Happy New Year. I’m glad that you started this year healthier than last year. One of my goals this year is to also spend less time on Instagram. I found myself mindlessly scrolling rather than making and posting content. We will see if moving it to my desktop helps. I absolutely love the idea of having your husband select and wrap books!!! I might try that with one of my friends. I’ve also ordered a copy of The Known World. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing videos on your new art channel.

YES! To reading everyday. Me too. YES to less time on IG and on my phone. I whittled that time down so much this last year. I hope to do that same and cut even more time. I’m on Fable as well. I’m gonna look for you.

I love this idea of having your husband pick 12 books, wrap them up, and you read one per month! So fun! It will be a true surprise each month.

Love this. “Read every day and read what I like”…This is my standard for my 2024 reading goals. I have a goal to read more classics this year as well….books being released these days are trash😂 P.S The Last Thing You Surrender was so good I forget its as long as it is!

I’ve heard of Fable. I haven’t had much luck with participation in my book club on there, but I do participate in others. I enjoy it because I don’t feel distracted by non-bookish posts like I am with Instagram. 😅
I’m focusing on supporting other book groups this year and choosing books for my own. No reading challenges in 2024 except reading a couple longer books: The Tale of Genji, The 1619 Project, and King (my mama is really enthusiastic about buddy reading this one). I am also setting a goal to practice my Spanish at least 30 min to an hour daily for 2024. 🤞🏾

I loved Les Liaisons Dangereuses when I read it 25+ years ago! I think I found it quite a quick read! I also try to read every day but there are times when life just gets in the way. One thing I don't think I can commit to, is reading novels 400+ pages! Really looking forward to hearing about your favourite reads of 23!
I read it in the early 1990s. so a reread is perfect. I don't mind books over 400+ as long as they are captivating.

That's what I hear. I'm really excited to finally get to it. I chose it because I wanted us to read some classic lit. Not a lot of talk about Edward P. Jones' books. February should be fun.

Hi and happy new year. I enjoyed your video. Your goals sound cool. I was shocked that you haven’t read 100 books a year because you read so much. I believe you read the equivalent of 100 books because your read so many pages per book. I haven’t done it either. One day, I’d like to.

I’m making my goal for the year now as well. I’m under the weather, so I’ve been taking it easy.

No I haven't had the pleasure of reading 100 books. The most I've read is 75 I believe. Who knows there has to be a first time for that. Yeah I've decided to open up a different channel because I know the majority of people subscribed here for the book talk and aren't interested in my art musings. I could tell from both times that I did Vlogmas. Those vlogmas videos have the lowest views. I look forward to seeing your junk journaling.
Goals are very ambitious. Glad that you plan to read "The Known World." I thought that it was great book. I saw the movie "Dangerous Liaisons" but have never read the book. I have yet to set my reading goals. Good luck with your busy schedules.
