Mutant X caught a lot of flack and was dismissed by many but, I'm grateful for the noble attempt to give us a live-action, X-Men-inspired series❤🙏🏾👏🏾
The flack was well-deserved in my opinion BW Carter. This show had potential to be so much more than it turned out to be but the director and writers dropped the ball. I tried to like it at first but after a short while just lost interest. Take this fight scene for example between the heroine Shalimar and villainess Lena. Not much if any effort was put into choreographing this scene and the corny, lame dialogue also did not help.

I miss this show
You should know that Victoria Pratt is a very level athlete who has won medals in Canada in athletics. She also practices kickboxing and karate like her compatriot Kateryn Winnick from the Vikings series. As for Tiara Sorensen, she is good at martial arts too !!
That being said these fights scenes have terrible choreography

The production company faced many lawsuits and interference and in the beginning the girls wore tight sexy leather and they all had the X-men Vibe but on seasons 2 half there budget was destroyed and they lost there suits abs started wearing normal clothes. Season 3 they sort of had there outfits but still toned down.
I loved this show just finished it
The Matrix and Crouching Tiger had a lot to answer for when it comes to the quality of female fight scenes in the 00's.
Every fight choreographer was suddenly like "Nobody wants to see these two women actually hitting each other at any point... Let's just have 'em leap around the place with some whooshy sound effects!"

It went from actual fighting to a dance routine very quickly, but that's Hollywood for ya.

Shalimar was a feral panther mutant, Lena was an insect type mutant. Meaning Shalimar had Panther speed Panther strength in Panther senses... Lena either had reptile speed reptile senses and can spit acid or it could have been insects speed insect senses
