I do love Riley's idea of picnic food, she had the container with the chocolate and strawberries right at her place at the table! LOL. What a lovely way to celebrate. It's good for the kids to see that grapes grow on vines and to see where all our food comes from. Riley's new duds are so cute, but I guess not as cute as her owl PJs. Jackson is doing so well with his pincer grip. 'Necessity is the mother of invention.' Food encouraged him to get his pincer grip in gear so he could grab more things well. Good for him. The muscles have to be ready, but there has to be a reason for us to use our faculties, too. A craft cart is a good idea for Riley. It will help her learn how to clean-up after herself. You may have been having bad headaches from withdrawal, but they were likely not migraines or cluster headaches. Those are not merely bad headaches. They are quite specific medical conditions that involve complex problems and flatten you. You do not generally continue to function safely at all with either of those. You get auras and vomit and hold onto walls to merely walk. It is recommended one go to bed to be safe. You could not have functioned. We need to be careful not to call colds the flu and not to call bad headaches migraines. It diminishes the gravity, severity of the other problems, illnesses and their danger to one's health. It's akin to the difference between having the baby blues and postpartum depression, which can send women into psychotic episodes. Riley did a beautiful paint job on her clubhouse. My mother got upset when my brother kept eating with his hands. She went to our pediatrician about it who said, "Florence, what do you think we ate with before we invented utensils?" So she didn't worry after that. My brother turned out to be a major fussbudget about messiness anyway, so she didn't have to worry. Does Riley always just tell you to do or get things or is she learning to use 'please' and 'thank you' and 'may I' and things that make life gentler when you want or need something, rather than just demanding it? When Riley goes to kindergarten, she may nap when she gets home after lunch again because she might get tuckered-out enough to need one. That's assuming it's a half day in mornings. If she has afternoons, they may have them rest on mats there. Tell yourself you will become a good cook or they will throw you out of the Cuban-American club because Cuba has such a wonderful cuisine. LOL. You have no excuse, it is a food traditions centered culture. Sorry but I laughed when Jackson was laughing while trying to get away from you on the bed, not realizing he could go flying off it. He''s having fun and you are trying to keep him from getting hurt. Such a cutie. Hey, don't midlife crises come around ages 40-50? Ice cream cake is such a nice treat, isn't it? And you are not any crazier on a day by day basis than many of the rest of us. We are all cheering you on. There are real crazies and evildoers in this world. Sometimes, I really get jealous of people who can buy things that they want, like not the expensive fancy ones but the simple things like clothes. I even struggle to buy a dress and shoes that I can wear going to the Church. I know I am blessed in so many different ways but I wonder how nice it would feel to not wanting to buy stuff because you already have tons of them. I'm sorry for venting out, I just don't have someone to talk to about these things. hehe I love watching your videos because you are like my goal. Thank you for the inspiration! :)
