HS was wide awake & in a homicidal rage when Twila returned. He told the police that he awoke & that the only bottle of booze was gone b/c Twila had taken it to the party. They fought until Scooter pulled him off her. Things calmed down until Twila ran & grabbed the axe handle & attacked him. After murdering all three, he was able to walk 4 blks to his gf's trailer & break in. He also stayed awake until the police came to arrest him 3 hrs later & he hid in a closet. Incapacitated, my a**

Here in Texas, one who is convicted and sentenced to die, is likely not to leave prison alive, innocent or not. The problem with the Texas justice system is that the only way one gets a new trial where the initial conviction could be overturned, is if it is established that the defendant had his constitutional rights violated during his trial. Guilt or innocence is irrelevant as long as the defendant's conviction has been lawful. So, be charged with a capital crime, have some second rate public pretender (sorry, I meant defender), a police force and district attorneys office who are solely concerned with closing cases and get as many convictions as possible because eventually there are elections to be won, then you have a recipe for death row whether you're innocent or not. So being in Hank Skinner's situation (if he is actually innocent that is), getting out of the mess he's in, is next to impossible and it takes something like divine intervention to get off death row. And of course not to forget that here in Texas the death penalty is so extremely politicized and the justice system from top to bottom commercialized. As the Godfather said: "It's nothing personal, it's just business!"

    • @TCB0816

Amen to that ! Texas system is exactly how you told it! It's evil and fucked up... The only thing I can say is stay the fuck outta trouble especially in Texas it's not worth it. But the only way to get the death penalty in Texas is if you kill a child kill a cop kill multiple people or kill while doing a felony!

@@brendansmith3851 Well we wouldn’t want to ruin anyones day now would we, but it’s a sad fact that police corruption has ruined many lives over the decades and thousands of innocents have languished in prison awaiting execution, who did nothing wrong, and you know it’s true. If you lack the knowledge you should research it. And what’s worse that an innocent man sitting on death row for 26 years before being freed. An innocent man sitting on death row for 26 years then having his veins implode with a lethal cocktail of liquid lightning. As someone living in the part of the world that I do I find it hard to believe that a country like the USA is an outlier with their criminal INjustice system, is one of the only first world democracies in the world that brutally executes convicts, and treats the odd few thousand cases of innocence as just a hazard. Weird country, weird people, weird culture.

Four people were, but skinner murdered three of them. However, Skinner cut his hand using a knife without a hand guard to stab two of the victims to death. He bleed all over the murder weapon which he claimed he did not touch that night and which was found in a room he claimed that he did not enter that night. They have obtained dna profiles from the blood stains on the knife and they match Skinner's and Caler's. He's guilty.

You mean the jacket that Twila's mother testified at trial belonged to Twila and the defense offered no rebuttal-- that jacket? lol! The rest of what you cited the jury heard about except for the blood drops which were neither fresh nor near the door. It has no forensic relevance since it was on a public sidewalk and does not overcome the mountain of evidence pointing to Skinner. .Also, I note that the defense has not asked for that blood to be subjected to additional testing.

Do you not even care that there are corrupt, unscrupulous individuals in this world that will go all out for a win regardless of innocence? That is not how the law is.. The evid. at trial was that the jacket belonged to Twila. It was found on the floor a cple of feet from her head. That it was Twila's jacket was not rebutted at trial or subsequently. I wouldn't assume TX lost it. It cd have been easily swiped by the defense when they had it ordered out for a hearing in 2006 & not returned. I wouldn't put it pass them. But since the jacket belonged to Twila, it has no forensic value. It also does not make all the other evidence proving his guilt disappear.

The deputy was rightfully enraged to hear all that horrific violence was over a damn bottle of booze. His zero concern over 3 people brutally murdered shows his true colors. Me me me, common for a psychopath.

This video was posted years ago but i occasionally think about Hank unfortunately i believe him to be guilty he may of been so intoxicated he blacked out and does not realize he killed them the evidence against him does not look great

Listen a conviction especially a DP conviction 'which by the way is inhumane and abhorrent' should never ever be executed when there is reasonable doubt and there is enough reasonable doubt here to sink the titanic!

  • @choppedpeanuts2

You would be akin to a juror who slept through the entire presentation of evidence then voted not guilty. lol

  • @choppedpeanuts2
    @choppedpeanuts2 11 лет назад

We can presume that an innocent person would post evidence that he claims proves his innocence. He does not. He cherry picks, refuses to release or has the court seal evidence. He's the one arguing for actual innocence. He is not. AntiDP advocates routinely and falsely claim that they once believe a defendant guilty or are "unsure" b/c they think it gives greater weight to their opinions -- it does not.

(Pt. 1) It somewhat makes sense logically, but it assumes that said evidence is airtight, and/or it ignores other important factors. Put differently, I don't think that ANY evidence can absolutely vindicate him, but it might perhaps raise doubt. E.g. had TX not lost the jacket, it would be harder to convict him. So, why not post it anyway? Maybe because it can easily be interpreted either way, pissing people off more? Or that it makes no difference in the big scheme of things? IDK...

I see your point about "that game" you don't play, but I can only give you my word that I won't post any followups. If you (or anyone else) would kindly post a link or 2, I promise to reply, only with nothing but gratitude. Thanks, folks.

We can't presume that photos we think SHOULD support his case would actually do so. Similar logic can apply to the rest you cited.
This is irrelevant, but I started out being SURE he's guilty. Now, I'm not so sure, just undecided.
His story is somewhat plausible, and if true, could reconcile the "home run" arguments that prove his guilt (e.g. that he made his way to the ex-gf's).
But how does he explain his blood found everywhere in the boys' room, when he cut his hand outside, no?

How is it that none of these hairs were Hank Skinner's? His hair was long and if he was chocking her she would have been trying to stop him. Nope I don't believe it, those were the hairs that belonged to who ever killed her and it wasn't Hank!

(Pt. 2) Again, I started out having no doubt whatsoever of his guilt, not that this matters one bit to anyone but me. I've tried (moderately) to research whatever google can find for me, on BOTH sides. Alas, I'm stuck at "undecided," which would require that I vote "not guilty" as a juror (on any *new* case, because here, it's meaningless).

(Pt. 2) I'm honestly doing my best to remain unbiased, but I'm just not convinced (yet). Perhaps I'm too stubborn to accept such things at face value? IDK. With someone's life on the line, I tend to overlook such details, and I could very well send off innocent men to die, just as other jurors undoubtedly have (though rarely).
I'm no legal expert, nor am I even a "qualified" layman. I just need help finding the evidence that makes everyone so certain he is guilty? Little help please? Thanks!

There is no conclusive evidence against Hank Skinner. There is only two camps here, the ones who think he did it and the ones who think he didn't. Neither side could actually prove weather he is innocent or guilty in any absolute or "Proof beyond a reasonable doubt" kind of way, but the State of Texas legal system allows for these "I think he is guilty" type convictions to go forward. Police in Texas intimidate witnesses, Prosecutors withhold evidence favorable to the Defendant (or lose it) and the system seems even proud of their ability to convince Jurors of guilt with little or no evidence. Even if the State was only wrong one out of a hundred times they should not be allowed to continue to use the Death Penalty. One Guilty person Murdered by the State is one too many!

Skinner hired Max Courtney to examine the evidence. However, skinner has refused to release his report and he did not call him to testify at the trial nor at the habeas hearing. Why? Because not only did Courtney not say what skinner claims he said, Courtney called skinner a liar.
