It's already a masterpiece when Calum wrote this for solo guitar in the first place, but Don Ross even took this piece to the higher level of beauty. IMHO Don Ross is the best player for duo-play, no doubt.
I agree completely. I fell in love with his Ebon Coast duet performance with Andy McKee. It's all about filling the spaces that feel best to you, and he feels a lot musically. The man is incredible.
I honestly think don ross is just such a great guy to collaborate with that he can write with almost anyone who has good feel lol But for sure some definite chemistry :D
Don Ross is very generous sound-maker. This partnership with Calum Graham reminds me the awesome Andy Mckee & Don Ross encounter, a couple of years ago.
Absolutely beautiful. This song makes me think of the late nights I had as a kid, hanging out with my friends in my old neighborhood. Thank you for that...
This is still some of the best stuff I’ve heard that is strictly acoustic. Absolutely lovely vibes gentleman, can’t give enough thanks. Truly amazing to listen to every time i turn it on
I probably have not listened this masterpiece for 4 or 5 years. Somehow I remembered of it today and now after listening this again my passion for guitar playing is restored. Thanks for that Calum and Don.
Just... pure delight. RUclips somehow brought this back around in front of me, years after I first listened to these wonderful gents’ duet album. Calum’s composition is melodic, airy, funky in places, groovin’... all at the same time. And it is brought to life in magnificent fashion by the deft musical touch and extraordinary chemistry between the two of them. I can understand why Don is pleased and proud of this collab. An understated, sweet masterpiece of expression and connection. I’m an admiring fan of both of them, for life.
It's mesmerizing to find two guys that "just met", making a masterpiece on the fly in sync keeping it fresh and creative while both lead and follows at the same time playing simultaneously through the entire song while none of them slowing down for the other or starting a contest for the lead Their commitment into making beauty instead of proving themselves is the incarnation of art
Don and Calum, thank you for this. The melody is perfect, harmonies are perfect, and this song has a way of bringing out a sense of joy and serenity. Coming from a fellow musician I appreciate you two, and the others like you. Thanks again!
This song to me, is the sound of love and discovery. I first heard it back in 2014 when I was starting my first relationship. At that time I was also starting college. When I hear it I'm instantly brought back to that time. When I hear this, love is in the air, love is in my heart.
Wow. As a guitar player and bass player for many years. What you guys are doing is an absolute creation of 2 masters of their craft. Unbelievably amazing
These two have Mastered Storytelling with their fingers, dancing across the fret boards, effortlessly hitting the sweets spots as they pluck harmonic's and then dive right back in the tension of the minors then resurfacing back to the melodious beauty. Today I took a ride on the magic carpet of 12:34....and I sense I felt the the Muse that sprinkled this tune to them....she is lushous and lovely... Respect to you both... I'd like to hear it in 432hz Bravo and beyond ~*
You two shine playing together. What a wonderful example of the creativity and brilliance of humanity. I thank you indeed. In fact I'm going to replay it right now. I'm 60 years young and finally getting very serious about playing fingerstyle guitar and being able to play the written note(s).
Thank you Don, for staying young and musically open-minded. And thank you Calum, for keeping Don young and fresh. I am super happy that Don can stay "in the front" of the fingerstyle movement, since he got me into it in the first place.
Don Ross is such an amazing accompanist, and Calum's song writing is superb as always. Man, just when I thought the acoustic guitar couldn't be played anymore skillfully and beautifully! I wish I had even half the skill these guys have.
What a great song. My favorite to this day is the don ross/andy mckee ebon coast duo. I'll listen to that song all day long on repeat and never get tired of it.
Calum is my new fave. Don Ross is a legend. I've been listening to Ewan Dobson for a while now, and he is epic. I love Candyrat Records and the artists they produce. You guys compliment each other so well in this song, and every other duo you've done together. Kudos guys...
Nice song with just Calum playing, absolutely beautiful with Don augmenting it!!! I can't count the times I've listened to this song. It moved me to buy the CD. Don & Calum - Lightning can strike twice. :-) I'm really impressed guys! Thanks!
Don, been following you and listening/buying your work since I discovered you on Narada Productions back in the 90's. Thanks for being the "spiritual" mentor of Calum. You have an awesome protege! At 23, he can only get better at this point. The metaphor of wine is very appropriate here. Calum, your unique wood thumb drive from your site with all your music AND tabs is an awesome idea, and I'm purchasing it this week. Look forward to learning to play (amatuer at best I assure you) some of your pieces.
Never heard your music before, (not that I am a "world authority" on all music out there), but because I am also playing the guitar, (and keyboard) and thought I would just take a "glimps" at it. End up listening to the whole piece - very soothing, relaxing, easy to listen to. And great guitar skill. Well done. Greetings from S.A.
Thanks for all the positivity, folks! :-)
+Don Ross much love
Keep playing like that, and you'll get all the positivity you can handle. :)
THANK YOU FOR EXISTING!

It's already a masterpiece when Calum wrote this for solo guitar in the first place, but Don Ross even took this piece to the higher level of beauty. IMHO Don Ross is the best player for duo-play, no doubt.
Yup! No ego... Just an awesome dude to get the song EVEN further!
I agree completely. I fell in love with his Ebon Coast duet performance with Andy McKee. It's all about filling the spaces that feel best to you, and he feels a lot musically. The man is incredible.
2:32 - 2:44 are the most beautiful chords Ive ever heard. Wow!

I honestly think don ross is just such a great guy to collaborate with that he can write with almost anyone who has good feel lol But for sure some definite chemistry :D

Don Ross is one of the most joyous musicians! It’s hard not feel your spirit lift listening to his compositions and performances!!
When I listen to this it feels like I’m on another planet🌎 The inner peace and love this radiates is tremendous✨✨ Who else agrees❓
Don Ross is very generous sound-maker. This partnership with Calum Graham reminds me the awesome Andy Mckee & Don Ross encounter, a couple of years ago.

Didn't know Don used a 7 for this. Pretty cool. CandyRat should organize a CGF winners' tour for the winter.

Very nice. Love this sound. Thanks for posting this guys. Made my day.
Amazing. Reminds me of when my brother and I used to play guitar together. We have drifted apart and don't see each other much any more . Sad.
It s great to stay together as brothers, united as much as possible.
This is absolutely great
You guys' duets are fantastic. Beautiful and complex composition and really skilled guitar playing. Love your stuff, much enjoyed!

What a great combo these two are
You guys are the best!!!
Toujours aussi plaisant ce qu'ils nous font ces deux-là..!
(et pour une fois, on a quelques images des manches et des doigts)
Don Ross' Tuning is Standard 7th Fret Capo with an Additional 7th String tuned to C. Have fun figuring out, i got it!:D
The bottom two strings are not capoed. They are tuned D and F#. The rest of the guitar is in standard tuning and capoed on the seventh fret.
