Greg Davies is not only an ex teacher, comedian & actor but is something of a celebrity. If you watch clips from the Graham Norton Show, he often has others in tears of laughter with his stories.
The one about his school with Ryan gosling is brilliant
Oh! I am sorry to hear that not only is Greg an ex-teacher but ex comedian and actor, as well.
A sad loss to The Business..
😥😥
@@Isleofskye Apols. That should read ex teacher but now comedian, actor & celebrity. 👍
The lady is host if The One Show..Micky Flanagan takes the piss out if her in his clips
@@alabama1413 Thanks,My Friend but no need for Apold:)
I knew what you meant,I was just joking.
Good Luck😀
There’s something rather delicious about pre-knowing the correct answer and watching Nick FAIL. 🤣🤣🤣
John Cooper Clarke (born 25 January 1949) is an English performance poet and comedian who styled himself as a "punk poet" in the late 1970s.[1] In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he released several albums. Around this time, he performed on stage with several punk and post-punk bands and continues to perform regularly.
Put in the RUclips search engine: - John Cooper Clarke - Evidently Chickentown - The Best Sopranos Ending Ever
This will give people an idea of John Cooper Clarke's poems put to music. So good they used it in the Sopranos.
Went to this poetry festival thing once during my GCSEs, the one we were meant to be covering didn't even turn up, but John Cooper Clarke did and I became an instant fan of his work. One of his poems was interrupted by a distant police siren and he quickly muttered "They're on to me!" then continued.
and should be the Poet Laureate.
Greg Davies put his former teaching experience to excellent use playing the role of Mr Gilbert the teacher in The Inbetweeners. It's a brillantly rude british sitcom about 4 teenage schoolboys and their hilarious antics growing up. They made 3 series and 2 feature length movies, so there's a whole rabbit hole for you guys to react to there!😁👍
Davies essentially played himself as Mr Davies(another teacher) the lead character in 4 seasons of Man Down.
The guy in sunglasses is John Cooper Clarke, a punk poet
Nick questioning why people wear sunglasses indoors whilst wearing a baseball cap indoors and not playing baseball
@@Interestedinitall In my experience people who wear hats indoors are usually bald...though don't think Nick is tbf. I've not noticed the shorts things, though I do wear them but only on very hot days and yes, it is to show off my sun tanned legs but sadly mine have come from a bed, not the Med :D
Brydon's immediate flip from Tuetonic interrogative "You're very big aren't you?" to the same but as camp innuendo is sooooo underated. A inspired little moment.
Getting 5 straight wrongs is kind of an achievement actually.
The guy next to Lee is John Cooper-Clarke, bit of a street poet. I use to listen to some of his stuff back in the 80s.
The guy with the shades on is John Cooper Clarke a British poet and comedian 💯..If you like poetry He's good
P.s: John Cooper Clarke is also from my home town of Manchester. He’s a clever and funny guy. I seem to remember he had a funny story on WILTY too.
Very pleased to see you got round to some of Greg Davies stuff. As others have said in the comments, you really should look at his appearances on the Graham Norton Show. He is The Taskmaster, in the show Taskmaster that so many folk in the comments have reccomended.
yup, rapping too!
Greg is huge 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) , He was a teacher in many schools including in Sandhurst where he was a drama teacher and taught my son, I met him at parents evening, a very funny guy on screen and off screen.
If you want another Greg Davis classic school teacher story watch --- "Ryan Gosling Can’t Cope With Greg Davies’ Ridiculous Story - The Graham Norton Show"
Dr John Cooper Clarke is the guy with the shades..a national treasure.
He's a poet, often called a punk poet due to his style and that he started around the same time as punk bands and would perform at punk gigs. He has various albums of his poems, usually set to music.
If you want to check him out "evidently chicken town" is one of his most famous, but, short. Id reccomend Valley of the long lost women, Beasley Street or 36 hours...but there's so many.
The man in the glasses is John cooper-Clarke and he’s a poet. You’d love reacting to him on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. ‘Poetry competition’. 😂
What I love about the "is everybody here" part of that, is the same thing happened to me when I was in primary school, about 8 or 9 years old. Except we were in fog you couldn't see more than about 3 feet in front of you. I'm very surprised we didn't lose a kid that day
Greg Davies time at school stories are SO insanely awesome, that a fake version would just pale in comparison; almost like potatoes, which are VO0OveeGETabl00BoleSS!!?!
Not only is Greg hilarious in sitcoms, The Inbetweeners, and Man Down, where he plays a teacher, but also as the Taskmaster (in Taskmaster, where he judges and insults comedians doing stupid tasks). He is also hilarious at stand-up, especially his proper shows, stuff he does on Live at the Apollo is okay, but are just testers for his comedy tours.
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes !!! Thank you, Thank you for reacting to Greg…more please 😍🥰🙏🏻🙏🏻😂🤣👍🇬🇧
Having seen many of these wilty' on television when they first aired, I still forget who was lying and who wasnt which makes it all the more fun guessing along.
I really look forward to your WILTY, from a crisp, sunny Coventry. Thank you for sharing this. 🇬🇧👵😅
You have to watch more Greg he is hilarious.
By the way, you really ought to react to Claudia Winkleman & Henning Wehn on WILTY, both of whom are close to Bob Mortimer in terms of storytelling. Best wishes to you both 👍
Lucky Hat! :) Unlucky Guy! :(
lol
You need to watch Greg Davies on the Graham Norton show, makes Ryan gosling can't stop laughing. Hilarious 😂😂
When people volunteer a lot of detail, they are usually telling the truth.
The bloke with the glasses is John Cooper Clarke. Poet, musician, comedian and Manc legend!
You must do more Greg Davies please,🇬🇧
John Cooper Clark is the guy in the shades. A punk poet from 70’s till present day … however, with your aversion to four letter words, you may have to stay clear with your delicate natures.
Jody just picks the opposite. to Nick. A pretty much a sure fire way of being correct.
Greg has a few brilliant appearances on Wilty and the Graham Norton show
My ex was a Teacher and she organised a couple of overseas trips for the kids at her school from the UK who where aged around 14 years old. I went along to help supervise. One of the trips was to Switzerland, one of the trips whilst there was up to the border with Italy in the Alps. I remember one Teacher who had a very broad Yorkshire Accent told the kids not to eat the yellow snow. The same Teacher when on a trip to Italy. whilst in Rome. We where going back to this really nice Hotel but we had to walk through a dubious part of the City and he shouted to the kids ‘Keep your arses to the wall!’
You may have noticed when watching Micky Flanagan, that he has mentioned "The One Show" and puts on a Welsh accent, well, the lady on this episode is Alex Jones who hosts "The One Show", and it is her who Micky is mimicking.
Team Jodie ..................................... AGAIN.
The Man on Lee's Team with the Black Hair is John Cooper Clarke. He made a few Records but was best known as a Punky Poet.
Hope you folks in the US had a happy thanksgiving. 😊
Jodi's look to camera when the truth is revealed lol
There were so many additional bits to the story it was a dead giveaway . You ought to have a look at Gregg as the fearsome Taskmaster . WILTY. wise he has many more , and stepped in for Lee as Captain on one occasion - but whoever is on its almost impossible to find any edition of the show that doesn't have a great story .
The guy with the glasses is John Cooper Clarke. A wonderful puck poet.
The guy with sunglasses is a punk poet called John Cooper Clarke.
Its been a while since I have watched the Inbetweeners, But we could all watch it again with Jodi and Nick reacting to this funny adolescent school college show. Lets do it!
Waterside.
Greg was a teacher and he gave it up to do comedy. His first two successful roles in sit coms were playing characters who were teachers. So life imitates art and art imitates life for Greg.
*PLEEEEEASE* do the Rhod Gilbert egg and cress sandwich sketch!!
Unbelievable story teller genius lol
The wonderful John Cooper Clark on Lees team. The original punk poet and from Salford. A real legend
Hi Sonny & Cher , its more honest to make a decision & get it wrong then always say opposite ,
Good motto in life that how we learn by are mistakes
The man with the sunglasses is urban poet JOHN COOPER CLARK.
The guy next to lee is John Cooper Clarke a excellent modern day poet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cooper_Clarke
Greg Davies in Man down
So are Liverpool today,Away to Manchester City...
Loving Jodis jumper ❤
You need to listen to some of Greg Davies’ school stories. They are great
The guy sitting next to Lee Mack with the sunglasses on is John Cooper Clarke. He is a comedy poet, and is very funny.
I love Greg Davies! Please watch his stories on Graham Norton, his stand up comedy, or any of UK Taskmaster.
PS the reason the host Rob Brydon said "you are a large man" is because Greg is 6ft 8!
I’m so pleased you became a teacher rather than a cop
I'm another voice saying you'd *love* Taskmaster (which features Greg Davies)!
Doctor John Cooper Clark, poet genius
Should def check our would I lie to you this is my Marie lee Mack nanny - and this is my Georgie gabby roslin
Wearing sunglasses inside is almost as bad as wearing hats indoors. 🙂
Greg Davies WILTY hearing aid.
Yes he is tall, he's 6' 8" You need to check out more from Greg, he is a very funny man.
I wondered for ages whether Michael Jordan was in Black Panther till I realized I was missing the B!
Greg Davis has had some of the most iconic WILTY moments please check out sleeping in the bath or his rickshaw rider story.
Toon Squad is the name of Newcastle fc in England. lol.
Oh Nick, just this once with Greg being an ex-teacher i thought you might guess right, lol. Yay Jodie, again!
Greg has a lot of funny stories from his teaching days, he must have been popular with the kids
You should watch Greg in the comedy The Cleaner where his job is cleaning up after a gruesome murder. It was obvious he was telling the truth :)
John Cooper Clarke there.. my my mum went to school with him
Greg Davies came to light initially in a show called The Inbetweeners...about 4 schoolboys and their pathetic teenage years. He played the Head (principal) of the school, a very dry, sarcastic, hateful and bitter man. He played it quite brilliantly...probably not a massive jump for him acting wise lol You should check out the full episodes...probably too rude and vulgar for Jodi though.
Check out CATHERINE TATE as LAUREN in FRENCH EXAM comedy. A teacher's nightmare ! A U.K. BBC comedy classic.
"CUSHON"!!!
Phew i thought this was obviously true
Sometimes you can overthink things.
Greg’s stories are nearly as bizarre as Mortimer’s.
Bafta is a bit like an english Emmy
Greg Davies has lots of funny stories. Check out comedian Romash Ranganathan he is an ex teacher too. The best one I've seen is christmas at the Apollo.
That clip wasn't finished
That’s two in a row I’ve got right. Come on Nick get your act together. Perhaps you ought to get Jodie to choose first
How about someone wearing a hat indoors? That gives me an interesting opinion too. That's Dr John Cooper Clark.
Time to watch Taskmaster
I know for an American the idea a celebrity can be a poet probably seems weird, I remember Pam Ayres from the 70's who also did poetry as part of her act with a very strong Berkshire now Oxfordshire accent, the rural one not the posh one...
I liked Pam. Poetry WAS er Act:)
Seriously, how could anyone possibly make up "I once caused an injury to a man whilst trying to get a different man to say the word 'vegetables'" if it wasn't true?!
Arnold Swarzenegger isn’t the only Austrian. There at least two others.
Greg Davis is 6 feet 7 inches tall ❤❤.
Greg is a teacher and around 6ft 7 inches tall. lol
Nick , have a word with the lovely Jodie because she can't lose as she tells you why she thinks it was a lie and then says true so, either way, she is right
😉
@@Jodi_BoringReviews 😀
🤦🙋♀️
Check out Greg's story of wearing his Mother's under wear.
I am sure it is true. I am only 7 minutes in so let's see who is right. Dadah!
Nick!!! For god's sake mate.
What are you going to do with him Jodi?
I’m going to love him and enjoy his competitive stress. 😂
@@Jodi_BoringReviews 💕 and stressed he is. I am sure you know what to do, every confidence in you
You've hit a home run in getting it wrong😭 I said it before stick with your original thought.👍🇬🇧
Do inbetweeners and watch your views go through the roof.
Hi I know you do not really cover sitcoms but one British tv programme is outnumbered . It is about a family of mum and dad and 3 children . It stands out as although there is a script the producers including Andy Hamilton allow the children to go off script so the adults then need to ad-lib to try and keep it on topic. Favourites of mine were the family wedding and Karen’s Christmas list and the school parents teachers evening . The dad is also a teacher which makes it more differcult
Youre problem is u try to apply logic in a land of chaos
nick you 5 time loser most of greg davies's stories are from when he was a teacher like the time he wore his mum's undies to work when he was a teacher
well done on winning again jodi
Jodi can NOT lose. She explains why she thought it was a LIE and, if it had of been then she would have got it right but then said TRUE so, also, got it right.
Either Way,Jodi is correct:)
He isn’t that funny all the time. I cannot stand Task Master. 👎
That is Dr John Cooper Clarke. Punk Poet extraordinaire.
