil. You can point to him and say that’s how a professional should act. Athletes aren’t role models but Phil is an exception to that rule.
Henrik, it was inevitable he would win one. Seriously long and straight, crisp iron player and deft touch. We cannot be too surprised that it all came together as he crushed troon
Wow that was just the best put together recap of an amazing moment it's hard to describe something so unreal so many different great storylines and what an incredible Top Notch performance by Henrik
Such an amazing drama, and a beautiful film! The first male Swede ever to win a major (I'm Swedish; no wonder I'm proud of Henrik). Truly a great achievement.
Wow that was just the best put together recap of an amazing moment it's hard to describe something so unreal so many different great storylines and what an incredible Top Notch performance by Henrik
Did you notice how Stensons wife gives Phill a hug before she embraces her husband? A small detail but such a great gesture, perfectly in line with the sportsmanship that the players them selves expressed.
Easily my favorite Open championship. The duel these 2 had was unbelievable to watch. What's crazy is Henrik could have easily lower than -20 had a few more putts dropped in the final round. Nonetheless, this is unforgettable.
I was sick for Phil to go 18 under and not win and have that 63 in the 1st round in not win. I found some happiness for Henrik but Phil coming in 2nd again was torture when he played so great. Definitely the highest quality of greatness from any final 2 song go in for a major championship. That was epic and this video was magnificent.
To this day I still think about how much it stung to see Phil's putt for 62 get absolutely screwed. But as the week unfolded there was no time to be bitter about that because those two guys were putting on SOME show. It became way too thrilling to look back on that putt. You knew whoever won would have to REALLY earn it.
2 great player make the best and onforgetelble rauond inte the golf historie, i still watshing the battle betwinn Henrik and Phil cuppels time in the month , i can't get stop wathsing the batlle, it's a maising game , it's the best golf i have ever see,Thank's Henrik & Phil M
Brilliant film, enjoyed that a lot! Phil deserves a lot of credit, not just for his play but for his class in coming 2nd. Be good to see them going head to head again at the Ryder cup!
Never played a course like it, 5 marker from Melbourne AU. 1987 played there with a senior pro from USA. over for the British Senior Open. First 9 downwind, 34, liked that then the back 9 into the wind, started 6,6,5,5...for 43, 9; shots worse, never done that before. So another open Links crossed of the list... In 2 trips to the UK played all open venues except Muirfield and the Irish courses.
The eternal question was answered in this tournament. "Here's the beef"!! Lol showed my age by this reference to a original Wendy's Berger commercial from late 70s or early eighties. Cute old lady, " Where's the beef"??? Lol
Great Round Rick! any chance of a wedge series with Min? it would be cool to see him give you a lesson after his comments. See if you can get those 4 shots on the next round!
Inconceivable how someone can go 17 under for the championship and not win the tournament. Even more amazing when you consider the horrendous conditions of day 2.
I’m shocked Hendrik has only one Major. I know that’s all you really need to go down as one of the best players of your era but still he’s got to have another one in him?
I don't see him winning any of the US based majors but another Open is not out of the question, but like Ankle Pick said he would need to have an outstanding week on the greens again to win
Henrik hasn't been great for the last year but I would definitely say he has the skill to win any tournament. If you don't count the US Majors he has won some of the biggest tournaments in the world e.g. Fedex Cup, Players, Tour Championship, Race to Dubai, WGC

There's no debate. This is the single greatest battle of a final round that has eve been played in the history of the game.
Agree.Just ahead of Watson and Jack
The best round of golf I’ve ever seen, usually if you have that score in a major, your a mile in front, Phil and Henrik were simply out of this world.
Years later and I can still watch this once a month! It's one of the best Sundays in golf history!
I’ve never seen Phil play any better and somehow he came in 2nd.... What a tournament!
Back to watch this. Even though an American, I was so happy to see Henrik win his major.
Hiloll
Same. Henrik was such a great player in those years, and he deserved at least one major.
only 88k views? Tremendous editing, brilliant storytelling.
Best round of golf, possible ever? Could not take my eyes of it for one second.
I wish Phil could have stolen this one from Henrik, but MY GOODNESS! What fantastic golf from both of them! Give Stenson all the credit in the world for an AMAZING final round. What a legend Beef is
He honestly seems like the nicest guy on the planet!
Rag n bone man, innit?!
In what way is he a 'legend'?
I'm sure he's a nice guy (like a lot of others), and he's a decent golfer.
But a 'legend"?

It was video game-esque…to see the two title contenders catch fire in the biggest pressure moment was almost beyond belief
The stuff of legends. Might be Henriks only major but one nobody will ever forget
when I saw this on TV, it made me want to try golf, and now I love it

This was better than the duel in the sun. Two golfing greats playing as close to perfection as it gets.
So why was it better?

Maybe the best golf tournament I have ever watched. Love Henrik too.
I love Stenson's action. His swing is a thing of beauty.
Henrik put on an absolute clinic with that 3 metal all day, the way he cracked that club on and off the tee is top top class👌👌
the amount of clutch putts, and pure iron shots hit from them? absolute class performance. never stop watching this replay of it all
Gotta love them 2 guys.
The Open and The US Masters are my 2 favourite majors to watch, it’s makes you feel what a beautiful game we play.
Watching in 2024. flashbacks watching this tournament. Beef was awesome
Thank you for sharing this in high quality. Congratulations to Stenson and thanks to Michelson for playing so well and driving Stenson to a divine round. Champion golfer of the year, Henrik Stenson.

One of the best displays of pure ball striking from Stenson

Phil Mickelson is like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. Lasting forever. And proved himself by being generous Henrik Stensons accomplishment on that day.
