- There are a lot of covers of this pretty little song from Skyrim, some of them very popular, and I was stumped with how to bring 'something new' to this track. I decided not to go the slow ballad way - instead I pumped up the tavern jollyness. I did this in a Celtic session-style, complete with instrumental solos and rougher playing. Just a single vocal line. Really happy with the results...it's definitely tavern music XD
I also wrote two new verses for this song. It was way too short to span into a workable song (at least for me) so I wrote and added verses 3 and 4. Hopefully they fit and aren't jarring with the rest of the lyric.
For the video, I booted up Fraps and had some fun filming in my game, making use of a lot of console commands....you can even see my game going buggy because of it in a few scenes, lol. I ended up with over 300 GBs of footage and it took me two days to go through it to edit into video form. haaaa....

Whenever I play Skyrim and ask bards to sing this, I always refer to it as “The Ballad Of Me”

Same here. After hearing it butchered by some of the NPCs it's great to hear a this song done properly. The video was a nice touch too.

Personally, Malukah's is still the best version I have heard but this is a close second. Both are superb.
i tried to translate the dovahzul in the top and bottom of the video, this is what i came up with:
*first, in romanized dovahzul:*
viing ko fin krah ahrk fin kel
kruziik vokun staadnau fod zeym
*and translation:*
wing in the cold and the elder scroll
ancient shadow unbound at the time of -zeym-
couldn't find the translation to the supposed word 'zeym' though, maybe i read it wrong..
anyway, if anyone wanted- enjoy.

I play alot of skyrim and........ this is the best version of "the draginborn comes" i have ever heard. Send it to the makers of skyrim i think they would love it but i love it more.
I heard this while playing TES online it was playing on the loading screen and so I decided to get on RUclips and listen to it while playing lol 😅 I like this one better. The original was awesome too but this version is more happy sighs Worthy

An excellent piece. I have heard many renditions performed by other artists and yours is one of the best and you showed great creativity with the addition of the 2 additional verses to bring the song more into the present of Skyrim's story rather than being just an ancient tale of a battle long past.
The other artist that did an excellent job with this piece was Malukah and I would be very interested to hear something such as this where you worked together on it. There a slight variation to styles but I believe they could compliment each other in so far as the Skyrim Ballads go.

Heard that song quite enough times in-game, but this was the very first time I got the chills, good performance

I played Dragon Age Inquisition and it had some good music that I think would be perfect for you to sing. I think it's when you get to the first camp that you can go into a tavern and listen to a bard play and sing some good music. It keeps track of what you've heard in your codex so you can look it up later.
