If you ever see a fawn with the ears curled like that, please call a local wildlife rescue! It means they are dehydrated and calcium deficient, meaning they haven’t been fed for a few days.
Because you made a point to ruin the fun of this video, I'm now going to active neglect reporting any curled ears I find on, not only young deer, but any creature on god's green earth. Are you proud of yourself? You're monster.
Aww what a cutie! I hope they help that little nugget out because her ears are curled which means she must’ve lost her mommy because she hasn’t been receiving enough calcium from the milk her mamma should be providing. Poor little thing. She’s probably crying for help
Not enough information in video to surmise that.. In my 2 decades.of actually WALKING with wild deer, I've seen little ones (especially @ this first birth week, where "everyone with long legs is a friend") who simply are too active, come out of shade & overheat, or are too busy "exploring" for momma to feel safe feeding till evening..like 11pm..It is only one symptom, & we often do not think "where is the other 1 or 2 fawns?" we tend to tunnel vision & follow human guidelines, rather than read deer.. I've had to relearn a lot in 20 years. I have seen Momma suffering mastitis, causing slow development of fawns, I've seen low milk production/interrupted feeding.. I've been alongside a Momma as she glared down situations such as this, hiding with another fawn..500 feet away..loaded for bear, elephant, wild boar & Godzilla.. immense tension, ready to drop a hammer of doom..as her fawn approached people who were concerned.. I took a pic of them from behind Momma, waked an indirect path to them before they tried to take it to a cheaper for being out in the open , apparently being "abandoned" because they saw it on the edge of a woodlot, and came to them.. they fought me & wouldn't listen, then I pulled up pics , vids of the Momma & family & I, they codnt believe the narration as deer were bedding next to me, vocally communicating contentment, gather, or "we're leaving here, stack up/follow" and interacting and having individual & family communication generally, primarily language of eyes, ears, and body microexpressions.all wrapped up. I got them to ignore the little one, Momma subtly called, people weren't listening, didn't hear, but I'd taken their attention & Momma had advanced. The humans were acting less attentive/predatory towards her "lost" fawn who made a beeline to Momma! 🤗🥰😘 &the micro-reunion departed.. the folks were in absolute awe.. but learned something they probably otherwise would never have learned.. I can say it has been a happily ever after since, & my buddy Buster has even more wanderlust as a 4 year old buck now! He was a healthy 6point beauty last fall! so many professional folks never get to be as immersed in multiple families and follow a matriarchy for over 20 years as the "buddy" I'm blessed by my deer for inviting me into their lives, to discover their ways. Plain english communication, their understanding of my routine, and my understanding of their ways has led to our being able to communicate intents and work for each other as "service animals" on task. They help with yard work, forensic security awareness, I help with security, & we get family time. Deer rest a lot during their entire day, for them to run up greet, and rest/bed down with you is special.. I feel like we're all so close to a world we will never see, I know I've only seen a sliver.. Snowstorm has started, my buddies are probably waiting till it stops to come over. we get approx 20hrs a week together minimum, 🥰👍 Sorry for the novel, I gotta get my "memoirs" together for an educational/entertainment product! but I'm STILL LEARNING!😂👍

We live in a neighborhood with a lot of wooded areas including our lot and a stream behind our neighbor’s home just across the street. We often see families of deer in the neighbor’s back yard however , I’ve recently been so tickled to have a Mommy deer and her baby who is still spotted in its coat hanging out in our front yard!!!! Deer are so very beautiful to me so I just love it and we’ve also had a gorgeous red fox coming through our yard from time to time recently. 🥰
The ears are curled. To anyone who doesn’t know, don’t touch baby dawn if its ears are straight. But if they are curved, the baby needs help due to calcium deficiency.
I feel for that little one, doesn't recognize anyone and doesn't know where it's Mommy is. That baby is so lost. That is one of the loneliest sounds I've ever heard.
this deer is severely dehydrated and abandoned, mother probably died or got hunted. normally they make bleet noises, but this deer is in dire need of nutrition and water.
Poor baby hasn't seen it's mama for a day or so. Fawn's ears curl when they are dehydrated. I hope its mama came back safe and sound to take care of it again. 😢💔
He's in distress and very hungry. Notice his ear tips curled back? That happens with dehydration. Something happened to its mother and he's looking for help.
Fun fact: Newborn deer sound exactly like baby kittens to communicate with mother but as it grows older it turns into a bleating noise. So I’d say that deer is at least a few days old.
She was taken to a sanctuary and this video is years old. Shes fine, no need to comment vet advice
Bagaimana kabar anak rusa sekarang ?
Thank you 👌

Yea, I noticed the ears. The poor baby lost his mother 😭😭

Aww poor baby🥰I really hope it was rescued.x

That is exactly what I was just thinking.
@John-il2fy could you explain how he's wrong?
Deer: *Sounds like my dad’s snoring*
Fawn: Meow

When the ears curl the fawn is dehydrated and needs intervention. Call a rescue. If the ears are straight, it's fine and mom will be back.

They’re completely curled. Maybe they were malnourished or dehydrated.
