Hey Fellas (and Ladies)!! I love doing these videos for y’all and I want to be able do more of them and more often, but I don’t really know much of what y’all want to know about your natural hair sooooo...please feel free to drop a suggestion or even a question!! That will help me to know how else I can help❤️
The only hair in the WORLD that will do this 😍. Black folks are so very special, right down to the ends of our hair. This was just satisfying to watch. Thank you for sharing!
I’m black but this is some stupid shit. Like chill a lot of people have black ancestors and aren’t black. Everyone looks different, we are all special for being ourselves not because I’m black
Naw don’t get it twisted. Only black hair does this. If your hair is coming out the shower looking thick and curly like this, then you have black in you! And that’s ok. My kids have Caucasian in them. Black people are still amazingly special. I’ll never go back on that!
Had a bald head for 20 years...went on holiday didn’t want to shave an bought the sponge.. That thing changed my life.Never knew having hair was so dope
Thank you, i bought this for my nephew who's 15 going through that "I want to be fly" phase. But i didn't have a clue how to use it and now i see it, its bomb! See Aunty got your back!
My boyfriend is starting his hair growth journey. I can't wait to show him this video so see if he wants to try out this style for his hair. Thanks for including all the products and having him explain more about the sponge. Appreciate yall! 😊😊😊
I've watched dozens and dozens of videos! This has been the most helpful from both of yall! Everyone has different hair and there has to be consideration with ages... Thanks for sharing!
Hi Cassidy, I have three cases of these sponges - all new and in their packaging. Do you think a beauty school or barbershop would take them? I wanted to check with someone in the cosmetology world before I put them in the dumpster or possibly on eBay?
These sponges can be ring worm super spreaders in a salon or barbershop. Unlike combs and clippers, etc., I don’t think there is a way you can effectively sanitize these sponges after each use on different heads.
He is very handsome!! Thank you for making this tutorial. I am a mom of a 1 year old boy and oh my goodness, there is so much I don't know about black boys hair! I thought they just cut it and thats it. I just learned about the curling sponge a week ago and brought it on Amazon. 😩🤦🏾♀️ lol I had no idea it was a thing and I am seeing the difference in my son's hair.❤
Thank you so much! I plan to get more of the men videos up, I’m currently low on male heads to use lol but I have been wanting to get one record and uploaded for y’all too so hopefully there will be another one very soon! ☺️ is there any video content concerning the men that you are specifically interested to see? Let me know, that would really help me too as I look for the next male head to do!
Lol 💕💕I wish I had tried this on my hair also! Is your hair long or in a short cut? I believe I have seen women use it on longer hair also and I wonder if it will still do something for my current length🤔
Nice. I just got one today. I had mine done for the first time when I went back to Cali. I gotta say, I really dig it. My wife LOVES it lol. I got a hair cut, and that’s when it was done for me. For while, I had no clue how people we’re doing that to their hair lol.
My quarantine hair (coming up on 1 year) is coming along good. Just wash, leave in condition and pink oil. Sponge is working great and looks good. I'm 58 years old.
I love this information because I had a tough time finding the right method to maintain my son's natural hair. We started using the sponge method a few months ago. His hair was a work in progress but eventually I started to see it shape. I think we are doing pretty good but I need to know how to maintain his sponge curled hair.
It may be tedious, but you're going to have to keep doing this method in order to maintain it, OR you can just lightly do it for 10 minutes after his showers. Hope this helps!
For everyone wondering 5 years later does this method still work yes it does because I just did it and am shocked of the results so first I combed my hair got in the shower washed my hair like crazy got everything out of it and then after I got out I put some blue magic in there and then used the sponge and I have short hair but my hair looked fabulous when I did it
Great video! I've been looking for the name of this hairstyle for months because I've always been a low cut waves type person and want to try something new. Got a lot of inspiration from John Boyega and Kevin Hart and Chadwick Boseman so very excited to try it.
Man. This is always my best haircut. Everybody loves my hair like this. Currently I’m growing my hair out and have 2 strand twist. I’m debating on cutting my hair back to this level but I’m so indecisive 😐. Especially because longer hair =more money spent to make it look good. Vs just getting a $10 cut and sponge the hair like in this video 🤔.
Yeah I had my hair straighten and tied into a medium ponytail. Shit was fye, but due to my hair texture, it was such a bitch to keep it laid down all the time. So I cut it off. Gonna grow my hair like this.
I'm so thankful I came across your videos. I have an amazing soon in law that is biracial and he is wanting me to style his hair for him and being I'm Cherokee I handing had any experience with styling any other ethnic hair. In really wanting to learn, excited to learn in fact but I need suggestions and help as I don't want to damage his hair, which is beautiful already. He correctly wears the sides and back into a fade with the top and partial back long. I had hoped his mother which is African American could reach me products and so forth but shockingly she has told me she can't even braid hair and has ALWAYS had others style or cleanse her own hair. So we are going to learn together. Anyway can anyone suggest what products I need to keep his hair healthy and which products I need for certain style such as braiding, stack curls(finger or comb twisting)
I love how you are no none scene about hair being dry. Your first vid I saw, you stopped and made it very clear, “if you want your hair to curl, YOU HAVE TO WET YOUR HAIR.” But my sisters for my hair together after they saw what I was doing. But I’m glad I had a great start with your video.
Thank you for doing this because I was looking for a new hairstyle and since then I was thinking about trying a new hairstyle and I came across this one and I loved it
Thank you so much for this video. I have that sponge and the one bow wow released. I get good coils but my hair was stubborn. I was not using a detangle brush to shoes the product.
WOW this method really worked! My hair is much shorter than his, however it still curl up decently enough. One question I have how often should you do this process? Also is it okay to add the curling cream daily?
Yes! I am so happy to hear that, Thank you for coming back to let me know how it worked for you. I would say to do it as often as you see fit, if that’s a few minutes each day or every other day (be sure that you are detangling regularly like every few days or once a week still. Constantly doing your coils like this without detangling could possibly lead it to loc after some time. As far as the cream, I would try to limit it to every other day or like twice a week just to avoid product build up from topping products on. The product in the video is a bit heavy, so I say that in consideration of that product or products like it. For daily use, a spritz of water+leave in conditioner mix or a spray leave in from the store is fine to use for re-moisturizing or dampening your hair again.
This works well for me for about a week after I get a haircut but after that no matter how long I brush for I can’t curl my hair any products I can use to fix this problem
Ohhh I’m not sure, but you can find them both in target or the price should be online too. Also, you can use water and soap or shampoo to wash the sponge
Thank you for this video it was really helpful. One question tho: would one need to comb out the hair fully before beginning the curling process or should I just begin the process as the hair is ?
