I’ve only ever done 2 craft fairs & to be totally honest, I found them to be extremely nerve racking. I’m not a naturally born sales person, and I was worried no-one would be interested in my products but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m glad you had a great time & your items were so well received.

Great setup! Really shows off your beautiful work. Your enthusiasm makes it even brighter. Love that craft fairs are making a comeback. It is so energizing to see how many really talented and creative people there are in this world. Sometimes right in our own backyards. I suspect I would spend everything I would make if I did one. What fun. Sad you had to lower your prices but it could just be the venue Your rocks are TRUE art forms. Thank you for sharing this experience.
Awww thanks!!! I think you’re totally right!! I think I learned that I don’t have to lower prices as long as I come with all the price points. So I’m working on some smaller pocket rocks for the next one. I was sooooo strong. I kept repeating “don’t buy anything… don’t buy anything.” It was sooo hard! But I did it! I was trying so hard to profit. I could easily sink it all right back in!

That's awesome! Loved your display, I need to adopt some of your set up design. :-) I do 1 craft market a yr, in Dec, for a local pet rescue. Every craft fair I've ever done, I was the only mandala artist. I love visiting with the other vendors, they're usually a very supportive group, and I learn a lot from them. What a great campground! We 'glamp' and those are the kind of places we stay. Only ever been to Arkansas once. Maybe another trip west should be on the list. Time to get ready for Nov! It's coming fast :-)
I'm starting ornaments on July 1, Christmas in July! Lol, I paint every day, but building inventory is difficult since my pieces are larger. You'll do great... again! :-)
Any time! I'll be sharing them on my art page soon...(Pauline's Art and Soul) I currently have an ornament tree I use, but I'm planning to make a flat display of pegboard. It's hard for shoppers to see them well hanging on the tree, imho. BUT they DO sell well. I usually sell out of ornaments that's why I'm starting now :-)

Thank you… it was a very good conversation starter. I thought maybe they won’t buy a rock but maybe I can talk them into trying the art? Maybe a new subscriber? Who knows but I thought it was a good idea. Behind it was a jackery battery that kept it playing all day.
I did my first show in my new area last Sunday. It was chaos in the beginning due to wind (outdoor venue). I was a hot mess until about noon and then I just enjoyed myself. Lovely customers and neighbors. We also had a little rain but nothing that did any harm. Glad you enjoyed your show. Your booth looked great.
Oh wow! I’d definitely have a bit different story had this been outdoors eh? I don’t own a canopy so if I do I’ll have to get one. Glad yours eventually turned out. It’s kinda fun huh.
@@JaDeLRocks yes-outdoors is a totally different experience but I love it. We had to have 50 pounds of weight per leg for the canopies and I am happy to say everything was secure. Someone suggested I use kettle bells as the weights and they were perfect!
@@JaDeLRocks hey guess what, tomorrow I’m going to be laying down some base coats on a few of my rocks, about 2 & a bit weeks ago I made it my mission to get a good amount of rocks made up, so over the space of 4 days, I made 13 round rocks, I only have the one 5.5” mold & I’ve had them sitting on a rack drying & tomorrow for the very first I’m going to put paint to rock, yes it’s only the base coat but once that dries then I can try my luck with dotting WOOHOOOOOOO I can’t wait 😃

😂😂😂 my mom said I was nuts 😂 I stayed on my “diet” the entire time. I’m so proud of that. It was a learning experience for sure. I really did learn a lot.

It’s super hard to imagine laying your Art out there for all to see. I tell ya… it turned out really well. Everyone was kind and inquisitive. The fear is just of the unknown… make it known and party 💪🏻. Good luck.. 🤞🏻
I did craft fairs for years, from age 17 to 60 sold jewelry & my paintings. The best thing to do is trade goods with other vendors, you get some of their's, they get yours ,bartering everyone is happy& you come home with all kinds of goodies! It got to be too much work ,& my house has enough goodies😂! Your work is gorgeous l would have traded for sure ❤💯💐🎨👍

01:13 all of my rocks are in there with bubble wrap and even an old sheet. All of my work is coated with art resin so it’s pretty safe. The paintings I had were on the shelf in my trunk. None sold s they were too expensive and nearly out of sight behind me. I’m not sure I’d take them again unless I can learn to make them for under $40. Good luck.. 🤞🏻

Awesome booth! I'm curious, how do you store or transport your rocks and wall hangings to protect any paint that might get damaged? ❤
