- Testing, installing, and providing some commentary on the Haier 6,200 BTU Serenity Series air conditioner model ESAQ406TZQ1. I do believe this is the quietest conventional style air conditioner you can buy today. The lower noise level does not call for any compromise in cooling power.
This is the beginning of the second cooling season on this machine. I did drill a drain hole in the base pan before the initial installation, and I did clean it before putting it away for the winter. Thus far, far very little rust has appeared. The compressor sounded a little rough on startup, but otherwise everything seems copacetic. The machine doesn't seem to have lost any of the charge and is working as well as it did last year. Наука
I got about 9 years out of a cheap modern unit- a 5000 btu manual controlled "Perfect Aire" brand unit. And for a modern unit it was pretty perfect. Quiet, efficient, and would cool a much larger space than it was rated for. Moved, hauled, taken camping. Fan motor bearings finally gave out and weren't easily replaced. I've had many window a/c units, new and vintage, and that was one of the best.
Thanks for letting me know.
My Grandma had a Friedrich 11,400 but window unit back around 1970. It was extremely quiet. Of course you did not hear the compressor unless you were outside.
Thanks for letting me know.
good to see a modern unit last more than a year (most don't). looking forward for more years of service.
It will be interesting to see how long this lasts.
Glad to see the Haier unit get some more hours put into it this year. That is certainly one of the most quality built and quiet units out there today. I believe Haier has made a lot of their units with vents on the top of their units. I believe it's only the 5000 BTU units that don't have that design these days. I know in my family I have a 7,800 BTU unit Haier that uses R-22 that is still quiet with the electronic control set. I believe Haier is one of the few appliance companies today that still make some decent products. Also, that has to be one of the biggest scissors I have ever seen! I think I have the mini version of that!
The thing that goes on top of the airconditoiner is called a track rail
I have the opposite issue as you have. My house has had stupid modern plastic windows installed, and for some reason they aren't a standard size. The opening is a standard size, but the window frames are very thick, and the windows aren't wide enough to fit many of the vintage units I would like to use. I have a late 50s or early 60s Philco Noiseless unit which I would love to use in my bedroom, it is very smooth and quiet, and blows ice cubes; but the window is like 4 inches narrow.
I don't know what it is with these replacement windows being stupid sizes.
I recently saw a video where R 32 will burn if a flame is held to it and extinguish without. I'd like to figure out how to trick a modern unit into thinking the room is warmer than it actually is. A thermometer shows the room is around 65 when the setting is 60. If I switch it over to fan not long after the compressor turns off, the units display quickly climbs to around 65 for the room temp.
You need to move the thermostat probe further away from the coil.
Nice giant scissor
Thanks
Good video bro i enjoyed the sound of the compressor I enjoyed the video
R32 is a blend of R410-a and R600(isobutane). R410-a was the replacement for R22 roughly 20 years ago. R600 has basically replaced R134-a in refrigerators and freezers. R410-a is not flammable…..R600 is HIGHLY flammable (it’s the liquid in cigarette lighters). When you mix them it makes R32 somewhat flammable.
Thanks for letting me know.
Never heard that R600 replaced R134-a. Glad to know the differences between these refrigerants.
Nice installation of this air conditioner excellent video bro
Thanks
My friend got one of those fancy hair AC but it was a different brand
Thats a nice ac unit
It's quite decent for something made today.
I have a portable friedrich unit 12,000 btu that is bouncing between 76 and 73. Once it reaches 73 compressor shuts off and comes back after its been 76
I like it
Nice air conditioner :)
It's decent for something made today.
The infrared receivers in these ACs are VERY sensitive, same thing with mine, I can point the remote in the opposite direction and the AC still picks up the signals. Also those scissors are huge.
Indeed.
Those scissors are awesome lol. Where did you get them? I gotta get myself a pair 🤣
Amazon
@@JordanU thank you
So is it better then all modern windows ACS
I love that pair of scissors lmao finally I know what the dry mode do. Running the fan slower and running the compressor longer... How many psi for high and low?
The fan and compressor run on the same speed as cool mode. There is absolutely no difference between dehumidify and cool, it's just some stupid sales gimmick to have both settings.
I have never checked the pressures on something like this, though it would be interesting to try someday.
Will you be doing any more fan cleaning and service videos in the fu
Why wouldn't I?
Where did you get this.
Home Depot I think
Amazon.
Artic King Queen
What about it?
5:00 The midea u-shaped air conditioner -- surprise, it's kinda junk -- goes all the way down to 60. Miraculously it froze my room but not the evap coil.
Thanks for letting me know.
Comically big sissors
