A bedroom in a tower is a cool idea, but make sure that you 'seal' it in with either doors or trapdoors. It creates a 'room' with better heat insulation. This means that it can be -20 C outside, but you're warm and cozy upstairs. You can test with "/debug rooms hi".
Storage rooms are max 7x7x7. Normal rooms are 14x14x14.
Greenhouses are a bit weird, and better to look them up.
Very good to know! I'll definitely invest in trap doors :) and I really want to to make a greenhouse so I'll maybe search that up!
I like making a safety net out of dirt a couple blocks below the roof when first starting roofs
I really should have done that lol, I always forget I have crates of 1000+ dirt in my storage lmao
That's called a "scaffolding".
@@mystic_spider that's called a safety onion ring
@@mystic_spider yup!
Maybe you could use the as-yet unused floor of your tower as a library? Use shelves to store any lore books you find, scroll racks for scrolls, maybe make some books yourself and write down pertinent information you might need to refer back to later?

the mods "culinary artillery" adds some good stuff to add to your kitchen, from bottle racks, meat drying hooks, and gives you several new cooking tools like saucepans and cauldrons, mixing bowls and rolling pins, and sap collecting spiles for pine and maple sap. though the sister mod "expanded foods" does overhaul the cooking mechanic, upping the difficulty a tad
butchery can also add meat hooks and butcher tables, but you get decreased yields just butchering them out in the field. to prevent this, put them on a hook, skin them, wait for them to bleed out, and butcher them on a table. some animals cant be butchered, so their yield stays the same. some animals like boars, wolves and bears need to be picked up in a backpack slot
brazires and deco bazaar, and joy of painting are also good decorative mods
Adding to that, "Stone Oven" gets you a lo of customization and bang for your firewood when cooking large batches of whatever you want.
Great suggestions, adding them all to the list! :)
Perfect! I'll throw it on my mod list :)
@@TimmyTwoNipples And since you mentioned being Canadian... With the sister mod to A culinary artillery, Expanded Foods, you can actually make maple syrup, from harvesting the sap to boiling, to bottling it up :3
Hey Tim, just Wana say that while I'm out on deployment, I've enjoyed all of your videos. Whatever hasn't been locked behind membership, I've been downloading and adding to my Playlist when I can, I listen to your videos while I'm on watch and it's always fun to listen to or watch.
Thanks, my dude, I appreciate you.
That sucks the members vids aren't downloadable :( but I'm glad your enjoying the vids! Thanks for watching! :)
You *might* be able to do something like one of those youtube to mp4 websites. I don't think the quality is too great but maybe it'll help. Best of luck and stay safe bro.
I really enjoy watching you build
I love to hear it! More building is definitely on the way lol
He is the best builder in this game
@@felipinho1300 agreed
torch in offhand can increase you temprature
I learn something everyday
I was wondering if that was a thing!! Very good to know :)
Same here lmao
You need an alcohol area with barrels, distillary and wood ! With nice chiseled big barrels and shelves !
Whoa whoa whoa pump the brakes.. alcohol?!? 👀
Hey, TwoNips! Did you know you can turn on a minimap in the top right corner of the screen (if you didnt disable it in world setup)? Its super helpful when following the red x to the archive, and also for watching for certain terrain features like massive death pits! It can be enabled by using F6! Coordinates, useful mostly for checking depth, can be enabled using CTRL + V!
I really should use the minimal while wondering! I used the coordinates for digging my tunnel but I should definitely rely on the minimal for adventures :)
Another banger of a build! Might use this kind of roof on my personal project
I also love how you can see Tim's building skill getting better from how the tower just switches styles completely after the midpoint
I'll definitely be chiseling the base of the tower at some point, I just know it will be quite the task lol glad you're enjoying the build, hope yours goes well!! :)
make and carry half a stack or more of torches; good for lighting up caves, gauging their depths and off-handing them keeps you slightly warmer during the winter
Very good to know, I'll definitely bring some with me on my next adventure!
Floor 3 could be a smaller museum type area. Some armor stands with unique armor you arent using (Forlorn Hope or Blackguard, maybe a plate set), display cases with unique appearing ores (i love the way granite quarts with gold bits looks, and malachite chunks) or butterflies. Or spare a few crystals from your hoard for down there lol. Extra or duplicated tapestries.
That little ledge right behind the ladder has so many opportunities to be a unique display spot. Its just so visually interesting!
Yeah that little ledge has potential! Having a bunch of the armour sets would be super cool too! :) so many options lol
I love the blueprints btw. I feel like we're on the construction site together, hardhats on.
Plus my sense of direction is so bad, when people start to explain stuff like that verbally I just glaze over.
I started to confuse myself while talking about what I was building so I figured I slap the blueprint explanation together! Glad you like it :)
2nd Floor looks perfect for a large library.
You can press H while hovering over an item in your inventory to open the handbook directly to that item. Also, I do not know if you are aware how ore generation works. From the center ore block, ore can spawn in all eight directions around that center block. Kind of like a 2d clock. I say this because I haven't seen you check the diagonals when mining ore. Thank you for your awesome videos!
Mining achievements museum thingy? Butterfly room? More oddities the room? Just some cozy storage room? Armory?
Butterfly collecting 👀
The base is looking soooo good now man! I actually love it! I’d live there for sure! Not sure what the rent would be like haha! 150 gears a night! Expensive I know but, it’s beautiful! Can’t wait to see the tower fully furnished and chiselled!
Maybe be cool to do some art on the walls like when you chiselled that coal pic on the front of the house way back when
I realllly want to continue that coal chisel art around the whole build! :) I can give you a 25 gear discount if you tend to my sheep for a day (they do bite still) thanks for watching! :)
Top floor I would say could almost be like a beacon. Have it all lit up so that it something you can see from a long distance. Thought about that from when you were rowing away and saying how you like the look of the lights.
I definitely want to light up every window at some point! Would look so good! Beacon is a great idea too :)
If you are starting to freeze so easily it could be because your winter clothes are tattered. To repair them you need to use flax twine or linen. To repair simply pick up your flax twine, hover over your clothes and left click. Flax twine repairs 20% I believe and linen repairs 50%
I definitely need to repair my clothes then lmao I wasn't sure if it had a real effect
The empty tower room seems like the perfect place for a decorative living room, in the recent update you can use a bear's hide as a rug also. Seems fitting to your base lol
That is if someone hasn't came up with something that actually serves a purpose
Bear hides rugggggs yes! That's definitely going in there! :)
beautiful!! maybe you could move your workshop to this new tower as it is even higher than the old one
One of my favorite VS details is that a hot meal will warm you up.
(Also being next to a fire or in a warm room or wearing warm clothing!)
(You're killin' me you, timtwos!)
I had no clue about the warm meal thing, very good to know! :) thank you!!
After a certain point, there's only so much new content you can go for in VS without mods. At this point now, you have- *REDACTED*
Ok, you know what? It's better you find out. Grow your crops and take good care of your goats for a few generations, and you can use the larger spot in the tower to store something new that you can prepare. It's still food, but it takes a while to make. Keep. Those. Goats. FED.
But you're starting to get close to your third year! While you don't "finish" VS much like other survival games, it's a good point to start anew thanks to the 1.20 update coming eventually, and start to explore mods. But that's just me.
Floor 3 should be a dining hall/short term food or throne room or armory
I'm leaning towards dining room! But throne room.. 👀
love this series and always get super excited when i see a new video from you
Thank you so much!! 😭
Looking good!
Thankya!! :)
The closer to the top of the tower, people tended to use those spaces as rest spaces. FIND AND PLACE A TELESCOPE ON THE TOP OF THE TOWER!!!!
That would be amazing, do telescopes exist in the game?
@@TimmyTwoNipples Yeah, they're purely decorative. I think you can find them in ancient ruins and the such. (I might also be imagining things)
You Could also chisel one!
You realize that the Resonance Archives is the endgame right? You better go prepared
I might not be prepared.. 👀
2:50 HE SAID IT!!!
You should put a round diningtable on the third floor and maybe some banners.
This idea.. I really like this idea! :)
why not use the third floor for all the different kinds of clothing you find on your journeys and put them on display as since its right below your bedroom you can also just see it as your changing room (could even have a set of armour there that is good at keeping you warm)
Armour in the four corners and then clothing in between.. that could be super interesting 👀
@@TimmyTwoNipples glad you like my idea :)
FIRST COMMENT! And first like 👍! Here we go! The Resonance Archives! May the adventure begin!
I'm VERY excited to check it out! Gonna do a bit more prep and then maybe check it out at the least! :) thanks for always watching!! :)
@@TimmyTwoNipplesit’s a hectic thing. Need lots of healing and good weapons/armour. Bring tons of food. Best to setup a Basecamp and bring a few double chests
Hey I really like this series, but after, instead of playing something else, can you do a modded playthrough instead? Mods like Better Ruins and The Dungeon add full dungeons to adventure through. Primitive Survival is awesome too, and all the Fauna of the Stone Age mods add tons of new animals including lions and tigers. There’s also lots of backpack mods and qualms of life stuff. I’d love to see you mix things up with mods.
I've been slowly putting a mod list together, I'll definitely be giving this a shot soon! :)
Oh shit Timmy I’m 3 hours late, that’s not like me, another dope video I’m sure.
Thanks for watching!! (New ones up now hop in! Lol)
Based video.
This comments is as based as ever.
OSHA intensifies
OSHA is on to me
you need better clothes! Or you need to at least repair the ones you have. Use one twine (just right click the piece of clothing with the twine) for 10% durabilite or a linen sheet for 50%. If you've got class exclusive recipies off you can also use a sewing kit for 75% (but usually that's locked behind the tailor class)
Schweet!
@6:40 you missed one
RUclips didn’t recommend me you last two videos : (
NEW VID UP NOW (I'll do RUclips's job for them) hope you enjoy! :)
I think the third floor of the tower could be overflow/different category of items for the treasure room. You could put a bunch of shelves with stuff on them with ladders going up and stuff.
Shelves would be very good to utilize the vertical space.. very good idea! :)
