No auto tune, pitch correct, cut and paste computer protools editing. I love modern music but joe has more heart than most modern musicians. and that is a fact from a music teacher.
Do anyone have the lyrics for this one? Top tune. Joe Frazier is the bravest man ever walked the earth and everything around him and his spirit is just pure inspiration in every aspect of life. Including this tune!
I remember back in the day, when Joe was singing songs like this one, with "The Knockouts", and people were saying that he should just stick to fighting and forget about singing. But I'll tell you what...almost 40 years later, hearing this now, I can say that he sounds better than all the crummy rappers and probably about 80 percent of the so-called male vocalist out there today! A big thumbs up for you on this song, Champ, may you RIP!!!
I wasn't even alive when Joe was boxing and singing but I'm going to agree with you. If he was 25 years old today I say let the man sing and box! He would be better then all the atheletes around now, better then most singers too.
Thank you Musicdawn for keeping this historical music alive. "The Trash Man Blues". is a song that I wrote for Smokin Joe Frazier's drummer Charlie Brown its on you tube.
Rip Joe Frazier. A great Champion, and a Real Man. we Will never forget you. and thank you for some of the greatest fights you will ever see. You fought in a time Of the greatest heavyweights that ever lived and ducked nobody and beat some of the best and even the one they call the greatest fair n square.
Pleeease! If I hear another person complain about how Ali "mistreated" Joe Frazier I' m going to vomit. If anything Ali was good to Joe. He did, after all, make him rich. Yeah, he did ridicule Frazier to hype fights, but he did this to most of the guys he fought. It was just that Joe took it all too personally and seriously, even though he would always blatantly dis Ali by insisting on calling him "Clay."
@MrJoelouisbarrow How old am I? Old enough to have seen Frazier perform with "The Knockouts" on television during his title reign. I didn't see it on youtube, or years later, I saw it when he performed it live.
@strictlycomments "... hearing this now, I can say that he sounds better than all the crummy rappers and probably about 80 percent of the so-called male vocalist out there today! " Man, I would love to get my hands on what you've been smoking.
@lwmson Joe couldn't sell records bcz he was competing with the likes of Sinatra. My compliment to Frazier wasn't meant as much a compliment to his singing, as it was a shot at rappers and other talentless so-called artists of today. I don't even agree that Jay-Z is doing something right, I just think it's a sign of the times...and that kids will buy anything where there is a buzz regarding a particular product. That shit sucks...period! But at least we both respect JF as a boxing champ. Peace!
It never ceases to amaze me how people say the most favorable things about someone after that person passes--things they would never say when that person was alive. I mean, all due respect to Joe Frazier; he was great fighter, gallant champ, but a singer, especially on the basis of this record? Come on! But I guess no one can be a world champ at everything. RIP Joe.
He sing with soul and passion. Its a catchy track, I've heard far worse singers. Respect joe your a top man
Feel good song, remember seeing him sing it just in the year before he died.
R.I.P. Smokin' Joe.

Somebody told Joe he could sing, and he took it to heart.

@@lwmson You make me want to vomit.
@@lwmson Boo hoo he was Cassius Clay. CLAY’S words got Marvis Frazier bullied. CLAY’s name calling was much worse than Frazier calling CLAY Clay.

モハメド・アリは対戦相手を小バカにするかのような軽快なステップとウィービングが特徴的でしたが,そんなアリを必死にさせたのがフレイジャーとノートンだと思います.
日本も世界も熱く燃えていた時代だった.
What a talent
Does this song bring anyone else close to tears??
It does
His passion for singing is pretty great. Pretty good voice too. His singing of the national anthem surprised me
I like the lyrical twist...

Shut up. You sound so ignorant.
You basically just said that all the respect people pay to great people, who just so happen to be dead, are only saying it because they died?
