    Paul sir -what synonyms we can use for "a lot".

    • @PracticeEnglishwithPaul
      @PracticeEnglishwithPaul  8 лет назад +3

      amitesh rai: a lot of, lots of, loads of (informal), hundreds of, dozens of, bunch of, oodles of, vast amount of etc)

    • @amitr6659
      @amitr6659 8 лет назад +1

      Practice English with Paul -
      can I use: a bunch of time I go there
      instead of: a lot of time I go there.

    • @PracticeEnglishwithPaul
      @PracticeEnglishwithPaul  8 лет назад +1

      amitesh rai, that is the problem my friend. Some of these words must be used specifically: a bunch of people. With "a lot of," you can't make a mistake.

    It should be practise English with Paul, not practice; to practise is the verb form. You could say English practice with Paul.

    What about "I take pleasure in..."?

    • @PracticeEnglishwithPaul
      @PracticeEnglishwithPaul  5 лет назад

      it's quite rare and specific. You'd never say: I take great pleasure in shopping/buying shoes. A bit old fashioned and formal. But we do say" to take pleasure in the misfortune of others (Schadenfreude)
