Lady Antebellum - Need you now - piano (motif XS8)

- This is my (bit slower) version of Lady Antebellum's "need you now". I added a synth pad back to fill up the audio and make it a bit more smooth. Recording is done using cubase 5.

Wondering if you've played the S90? I can't decide if I want an S90SX or a Motif XF8. I'm not really into sequencing at this point - possibly in a few years. I tend to hang onto my gear for a long time.

Would you use the XS8 in a live performance? You mentioned that the Fantom G6 was better for live. I am looking for the recording features of the Yamaha, but also want the organ sounds of a Hammond B3 as in "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum and the Farfisa organ in the Doors "Lght My Fire". Can the XS8 replicate these voices?

Btw what do you mean with "Its live so there's no real arpeggio"? The concept of arpeggio is playing the notes of a chord not simultaneously but in a sequence, just like a harp player would do in their instrument, which is basically what you do on 2:14.
i just bought a like new XS7. And im very happy. ill use it at church or gigs. And my kronos 2 will be left in my home studio. 😂

@ikkejick Thats a great keyboard . it has its own class. One of the best ever by YAMAHA and the best Grand piano for that price :)

How did you add the synth pad to sit under the piano?
I found this version during a long search for the Piano Tribute Maestro cover, which in itself is very soft and cleverly made, so after listening to many of the versions, I can say with confidence that this is an excellent version from one of good musicians. However, I hope You already know this, so thank you very much for what you do, and please keep doing this

Rick Jansen now that I found out you have a Korg Kronos I think I'm going to have a head ache. I am having a very hard time which board to choose. Yamaha Motif XF8 or Korg Kronos 2 2015 model 88 keys. Is it true that Motif is completely gone? if that's the case then Kronos is a good investment then. I use to have a Korg M1 but it died a natural death a few years back. Thanks and God bless you.

No, it doen't have internal speakers. You'll need an active spreakerset.
