- Hii! In this video, I tried a sand art kit Create Your Own Sand Art by ColorZone. In case you missed my last video, I had my son recently (he's 3 weeks now 👶👩🍼) and I will be making slightly easier/shorter videos for a couple of months. I'm calling it my own version of maternity leave. so that's why this video is a bit less complex than my usual videos.

Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. Congrats on the new baby! I encourage you to look up Andrew Clemens. He’s an Iowan artist from the 1800s who made amazing works of art by layering sand in bottles.
Im from Iowa and have never heard of this man. I will have to look him up now.

Hey! To pack the sand tap it on the table. It gets rid of space between sand and pattern stays. Also fill completely to the top before putting in the stop. :)
I used to do many types of sand art with kids on my job and i was always so frustrated when they shook the bottles and all of the sand was mixed i was always trying to control their craft, then with time i just learned to let go of the perfectionism and let the kids enjoy the craft, they always loved it by the end even if it was all mixed they were proud of their craft, i realized some chaos is good sometimes if it makes the kids happy and they express their own creativity without me imposing it. Long story short, shake that sand art if it makes you happy there is always a next time with crafts 🥰
My mom would always put a bit of cotton ball at the top of my sand art to keep the sand from moving! It worked great!
I hope you’re doing ok and legitimately take all the time you need ❤postpartum is hard and it often gets shoved into hiding

As a kid I did sand art too. I was like you and never wanted to move them too much. They would always end up knocked over and messed up then tossed out. At some point I stopped because I figured out I was wasting my allowance on something that kept being thrown away. I am always blown away by the people who can little works of art with sand.

I always refuse to use scissors to open packing tape! Then I give up half way through and go find my scissors!😂 but I will sign you petition for no packing tape on art supplies🎉

NO, there are NOT all the colors of the rainbow, even if you had red. For that you would need;
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, INDIGO and violet.
