    They gave Jerod a shot. He just stunk up the joint. You can have a bad team but the culture was worse, putting the team under the bus. And the Rooney Rule sucks

    • @jackthequarterback
      @jackthequarterback 22 часа назад

      The Rooney rule is actually racist. All it does is force teams to waste the time of a couple minority coaches that weren’t being seriously considered for merit reasoning’s and not race. No teams in 2025 are passing on a great coach because of their skin color.

    I said from the time Bill Bellicheck left that Vrabel was the guy, I was so disappointed in the Mayo fire because I thought Mayo had so much potential too but he just wasn't ready, only had lb coaching experience I thought Vrabel was the guy to get and if he did bad after all that time maybe promote Mayo after Mayo has years as our DC. Why'd they hire Mayo and then fire him only to hire Vrabal a year later? Contractual obligations under a designated successor clause, which Mayo was to Belichik. This is how they were able to hire Mayo without doing any Rooney rule interviews, and no hiring a minority coach doesn't get out of the Rooney rule obligations, you still gotta interview two minority candidates from outside the organization (yep it's a dumb rule all the way around but it is what it is).

      @ He wants to give Mayo the benefit of the doubt because Mayo has been an important part of the Patriots and Mayo was a rookie hc. I love JD's videos but he also thought Mac Jones would have a breakout year in 2023 and the Patriots would be a sleeper team and bounce back from 2022, it was a disaster of course comparable to Mayo's first year. Everyone can be wrong about things though we're only human, not an insult towards JD at all.
      I was excited for Mayo too and thought he would be a good coach that could get us to 7-9 wins until I saw him try and lecture everyone about how we need to see race in all of our players but yet it doesn't matter and how he did next to nothing to stop the fights in training camp. I think what really affirmed it was when he called our players 'soft' and then they got mad and stopped giving their 100%. Belichick NEVER downed his players as tough as he was on them and he never called them 'weak' if we got blown out after a game.

    RKK wanted Mike Vrabel as the next Pats HC the whole time but he couldn’t hire him because it was already in Jerod Mayo’s contract that he was gonna be BB’s successor & the next HC. If Robert hired Mike over Jerod when it was already in his contract RKK & the Pats would’ve faced a MASSIVE lawsuit. It’s not like Robert & the Pats didn’t give Jerod an opportunity because they definitely did. Was the team bad last season obviously but it’s an opportunity being HC regardless & that was his chance to create a new culture & he didn’t do that. He wouldn’t have gotten fired if he was actually doing his job & improving every week & not regressing every week. He called the team “soft” publicly,constantly threw coaches/players under the bus,& NEVER took accountability for anything. He literally chose to play cards with the players on the plane ride back home after the Cardinals game instead of watching,studying,& going over film like he should’ve been doing with the other coaches. He just wasn’t ready to be HC & deserved to be fired because the team was so dysfunctional & had so much friction that even the players started to not believe in him & his vision anymore. Once RKK had the opportunity to officially hire Mike Vrabel as the team’s next HC who he wanted the whole time that’s exactly what he did. Mike Vrabel is BB’s TRUE successor & I truly believe that & I wouldn’t doubt it that Robert feels the same way. Jerod Mayo is gone now & we are moving on to bigger & better things now. We are officially in the Mike Vrabel era as the Pats HC❤️💙

    I don't like this, mainly because I wanted Ben Johnson as I believe Ben would have been able to steer this team and this organization into new and innovative direction. Now, we have Vrabel and considering the hype around him and knowing how Tennessee didn't end all that well I have my concerns and plenty of expectations.
    I expect the team to improve and find a way to be average or even above average next season but within the next 3 years I need to see this team win at least 10 games in a season and win the AFC East. No, I don't care about who is in Buffalo, go through Josh Allen if you really wanna be a tough team. 2028 is when the Patriots must be fullt recognized as contenders once again.

    Get ready for the media calling out race again. Just like how The Celtics let go off Ime (again they still hired a black coach after Ime left)

      Which is crazy bc half the league is black players. Why aren’t they making a fuss about over representation of black players? lol

    Overrated head coach, overrated offensive coordinator... The Patriot way was all Tom Brady being on the team as he proved when he left for The Bucs... This about to flop, bookmark this

      Tom Brady wouldn't even get the opportunity he needed or the development that was necessary unless he was a Patriot. You think Tom could succeed with the Chargers or the Falcons? Please. 😂😂😂

      hating on a head coach who has proved himself worthy of turning teams around is crazy work even if he does flop he’s got more NFL games won than you 🤷‍♂️
