Always like the tables map of Westeros on dragonstone one of the coolest thing about the out post. Glad the show is showing us more of dragonstone especially the mountains it neighbor too.
I feel like being lord of Dragonstone and the areas surrounding would be ideal. It's in the perfect position to trade with west, east, north, and south. It's nigh impregnable and I imagine the sights would be heavenly. Not to mention due to the nature of it's construction I doubt it requires all that much upkeep since it wasn't made with traditional stone, and is much more durable to time. Few would be able to challenge you at sea or siege and the potential for trade would be enormous. It's a shame the Targaryens did basically nothing with it after Aegons Conquest. Dragonstone could have become one of the great seats in the Kingdom but it was basically left to collect dust.
First to take the black for house Targaryen!!! 🐉🐉🐉 The island named dragonstone itself is just so bad ass! Loved it since I first saw it and I love what they have done with in House Of The Dragon
1st to take the Black for House Blackfyre🗡 The traditional seat of the heir to the throne should have gone to so many Blackfyre princes. Also I know it's a little over the top. But I think the fact that literally everything in the castle is dragon shaped is hilarious.
The Valyrians must have thought “jackpot” when they found Dragonstone because it is a volcanic island and Dragons thrive best in those places. There is a lot of talk about how being chained up and confined stunted the dragons growth and size. But let’s not forget, that happened to the dragons chained up in the Dragon Pit, far away from any volcanic activity.
I still think there's a link between the three royal deaths associated with the birth of Daenerys (Rhaegar, Aerys and Rhella) and the three deaths associated with the birth of her dragons (Viserys, Rhaego and Drogo).
From what i can tell it's because essentially the whole island is physically the volcano with very little by the way of soil being more rocky, kinda like the issues the iron islands has with farming in the way. If the landscape were just a little different with more soil then i think it would be a good place to farm thanks to the volcanic soil
i found it a crime to not mention rhaena targaryen, elder sister of king jahaerys I's stories about dragonstone sidenote: your checker triple-headed dragon sigil is neat as fuck
"With farming a bleak prospect" That can't be true. Volcanic ash is nutrient rich and can make the surrounding soil very fertile. This is why the island of Jakarta is the world's most populous island.
So then...wouldn't that mean that literally EVERYONE on dragon stone are like cousins or something to the Targaryen & velaryons? & wouldn't these people still BE on dragon stone in the baratheon era? I'd also imagine that "legally/technically" the Hightower line of the targaryens live on dragon stone, seeing how we only know of thw "ACKNOWLEDGED" bastard of aegon ii(Gaemon palelhair) but not of his "presumed" son & daughter via an unknown mother(I actually have ocs based off these 2)

I know some people didn't like it. But I was very impressed with what they did with the painted table.

You are all frauds. You and your failled rebelions. Robert Baratheon and the Baratheon kin are the only true heirs of power in Westeros.
CK2AGOT I always took Dragonstone. CK3AGOT I do the same. Especially now with the dragon update coming out this summer!
These are very useful little lore breakdowns. Thank you for the work that went into these!!

Love the video! Alwaly liked Dragonstone. However, my true question is: where can I find the map of Westeros you used on the background?
How come farming is difficult on Dragonstone if it's a vulnanic island? Isn't vulcanic soil very fertile?

I am not going to want anything coming out of Dragonstone has to be evil purely because of the aesthetic.

Great video.
Would you be interested in doing a collab with me in the future? If you're interested, is there any place we can talk?
definitely something i'm open to, best thing to do would be email the address on the about page.
@@WorldOfWesteros Awesome! I'll send you an e-mail to discuss the details.
