In One Loop I Jumped to Every Planet Without the Ship [Outer Wilds]

This is the jump I've been working toward since my first Sun Station jump a year ago (1 year!?) - a visit to every location on the ship map in a single loop using just the suit. As you might imagine it took an ridiculous number of tries. I have something like 30gb of footage of nearly successful jumps, and not-so-successful jumps. Most failed attempts died at either the Sun Station or the Probe Cannon, but there were lots of other fun moments like slamming into an island on Giant's Deep just as I made it onto the planet at the end of the loop. I also killed myself by lava when Hollow's Lantern orbited directly into me unexpectedly while I was flying to the Quantum Moon. Believe it or not that happened at least twice. Maybe three times.
Not sure what I'll try next, but I've heard there might be a DLC coming soon, so maybe there will be some interesting content in that.
Important Moments:
0:00 - Timber Hearth
0:58 - The Attlerock Planetfall
1:50 - Ash Twin Planetfall
2:16 - Ember Twin Planetfall
2:19 - First Refuel
4:04 - I nearly collide with the Interloper (Notice the mini-map appear)
5:03 - Sun Station Planetfall (Stationfall?)
5:33 - I nearly collide with Sun Station Debris
6:03 - I loose a great opportunity to snapshot the Quantum Moon. Instant regret.
7:08 - Brittle Hollow Planetfall
7:15 - Second Fuel Refill
8:00 - I nearly die trying to be clever with my Hollow's Lantern landing
8:13 - Hollow's Lantern Landfall
8:24 - I nearly die again by lava
8:38 - I waste time because I approached the south pole of Brittle Hollow instead of the North Pole and have to orbit around
8:43 - Beautiful shot of one of Hollow's Lantern's Meteors coming in
9:15 - Third Refuel
9:17 - Best luck I've had yet locating the Quantum Moon (Also, can we appreciate that photograph? The composition is perfect!)
9:37 - I achieve orbit backwards
10:51 - Quantum Moon Planetfall (Moonfall?)
11:49 - Fourth Refuel
12:24 - White Hole Station Stationfall
13:05 - Fuel top-up for the next part
13:26 - I wait for the Interloper orbit to align
15:30 - Interloper Planetfall (Loperfall?)
15:42 - I wave to my ship still waiting for me on Timber Hearth
18:05 - Dark Bramble Bramblefall
18:52 - Fifth (or Sixth if you count the top-up) Refuel
21:00 - Probe Cannon Cannonfall
21:57 - I totally forget which module entrance I can exit the probe cannon through.
21:50 - Giants Deep Waterfall
22:00 - Giants Deep Islandfall
22:21 - Supernova
22:45 - I die by Supernova (Supernovafall?)
"Hey your ship is ready for-"
*"Don't need it."*
*Jumps into orbit*
😂
Imagine Felspar just sitting there he sees another Hearthian fly in out of nowhere, steal his fuel then fly off without a word lmao
He would be so proud

"Holy sh¡t what was that?!"
This is nuts, only a crazy guy stuck in a time loop would try it.

I'd tell you that you say this every loop but... what's the point?
Imagine what kind of stupid things Feldespar would do if it was him the one stuck in a time loop

Wow the clickbait, he jumped in every single astronomical body in Outer Wilds not just every planet smh, don’t fall for it
I didn't know reverse clickbait is possible...
This is legitimately how my friend Ben talks. Weird. Also yeah, pretty click baity. Mans didn't even go to the eye tho so we cant judge.
Didn't go to the eye not a real run.
@@incidentlyaniguana2193 agreed.
I don’t need to fall for it because he already did it for me
"Hey Gabbro! Where's your ship?"
"...Where is yours???"
gabbro, i successfully landed on everything in our solar system in one loop without my ship!
what? even the quantum moon? and the sun station?
yep!
nice job hatchling!
Should be an achievement called "Just a hop skip and a jump."
Achievement Unlocked: "Places to be."
This is absurd. You have my total and utter respect. Was this a case of beating Outer Wilds, realising your life then felt empty, and finding a way of getting 500 extra hours of gameplay outta the game?
Also, DLC HYPE
That was basically it, yes. :)
that's about where I'm at lol. I've been making other people play the game blind to get a contact high off of the sense of discovery I'll never be able to get for myself again
i feel called out
@@synarion2462 Hello Synarion
_Thank's for testing our new suit !_

Now do it without refueling 😂😂😂😂
Feldspar must've been like.....wtf
player: hi feldspar
feldspar: how are you here
player: bye :)
he would be so proud
You know, I landed my ship on the sun station the other day, and I felt sooooo proud of myself... and here you come along, like "hold my beer."
I always thought feldspar saying they wanted to stay in bramble was just them being like "I wouldn't know how to leave if I wanted to but I don't so" but they're right next to two exits lmao
ok landing on the sun station not only without using the warp tower but without using the SHIP is one of the coolest things I've ever seen anyone do in this game
Though this run is incredibly impressive, I’m obligated to let you know that the sun is not a planet
Good thing I didn't jump onto the Sun then :)
Actually, only 5 of the many bodies they jumped to were planets, many were satellites, moons or stations.
(Actually I just realised it's a reference to how they talk about it during logs! My bad!)
@@synarion2462 You just let the sun jump to you
@@synarion2462 Well why the hell not? Taste that solar radiation
I'm calm watching this and this guys landed on sun Station
No I'm actually pretty impressed by how you plan the route and actually made it
Even HOLLOW'S LANTERN???? DUDE THAT WAS CRAZY
@@StarRiverAnythings Dude, it was such a jump scare when he is flying back away from Hollow's Lantern and he almost falls back in!
@@SolDizZo yeah ike
literally thought it was not possible and you had to reach it via ash twin warp
@@Me-wx1mt It's not too difficult to do with the ship if you know how orbits work. The hard part is just getting _out_ since the Sun's gravity actually overpowers the artificial gravity of your ship while you're in it.
Doing it free hand with nothing but zero-G suit thrusters is pretty bonkers though
Slate has got to be pissed that he built the ship only for you to jump around without it
I'm sure he'll get over it in 23 minutes
Am I the only one who didn't know about the secret entrance on Dark Bramble?? I am in awe. Now we need to see the inclusion of The Stranger with the DLC out. :)
That is where Feldspar sends you and you learn about how to get into the Giant's Deep core
Felspar mentioned he fell through some vines. There it is.
I'm impressed you could do this without scout boosting, huge props to you!
What's that?
@@Funny_skeleton_man When you fire the scout, it propels you backwards. It makes shipless space flight much easier
@@Funny_skeleton_man basically recoil
I think equally impressive is that they do the whole thing without taking any impact damage whatsoever.
@@suzyb7718 8:05 they took impact damage on hollow's lantern
This is unbelievable, and your use of orbital mechanics is nothing less than sexy.
Feldspar would have landed on the eye tho...
Well Feldspar isn't here right now, is he?
I can just imagine the hatchling doing this and then telling Feldspar about it in the next loop. Feldspar would probably try to beat their record tbh
I like to consider each playthrough partially non-canonical, because I imagine the hatchling does many, many more things than we're actually privy to in the loops.
Things like this.
Absolutely this.
There will never, ever be a game like this one again, nothing I've played perfectly recaptures the feelings this game gave me
PoV: You are Feldspar
And I thought I was skilled for parking a ship on the sun station
This was all pretty cool but man the fact that you made it to the sun station and back is really what made me shake my head in impressed disbelief. This was awesome dude!
Edit: excuse me did you just take the backdoor tunnel to feldspar’s ship what the fuck
I appreciate the quantum moon photo so much, it's really artistically composed.
This is an amazing run. Also shows how incredibly powerful the ship in this game actually is, letting you brute force around all of this orbital mechanics stuff.
I like to imagine that the protagonist in their near infinite loops of these 22 minutes did eventually manage to do this
@@LawnMower_gaming1 you know I wonder if its possible to complete the game in a single run, if so that one run can't be canon.
@@robertgunther851yeah it could be cannon
spoilers of some details:
(assuming you mean the hatchling before gaining the knowledge of the time loop) i enjoy this idea, but i think realistically 9 million loops isn't that many when we're thinking of the probabilities here
to begin with, the hatchling is mostly going to be doing the same stuff every loop, like the other NPCs. the only butterfly effect would come from the quantum moon (and other quantum randomness), and the player observing the directions of the orbital probe cannon. those introduce variation, but not that much
for another thing, the hatchling would SUCK at flying with the jetpack/ship every single loop. you're green, every time. they have a model ship set up for you to practice on in case you need it. the player GETS amazing at flying because they can keep learning through the loops
eventually, through pure chance, they would do it, but 9 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the massive number they'd need. it's a bad bad bad chance
@@Xenophilius "there is a chance someone beats bloodbath on their first attempt"
@@Xenophilius The hatchling retains their memories, just like we do
This is utterly impressive, amazing job. I’m sure pye would be jealous you got to the sun station without even a shuttle
This stuff is amazing bro. The mastery you have of this game is incredible.
It's super interesting to see this run because I did this too, but in a totally different order! To be fair I skipped the probe cannon because of fuel restraints, but managed to get out of giant's deep and ended the run at the eye. I recorded it as well if you want to see it :)
Yes please
........ someone give this guy a medal, he landed on the SUN STATION!!!!!, confused chert and feldspar, found a secret entrance to dark bramble, and figured this entire thing out, keeping a cool head through it all!!! this is... wow. just awesome, nice job!!!
My dude just orbiting the sun, mad respect
Yeah, I knew I was terrible with these controls but stuff like this makes me realize just how terrible.
"Silent as the night and smooth as silk. *pats jetpack* Have to say girl, I think you're doin' all the hard work."
Otherwise known as the traveling spaceman problem
Landing on the sun station without tele's OR the ship? That's fucking WILD. OUTER WILD (roll credits)
Extremely impressive. Also proof that you could hypothetically complete the entire Ship Log without once flying your ship
Man I love how you peacefully fall into giant deep at the end😭
I can’t help seeing gabbro looking through one eye while meditating, as the hatchling dives soundly.. and then smiles, knowing you finally did it🥲
This is incredible. The orbital maneuvering is so cool to watch. Would love to see a route that also gets eotu before the supernova, though AFAIK that's only possible with teleports/shuttles to get off gd?
It's also possible to ride an island into space and jump off while you're up there. Or a tornado directly without the island.
Funny story - I planned this route to end the run on Giants Deep since (I thought) I couldn't get off. After that initial plan which I first thought of 11 months ago or so, I figured out how to (and successfully did) get off of Giants Deep by riding an island & by swimming into a tornado like I mentioned in my other comment.
It wasn't until I just read your comment here that I thought to actually apply that knowledge to the route and have now realized that I don't actually have to end the run on Giants Deep.
Thanks for poking me in my mental blind-spot :)
@@synarion2462 huh, I tried that a bunch of times and never managed to get into orbit or escape--I'll have to try again
@@Kaiasky Did you just boost straight away from Giants deep? Not sure, but I'm fairly certain that doing that will just get you pulled back in. You need to enter orbit and use that to eventually escape the gravity well entirely - which means boosting at a tangent to the planet rather than just straight up.
@@synarion2462 🧠
your understanding of orbital mechanics is cool to watch
I'm impressed that the tidal forces of the Hourglass Twins are enough to escape the Sun's gravity, I thought you would be stuck on the sun station without a ship / warp pad.
I don't thing that's hourglass twins doing that. When you're on the sunstation, you already have orbital speed. That's why it's effectively zero g while you on the sunstation. All you need to do is to propell yourself prograde and you're outta there
@@Noah-wx7fm the physics of this game is beyond me. Its insane how well it was executed
At 8:24 I'm thinking, "uhh down... Down!! YOU GOING DOWWWWN!!" LAVA OMG ok you safe now yayyyy"
WOAH DUDE this is awesome! I didn't think you'd go to all the moons and stuff too
That photograph is indeed awesome
Imagine if orbiting the black hole at brittle hollow made time dilation so the 22 minutes was shorter
And yet there's not even an in-game achievement for going interplanetary without a ship. Sad... WP gamer.👍
I was not expecting this to be possible at all, well played !! you deserve more views for that tbh
This is obscenely impressive! My only regret is that I can't share this with my friends... because none of them have played Outer Wilds yet! D:
Now go to the eye of the universe without the vessel
Theoretically, couldn't you make a faster path by warping between planets via the quantum shrine?
I tried that a few times but it didn't really seem to cut down on the time. Between waiting for the moon to appear, flying to it, getting the shrine to show up, waiting for the moon to teleport to the correct location, flying to the new destination, and repeating, it was just faster in most cases to fly directly there.
Certainly faster to fly for the Attlerock + Ash Twin + Ember Twin bit. Next stop is the sun station which doesn't have a moon stop, then out from there to Brittle Hollow. Once you're on BH you could take the moon to either Dark Bramble or Giant's Deep, but you still need to hop off at the interloper at some point and by that time in the run it's already on its last loop. Maybe there's time to take the QM to DB then stop off at the interloper before going to GD.
@@synarion2462 you actually have a mental map of the entire orbit set during the 22 minutes, don't you?
@@ivocanevo lol, not quite. I did leave the game playing from wakeup and recorded the map for the entire 22 minutes so I could look for alignments more easily though.
@@synarion2462 dude respect the time doing this was well spent
This is absolutely majestic, through and through
Insane. I didn't think you'd go for the Sun Station, it's not a planet so landing on every planet would not include it but when I realized you were going for it I was amazed, and baffled. Respect.
This was so elegantly executed. You deserve high praise for managing such a feat.
This guy just got on the solar station without a ship
I started watching this video planning to make some smart-alecky comment like "What? No Hollow's Lantern?" or "Next, try a no damage run," or "Now do it without using the scout for momentum!" But... wow. You DID.
And you added lots of extra touches, too, like, making a point of actually entering the White Hold Station and Orbital Probe Cannon instead of just standing on them, and going through the hidden tunnel in Dark Bramble, and making sure to actually walk on land on Giant's Deep. Many kudos!
I assume it's probably possible to exit Giant's Deep from one of the islands when it's in space. If so, it would be neat to see a run similar to this in which the astronaut ends up back with Slate at the campfire on Timber Hearth as the sun explodes.
And you did the Sun Station too! That is unbelievable!! Great job.
Feldspar would be so proud
in awe the entire time. then The End kicks in and i was just GOGOGO!! legendary performance sir.
Wow.... didn't even land on the sun!
Seriously though, the title doesn't do this vid justice. Amazing skills mastering the physics of this game
Absolutely insane!! Incredible planning. I imagine many many hours were spent on this and a few frustrating moments
This is amazing. And that's also why I absolutely love this game. The mystery aspect of it is incredible, learning and exploring. But the navigation part is good enough and deep enough by itself that just messing around in this miniature universe is fun in it's own right.
Dude your videos are insane. You inspire me to find some ridiculous stunts to pull off.
Do it! Then upload a video of it and let me know so I can watch and admire too :)
@@synarion2462 I've only managed one trick jump so far, you can check out the video if you want. I'm trying to launch myself from a gravity cannon to the sun station but no luck so far lol.
dang i thought no one else had tried this, congrats on doing it way better than me several years previously!!
This is beautiful, I've been looking at this for four hours
bruh I just noticed by the time they're at ash twin the fuckin tornado isn't even there yet
That was masterful. Well done
Impressive! Very nice! Feldspar is proud of you!
this is insanely impressive holy shit. the mere possibility that there is a window where you can probably jump from the sun to the interloper (or vice versa, one way is probably way easier bc one body is slightly ahead) is insane. im not sure if its been done, it sounds really annoying, but i lowkey want to try
Me, starting this video, getting ready to comment a joke saying "that's cool... Now jump to the sun station". The moment I saw you sizing up the jump from Ember Twin my jaw hit the floor haha. And to then include Hollow's lantern too? Major, major props
That was really cool, nice routing, all that without probe boost, that was smooth =)
That sun station one was SMOOOOTH. Very impressive video
this is pretty cool, nice job
i didnt even know you could get to feldspar that way
The title really undersells the feat. Great job!
Not to nitpick, but I'd like to see a run like this that includes the Eye.
that picture of the QM is really good
That was unbelievable to watch, in awe.
Wow this is beyond my imagination, incredible talent here, everything calculated to the second, also I played a lot but I don't remember that shortcut in dark bramble, maybe I used it as exit not entrance
Muito bom!!!! Very nice Bro!
"Thanks for reminding me once again that the sun is not a planet"
Pretty accurate representation of how Satellites use the Gravity of other planets to boost around the Solar System
That's impressive. I once jumped from TImber Hearth to AttleRock, but I died on impact, so I thought you probably needed the ship to slow down, and I didn't try again. I might be able to manage a second attempt, just for my own personal sense of achievement, after seeing this, but I don't think I could ever replicate anything close to this feat.
cant believe i didnt comment on this the first time i saw it. this is so incredibly impressive, great job
What an incredible accomplishment, your skills at navigating through the gravity fields and other aspects of the physics engine is astounding. Very cool video!
I was wondering though: Do you think it would be at all possible to also include the Eye of the Universe as one of the locations you visit? I'm thinking it might be possible if you can find a route that ends with visiting the Ash Twin for the warp core and then going through Dark Bramble to get to the eye. But maybe it would simply be too tight to make it all the way in time?
I had no idea there was a "shortcut" to Feldspar's camp, holy crap
You could do something cheeky by using the quantum moon to travel to each of the different planets
But you did it the hard way! Good job
sick route mate
this man is very talented he gets my sub
also HOW!!!!
This was an incredible showing. Now what are the odds of performing this with the final voyage included so you can also get the eyefall in there
Props for not even using ash twin nor quatum moon teleportation to make it easier.
A few days ago I managed to beat the game shipless and felt pretty proud. May start trying to do this now. It seems way harder though.
Would it be possible to go to the Stranger and the Eye as well?
That'd be amazing! Probably would require rerouting completely but it'd make for such a great speedrun category!
this feels like a very feldspar thing to do
This guy just casually lands on foot on the solar station
i love the supernovafall in the chapter title lol
i did not know that volcano planet had that and i've been on it, searching for stuff what the hell
Cool video! *now do the stranger too* 🔫👀 (/hj seriously this was nuts man, fantastic job!!)
also i imagine you mustve been shitting yourself when you missed the probe cannon on the first pass and the supernova music started playing lmfaooo
22:12 ~ 22:22 - i know it's a game and stuff, but i don't know why, i really hate/fear that sound now :-/
That being said, amazing run, and the best thing of all is that the supernova explosion happened EXACTLY when you landed on the last planet, lol
The ship is just like "bro wtf"
Watching through this whole video with the Interstellar soundtrack in the background was the best thing i've done all day.
What an amazing video
