Ofcourse theyre Iranians. Azar means Atash & is a Persian term & Azarbayjan actually is Azarpayegan.After the invasion of Arabs, the letter P & G replaced by B and J due to Arabic vocals. Azarpaygan or Azarbayjan means the Base for the Fire as we had 1000s year old fireplaces or Atashkadeh there. Zartosht was born there and so many o our great mans like Babak & Sattar khan are from that Sacred land. After invasion of Turks the language of that area was impacted as the closest region to them.
