I used to go to that mall when I was a kid, a teenager and adult. It's changed so much. I remember when The Disney Store was on the second level and attached to it was their Disney art.
@HEYMANWITHJAYMAN You might be right. I even remember the Disney Store at the Westminister Mall. Did I even spell that right? Lol. I hung out there too growing up.
I used to go to Main Place Mall when I lived in Orange County. One day I walked in to go to Barnes and Noble and they were shooting the movie Kindergarten Cop. That was a huge crowd in the mall that day. I didn't know it was going on. What a big surprise. It was the opening scene of the movie.
I grew up in that mall in the 90s! It was always packed. I remember my favorite place to eat in the food court was a French fry place. They would serve fries in giant cups and pour nacho cheese. My favorite store was Babbages. I moved from Orange County, but every summer, when it’d get hot out, I’d go there to get my steps in. I miss Orange County.
Oh, yes! Hot Dog on a Stick! I love their lemonade corn dogs and their cheese on a stick-so good! The crispy coating and the creamy, melting cheese were delightful. There was also a place around the corner called Popcorn Palace. I remember from the '90s. I always enjoyed trying all the different flavors they offered. I moved away from Orange County a year ago, and I really love your videos; they remind me of home. Thank you for responding to my post; I truly appreciate it!
WOW ! did not know that JC Pennys changed a little. I go here all the time, I love the Applebees there lol. But its been a while since I went into JC Pennys
The place you keep referring to , that you forget was there...its was legendary Nordstrom. ( seeing that gone is like seeing a McDonald's out of business).
Awesome work. I live vicariously through watching you walk the mall. It brings back my childhood. South Coast Plaza is pretty cool. There are 2 sides to that mall. The far side . And the main side with all the expensive $5,000 - $80,000 watch stores such as Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Blvgari, Cartier, Chanel. Chopard, Coach, Fendi, Hublot, Omega, Patek Phillipe, Rolex, Rourneau Bucherer, Tudor, Vacheron Constantine, A. Lange & Sohn ( 60-100 k watches ). I don't think filming is allowed inside the high end watch stores though. You can film the outside.
They closed it several years back as the demographic had shifted too far away from their client. It still hurts, it was a great store. They're in process of demolishing it for more outdoor space
I'll tell you this I'm 53, and our senior class of 1990 in the nearby City saw Bird On A Wire at the old AMC there with Mel Gibson, as one of the activities your Senior Week 😂 If I remember correctly before I graduated back then, it was already going downhill! It had Bullocks, Robinson, May company and Broadway department store as anchors! How can anybody forget its claim to fame is it was the background mall for Kindergarten Cop 😂! Its peak was definitely in the late 80s when it was packed for shopping on the weekends and holidays! You know you have a dead Mall when its run by Australian base management or ownership has control of it. Which is Westfield that runs a lot of the crappy ones out in LA County and San Bernardino 😂!
Of course malls are dead now. This generation rather be lazy and go shopping on TikTok and Instagram than go outside. In person shopping will always be for me over online (1/5 of my amazon packages always get lost, then having to stay at home so some loser doesn’t take your package)
I thought Forever 21 went completely bankrupt a few years ago, closed down all the stores in the chain and liquidated all the inventory. Maybe that's one of the few they kept open so they could get rid of inventory, which would be a reason for the "cash only" sign you saw at the entrance, but its been way too long since the bankruptcy filing for one to still be open. Never been in that mall myself but it seems very active for an old-style shopping mall.
It’s been years since I’ve been to that mall. Boy, does this video bring back memories. Now I think I want to go back and visit! Thank you so much.
This place is my childhood... even worked here for a little while. Crazy seeing all the same locations with different stores
I used to go to that mall when I was a kid, a teenager and adult. It's changed so much. I remember when The Disney Store was on the second level and attached to it was their Disney art.
Any Disney stores left? I think there is a Disney outlet at the Citadel
@HEYMANWITHJAYMAN You might be right. I even remember the Disney Store at the Westminister Mall. Did I even spell that right? Lol. I hung out there too growing up.
That's my childhood mall!!! Been going there since 1998. Not as much as today tho. But still nostalgic for me.

I miss the Hot Dog on a Stick, now Korean corndogs but pretty good tho

Yes! Boardwalk Fries- that place was bomb!
Wow this brings back so many memories of my childhood and teenage years
I live 5 mins away from this mall and 😎 and its awsome it’s always busy even its not the holidays
feels werid seeing a mall I still go to on this series😂
WOW ! did not know that JC Pennys changed a little. I go here all the time, I love the Applebees there lol. But its been a while since I went into JC Pennys
I think that closed down area used to be Nordstrom!
Yeah, Nordstroms. I was thinking hard to try to figure it out
that nordstorm is in such disrepair haha. I'm shocked the rest of the mall is ok honestly
Yep. Old Nordstrom. Then it was an Open Market OC for a year or so before the mall shut the area down for renovations
I still like that mall
Nice to see a mall that’s not completely dead! Do you ever plan to visit the Shops at Mission Viejo?
Excellent vid!
That middle anchor store at 6:00 was the old Nordstrom
This mall is always swarming in the summer because of the free a/c. I'm surprised it's dead because last year it was busy at this time!

Also miss Roger's Gardens.
Not technically few yet but it’s dying. Lots of junkie stores that are barely a step up from the swap meet. It’s fallen hard since Nordstrom left
Heyman, when did you film this video? 1 week before Christmas? It hasn't rained in the past day or so.
Changed it, yeah it was a week & a half before Christmas. My mind was thinking cuz it posted today vs a few days ago when it got edited 👍
What happened to Nordstrom?
It was and before that it a Bullocks and J.W. Robinson and May Co. Were at the end of each side of the mall.
They closed it several years back as the demographic had shifted too far away from their client. It still hurts, it was a great store. They're in process of demolishing it for more outdoor space
@@alisarsour8552the Nordstrom was built in 1987 as a Nordstrom. It was never anything else. The Macys was a Bullocks though up to 1996
@@liquidninja6654I think he was think of south coast plaza.

Depressing mall! It’s dead! Hardly no people surprisingly because people
Should be Christmas shopping already

They still have stores at most SoCal malls
