Thanks Tammy for your inspiration! I grew up Presbyterian but have gone to non denominational Churches since I became an adult. We lost our oldest child and I wrestled with God but was very unhappy. After listening to you, I came back to God and turned over all my anger and resentment about losing Nathan. I felt a peace I haven't felt for a long time. Again, thank you so much. God bless you!

To address many comments I see here.....Although it gets tiring.....all this anti Catholic/anti Mary rhetoric.....is familiar...comes from ignorance of the facts, & what we actually believe. Mary, the mother of Jesus, prays for us when we ask...points us to her son....she is not worshipped, praised...but simply honored & loved! Catholics believe in 'the communion of saints' We pray for each other and for those who have died...We also ask saints like Mary to pray to God for us. The pictures, statues are simply like our pics of those we love.....they remind us of the saint, of Jesus, of Mary. They are not idols anymore than a statue of historical figure or picture of your family is ! Protestant Reformation & subsequent many many denominations that have developed are the ones deciding that Catholics are idolators! So by all means if you insist that we are (go for it), we cannot/do not need to convince you otherwise! The actual 'idols' in our world are many....anything (especially materialistic) that we love , care about more than we care about God....is our idol....is our god! This is what we worship...these are idols before the Lord ! BTW....THE ROSARY. begins with THE APOSTLES CREED....Every decade begins with The Lord's Prayer...then 10 requests for Mary to pray for us! Each decade begins with Meditation on an event in the Life of Jesus...which is the most important part of the rosary! Mary only wants to bring us closer to her Son, certainly not replace Him!

Thank you for your wonderful testimony, Tammy, so down to earth & humble ! I was raised Catholic, dropped out in my somewhat wild youth (about age 19).....finally returned (about age 40) ...will not bore you with details...but became so very much stronger & confident in my faith than in my previous Catholic life.....I am so happy I returned....no more looking for a better option....I was/am Home !
Now is a strange time in the Catholic Church...so much scandal, uncertainty, divisivness from within...but no matter what I will not be leaving, because "the gates of hell will not prevail ' Jesus is Divine founder, leader ! He is the Church...so no matter how much people mess up & try to damage or do away with His church...it will prevail ! Two of the key reasons IMO that Catholicism is lucky to have is the belief of Divine Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist (receiving His Body & Blood at communion) . I would not give this up for anything! The sacrifice of the Mass and all the Sacraments can assist us invaluably. Having Mary as a direct ally is also a true gift...& strengthens our love & devotion to Jesus !

I have a metal rosary that is a replica of the traveling rosary that was given to the soldiers in WWI. It is metal and very sturdy. I used to have it in a drawer and never used it. One day I took it out and put it in my pocket and now I have it in my pocket always - even my pajamas - it is always with me - so whenever I reach in my pocket it is there - the crucifix on one end and the miraculous metal of Mary on the other.

I started praying the rosary with my sister for almost a week now and it’s completely true! Starting the day with the rosary has made each day feel so much better. It’s like extra protection and I feel a greater mental fortitude. Building a stronger relationship with God this lent has been the most beautiful experience so far. I thought I loved God before but it’s grown so much and just wow no words for feeling that depth❤ God bless you all!

Most people think that talking to God is like Moses or like the prophets did, but God's realm is the inner life of emotions, ideas and interest and connecting with them in you is one of the gifts of prayer. God's conversation with us starts when we agree with the impulse of cleaning and seeking peace inside and with others... Little by little His voice becomes clearer and we listen to Him ever more directly.

As a long time follower of Christ, who has given my heart and my life to him, and accepted his free gift of salvation through Christ dieing for my sins, which we are required to do to enter heaven, I feel compelled to comment.
People may feel that they need to have certain objects to be close to God, and it’s simply not the case.
God says what he gave us to get closer to him is his word ……. the Bible.
He never gave us a rosary or a statue or fancy candles etc. He just gave us Jesus…….❤
I am not judging, believe me when I say this, I mean no disrespect or harm.
I know it’s a thing in the Catholic religion, but you truly do not need a rosary to get close to God to talk to God or to cope better in the day, you just need a personal relationship with God…….and to talk to him and seek him in prayer, you don’t need a priest.
It says in 1 Timothy 2:5 clearly not to pray to anyone else other than God and Jesus who along with the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, not Mary or anyone else living or deceased.
All of these other things or humans some people use to feel closer to God, but but they’re not necessary and God actually detests that, it says this in scripture.
All you need is God …….❤
See mankind has put into place objects or people , rules etc to create religion, that’s how we reach out to God and that is much different than accepting Christ as your personal savior, and having a personal relationship with him it’s called a relationship.
We need a relationship with God, that’s how he reaches out to us, not a religion.
There is no purgatory. No one can help get you into heaven, by praying for you either and good works don’t get you in either, you can’t earn your way in………it’s a FREE gift. It’s just a simple as accepting that Christ died for your sins, you need to be forgiven for the sins you have done and accept his forgiveness and ask him into your heart and life, then from there you live for him……no longer for yourself.
Man has made it much more complicated than that by creating different religions and adding in all of these things that humans have thought up not God. It’s so simple, it’s man that complicates it.
So whether you realize it or not you do need God and you do need to be saved, life does not end when you die on this earth, you go somewhere forever.
Most Catholics are not aware of what scripture says about the above.

You talking to God is one way communication, . God taking to you is through the word of God written by people of God with their experiences. These biblical words are preserved for ages. Faith comes from hearing the word itseems. So it's true.. Pray with all kinds of prayer but it should be truths, your truths that's real to you really... your heart too.. We used to read the word and everyone in our family would tell what it meant it's memories too beautiful, too loud, too clear too.. I’ve never in my life exonerated Mary. Does the Bible tell us we should? I’m only part way through reading it. I haven’t seen anything of that nature yet even though I’m reading parts of the New Testament as well as the Old
Veneration and asking Mary to pray for us isn’t in the bible, it’s from Orthodox and Catholic tradition. Because of this, Christian’s outside these traditions view the practice with skepticism, not uncommonly deeming it as idolatry. It is easy to understand why an individual would come to such a conclusion. However, it is the result of Protestantism and by implication the rejection of tradition. Tradition determined what books constitute the bible.
Jesus wants people to pray directly to him, and to fellowship directly with him. We set up hurdles like saints and Mary to interfere with that relationship. Jesus is too beautiful and wonderful to be demoted like that.

Please brother and sisters in Christ - as a former Catholic, please know that praying the rosary is promoted within the Catholic Church as a means of strengthening one's faith, resisting evil, growing spiritually, and generally benefiting society. While some of the prayer of the rosary is scriptural, the whole second half of the "hail Mary" and portions of the "hail, holy queen" are blatantly unbiblical. There is no scriptural basis for one praying to mary or addressing her as a holy, or calling her our life and our hope.
Try to find it in the Bible it's not there.
That being said, as long as you are directing your prayer to God and not Mary, then there's nothing wrong with the rosary. If it brings us closer to the Holy Trinity - God, the Son, the Holy Ghost then Amen.

Catholics believe Mary is an intercessorar. Rather than criticizing perhaps read from credible books on what Catholics believe..

Most people know that Jesus died on the cross but they don’t understand it. This is the absolute key to eternal life itself.
The world has broken our Holy and perfect God’s Moral Law. The wages of sin is death, but Jesus paid the price!
All liars will have their part in the lake of fire, but if someone, in God’s case, perfectly innocent, pays your fine, it is legal and just that the righteous judge allows us to go free.
God wills no man to perish so He sent is only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
When Jesus died, He said, “It is finished.” Meaning the debt is paid.
The meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice is a true ultimate salvation of the world, that if we repent and believe(not just believe He exists, but trust and follow His ways) in Him.
It is so important the everyone understands this and chooses to follow Jesus, and I pray everyone hears the calling of the Holy Spirit and turns from their own ways that lead to death, and turn to His ways that lead to the only possible chance for eternal life.

She speaks about the rosemary, in every sentence, as if that is the way into Catholic. It's not. Jesus is the way.
Jesus is the Way but Mary like a mother brings us to Jesus. Jesus loves His mother and because She was humble full of grace and in a special way prepared by God the Father for a role of God’s Mother He has made her our mother too . Maria is not a God or Way but she brings us to Jesus Who is the Way and she has brought Tammy Peterson .
If you were asked about the Tabernacle, you would speak about the Tabernacle, if you were asked about the Eucharist, you would speak about the Eucharist, if you were asked about St Cuthbert, you would speak about St Cuthbert - I do not see your point....

@@kbeetlesI take issue with the “Our Father,” because as a saved believer in Jesus Christ, I’m forgiven by his shed blood for my sins - not for forgiving others their trespasses (which was used by Jesus to make the Jews’ laws too difficult to keep and to hopefully bring them to the end of their own self-righteousness, Romans 10:3) and cry out for someone to SAVE them - NOT as a prayer for today AFTER Jesus paid for the sins of the world at Calvary!
She didn't have a conversation with God, she spoke to him, as we all do in prayer. He never speaks to any of us back, ever!!!

But the dozens and dozens of babies that die weekly, rosaries did no good.
