I am 96 yrs old and I remember Rick when he was in his 20's. This is 1 of my favorite songs from you Rick. It reminds of my beloved husband who passed many yrs ago and my only child a son. It makes cry and wish I was with them again. I love this song. God Bless.

What a legend. He should have gotten way more recognition for his music in the 80s and 90s then he got credited for. He got more famous many years later when people finally realized how good his talent and voice is. Least 5 his songs shoulda been number 1. Super underrated. His music was next level back then and I still listen to it after 30 years and still enjoy hearing his voice. It’s very smooth and warm. No one else has a voice like him.

Music evolved in the 90s and many popular acts of the 80s, like Rick, faded into the background as newer sounds began to dominate radio. His voice is so rich and soulful. I wish he had found greater success in the U.S. after the 80s but popular music shifted toward the grunge sound and folks started to dress like homeless Seattlites.

Yay, I finally found another good song by Rick. It must've been really cold when he was filming it, as you can tell by the way he is dressed and you can see his breath. I wasn't paying attention to some parts by accident, but was there snow because that would explain why it looks really cold.

It doesn't need to be in winter, nor does it need snow to make the cold cause smoke from the mouth. And it can be interpreted that without the embrace, that is, without the love of those we love, existence is cold. So in his moments alone he sings with cold smoke coming out of his mouth and when he is embraced by the warmth of love existence is heated.
It was a single released around February 89 - I guess the video was shot during winter back then…
