So much easier to keep going without getting tired. I used to think it's the rope problem or it's just too short. Causing the tripping. I haven't jumped rope in 20 years but already I can't approach anything close to good form with this length. Really wish I'd taken exact measurements rather than following the sizing range (which I was at the upper edge of already for L, bordering on XL!) and being disappointed after 2 weeks shipping wait.

GREAT VIDEO. I'm 71 years old a former competing athlete and Holistic Health Consultant. I love jumping rope. I'm a beginner and had to chill because of knee discomforts derived from sneakers that needed to be replaced. I'm starting again and ordering the 9ft rope because I'm 5' 11". Have you considered doing Senior Citizen discounts with age verification of course? I must lose about 15+ pounds and love being in shape. I'm easily mistaken for being 45 to 50 years old.
I found this video very informative. Thanks. It seems a lot of people don’t like the idea of investing just over 13 mins in the concept of jump rump sizing and presumably after doing so they still don’t understand... if you are a beginner just starting out follow the size chart. As a general rule the more proficient you are the shorter your rope should be (a shorter rope is faster and more efficient however you have much less margin for error) so typically I’m 5.11-6FT tall and I use a size S for the heavier ropes DUs and fast speed sessions and a size M (1/4 Lb and 1/2 LB) for general fitness which would include some freestyle. I also have 9ft long handled 4mm PVC and 5mm short handled ropes which I use exclusively for freestyle. (I can tweek them by tying knots in them). So like he says in the video there is no one size does all just depends what your doing with the rope and how proficient you are.
This was so helpful I’m a beginner jumper with some past experience as a child but I think my hand placement has everything to do with the arch of my ropes

What it tells me is that I ordered the wrong size by using the chart on your Crossrope page. Based on your chart, as a 5'11" person, I ordered Large. Based on this video, I have now come to the realization that I should have ordered the medium. Now I have to wait for the package to arrive on Sunday, send it back while at the same time ordering the Medium length ropes. Such a waste of time.
I wish you all did this vid with a few jumpers of different heights. But seeing you use the 8' rope let's me know I could do the same despite being in the the 8.5' recommended range. I do wonder if I could use the 7.5' rope though since I keep my hands low & tight. The return/exchange policy helps.
I am an experienced jumper I bought a size small 3 oz yellow in the replacement rope but I TIE A KNOT on one side of it ! now I need to replace the yellow 3 ounce rope again should I buy the extra small in the 3 oz since I tie a knot on one side of the 3 ounce rope size small ??? that is my problem! Confused! I am 5 “ 7

I am the same height. I am not an experienced jumper. I just received my Crossropes today & I feel that the medium is to long. I will try some of his technique adjustments before returning.
I am 5'11. What size would you recommend for me?? I have bought COSCO (Company) rope? Is it sufficient enough... Please suggest some beginner exercise...
You are great!...I have a problem: my left arm is weaker than the right, so my left wrist/hand stay lower when I jump.Besides that, I can not do CROSSOVER in a smooth way(I tried many times) and I think it is because the diffence of the wrists/hands...I do not know!!! How can I solve this?....I am worried about it because I have already knot the rope but it did not solve the problem.
Very happy with my crossrope, but I have a question. I am 5'11''. I went with the chart and got the Large (6') Get Strong set. I find when I put a knot in the rope it shortens to 8' 2'' and I find it much easier and much more stable to jump (I am not a beginner). At full length, the 1lb rope is harder to control, I'm less stable and have to work hard to keep control. Is the full length a better work out because it is harder to control? Is shortening the rope just an easier way to go faster? You say that it is 'more efficient', which suggests you use less energy, or are their physical benefits to having a shorter rope? I'm wondering if I need the medium (8' 6'').
Med will be fine I am 5'11" and switched from large to Med. if I was trying for speed on double unders, I might even try small. Still a novice so I will stick with my mediums for now. Shorter ropes require good form. Longer ropes give more rope for crosses and other moves.
wonderful video to explain what sizing would be best for me, thanks Dave. I'll be odering a medium size. Looking forward to my Crossrope addition to my home gym
@@roninwarrior216 It depends on two things: The heavier the rope, the louder it will be. However, the make or material of the surface you are jumping over can also reduce the noise (being more absorbant) or increase (hollow or thin surface).

Hi. I have just purchased my new 2 and 3 lbs. Crossrope Jump ropes last month with the performance handles. One handle is making a clicking sound while I'm skipping with the ropes. I tried lubricating the handles where I assume the bearings are right at the end where the metal part is and the loops with a spray industrial all purpose equipment lubricant but it's still clicking while I'm using it. Is there a way to fix this?? Thanks.
I'm really looking into getting a Crossrope set even if shipping to Germany adds 30 bucks to the bill. But I think a set of one light and one heavy rope would be the best way to go. Is there a reason for not offering a set like this? There was one with the first gen cross ropes, right?
So exciting. i am considering buying the lean set. I am 175 cm and my current jump rope is 2.54m between handles which is quite comfortable for me. Should i buy the Medium size or Small? Thank you in advanced.
Hello, I just order the get lean rope set a while ago. I'm pretty new to jump rope. I have been jumping rope for a month now. I'm wondering if their would be a way to resize the rope myself. I'm only 158 cm. tall so I ordered the shortest rope (S). If in the future, I would like to make it shorter, will that be possible to do it on my own?
You can shorten the rope by tying a loose knot on one or both sides, as needed. 4/5 inches down from the handles. I did that with mine. It does make a difference & it won't hurt the rope. I have a cr set also. Hope that helps.
Hello!! I just bought a brand new crossrope size Large. I am a beginner jumper and my height is 175cm. Is size large okay for my height or should I change it to Medium ? Thank you!!
I'm 5'10 and I use a 10 foot jumprope (crossrope). I hate short jumpropes because when you try to do crossovers and other tricks the jumprope shortens. Don't listen to their recommendations they are too short IMO. Don't believe me? Go watch Mayweather jumprope and check out how long his rope is.
Hi I'm 5' 3.5" tall. Right on the line for the S that I ordered. Do I need to exchange it for the M? I've noticed that I'm tripping up and was wondering if it was because I needed to size up.
That's what I'm getting is the 9 ft ropes or large because I'm 5 ft 9 in tall myself that way you can hold the handles either way in close or out for better control !!
I’m not sure that I’m skilled enough to answer, and I’m sure it depends on your personal form. But my crossrope arrived today and I got a chance to test it out this evening. I’m 5’9” so I ordered the large and it felt like it was a little too long for me. In the morning I’m going to measure it compared to the cheap one I’ve been using and see how it feels for my morning exercise. I have a feeling that I’ll end up exchanging the large for a medium.
Just an update, I was only 3 inches shorter with my speed rope than my cross rope. With a bit of practice, I’m comfortable with the large size. Either way, they have a 60 day money back guarantee so I’d pull the trigger on one and give it a week of practice before you make a decision about changing rope size. I think I could use the medium or large and I bet I’d be happy with either one. Honestly try it for a week and you will be amazed at how much better you feel. At this point, losing the weight will just be a bonus. Also, check out jump rope dudes on RUclips. They’re really great and I like their energy and simple strategies
My rope was 8’6 but I found that I was over jumping. When recording myself jumping I saw that I was going about 5-6 in off the ground. Is this typical? I shortened to an 8 ft rope and found that I jump a lot closer to the ground under 3in.
One question I have is the sizing chart when you order rope length at cross rope, alot of people are sending back for shorter, also putting knots in, which cannot be good for cables?
less is more! get it to the general armpit/ upper chest level and then gradually shorten from there. test before cutting because you can't put it back together. note: there will be a new getting used to the new length period and more tripping will be expected. the shorter the rope the less room for error, but you will adjust with practice.
@Lil Crazy Bullet Which size did you end up ordering? I’m having trouble deciding as well. Was leading towards the small for my 5’5” height reading the other comments.

Hi, i was thinking to get a get lean infinity set but with an extra 1 lb rope. Can the get lean slim handles connect to a 1 lb rope? Or do i need to purchase a power rope for that?
Hi Mate, can I cut the rope if I want to make adjustment? I'm 5"5 and will be buying M but incase I find it too long, can I shorten it and put the attachment back?

Hello, I just order the get lean rope set a while ago. I'm pretty new to jump rope. I have been jumping rope for a month now. I'm wondering if their would be a way to resize the rope myself. I'm only 158 cm. tall so I ordered the shortest rope (S). If in the future, I would like to make it shorter, will that be possible to do it on my own?
You can shorten the rope by tying a loose knot on one or both sides, as needed. 4/5 inches down from the handles. I did that with mine. It does make a difference & it won't hurt the rope. I have a cr set also. Hope that helps.
Sir the ropes full set is too expensive in india that 17000 we will get other rope at 1000 max 2000 plzz do some thing for that
Hello!! I just bought a brand new crossrope size Large. I am a beginner jumper and my height is 175cm. Is size large okay for my height or should I change it to Medium ? Thank you!!

Thank you!
Haha I came for he comments for this
recentlty buy get strong set and i love it.
ps: sidney mcbride and jeannete is the best in handling shipping issue
Sydney and Jeannette are the best :)
Happy you're enjoying your set Luki!
Good Tech sir Thanks..
I follow your Instructions..!
I'm 5'10 and I use a 10 foot jumprope (crossrope). I hate short jumpropes because when you try to do crossovers and other tricks the jumprope shortens. Don't listen to their recommendations they are too short IMO. Don't believe me? Go watch Mayweather jumprope and check out how long his rope is.
do you have to buy the thicker handles for the heavier ropes? Or will the slim handles work just fine?
The Get Lean handles (thinner ones) Will only work for the 1/4 lbs & 1/2 lbs ropes. The thicker handles are for the 1 lbs & 2 lbs ropes.
kevo598 Finally, the answer I was looking for. Thanks
The best instructional video I've seen so far, thank you.
Thanks a lot crossrope jump rope dude.
Is there a way to shorten the length of the rope if it's too long?
The ropes aren't adjustable
Tie a loose knot
Whats up with he camera person. Get a tripod. HOLD STILL
the stupid gimbal he is using is making all of those unnecessary movements lol
It was shot at sea.
your site makes it hard for a beginner 6"2 guy lol sizing is either gonna be barley enough or way too much
I’m 4’8 and yes I’m aware I’m short. The size 8 rope, it is big for me. What do I do?
We have smaller ropes available at crossrope.com/xxs
Crossrope Jump Ropes are these on the website? Because I’m not finding it on the website, online through the link
Okay, but how do I cut my crossrope to my liking?
Hi I'm 5' 3.5" tall. Right on the line for the S that I ordered. Do I need to exchange it for the M? I've noticed that I'm tripping up and was wondering if it was because I needed to size up.
I bought the size M. Im 5ft 8 but i kept tripping over the rope. Ive order the L size hopefully that sort it out. Did you size up?
@tbfundy perfect size mate
Check your technique,,, Im 5'4 and got the med,, my hands were too far out so i exchanged it for a small,,, perfect now
@@DonManolo01 I'm 5'5 do you think I should get a small or medium?
@fLippY which size did you end up getting? I’m having the same issue deciding. Was heading towards getting the small.
Is large good for 5'9"?
That's what I'm getting is the 9 ft ropes or large because I'm 5 ft 9 in tall myself that way you can hold the handles either way in close or out for better control !!
@@jeffreyelliott622 hm.. let me know how it goes! I want to know your opinion. ^_^
Im about 5'8, what do you think 🤔.
Sm Med or Lg.
Thanks.
Thanks Seth.
Vary helpfull and good info!
My rope was 8’6 but I found that I was over jumping. When recording myself jumping I saw that I was going about 5-6 in off the ground. Is this typical? I shortened to an 8 ft rope and found that I jump a lot closer to the ground under 3in.
I’m 5’7
only need to jump 1- 2 inches. 6-8 inches for doubles.
One question I have is the sizing chart when you order rope length at cross rope, alot of people are sending back for shorter, also putting knots in, which cannot be good for cables?
You can put knots in your ropes so long as you remove them after use. This should not cause any long term damage.
Helpful video , but I cant surely size my speedrope :( and cuz I want to cut it , i dont know where to cut
less is more! get it to the general armpit/ upper chest level and then gradually shorten from there. test before cutting because you can't put it back together. note: there will be a new getting used to the new length period and more tripping will be expected. the shorter the rope the less room for error, but you will adjust with practice.
But how do you actually cut it? Where do you open etc? Help??
I’m 6’4 and just bought the extra large size. Was that a mistake?
Was it ?
@@lennon7363 it wasn’t! Fits perfectly :))
Im 5.5" should i get size 9" or 8'6" jump rope?
I got the medium and I’m 5’5. Add about an inch with my ultra boost or puma RS-X on so I skipped the small
@Lil Crazy Bullet Which size did you end up ordering? I’m having trouble deciding as well. Was leading towards the small for my 5’5” height reading the other comments.
@@MystiqueRoz I'm also 5'5" - cannot decide between small and medium. Did you end up buying a rope? I've been scrolling through to find someone of the same height who commented, but no luck yet! Thanks!! :)
@@deborahlee7975 I ended up buying a weighted jump rope from Amazon instead.
@@deborahlee7975 but from comments on other videos I think the small would have worked for me since I don’t jump that high off the ground. Let me know which one you end up getting.
I am exactly 5’4 should I get small or medium
Can’t decide as well.
Hi, i was thinking to get a get lean infinity set but with an extra 1 lb rope. Can the get lean slim handles connect to a 1 lb rope? Or do i need to purchase a power rope for that?
Hi there! Though they are compatible, the weight of the rope may cause too much strain on your wrists and the handles.
I got mine today " Get Lean Set" Crossrope... And I'm proud I am a newbie. Practice Practice Practice and never give up.💪🏽👆🏽
2 years later I am a newbie. You got that right...practice!
How is it going?
I bought the lean set and I am 5'1. I bought size small yet i feel its a bit long. How can I shorten it?
Per research the ropes are not adjustable.
Tie a knot in the rope.
I found out they come in XS. If you contact them you can ask for an exchange.
Can I use the lean set handles with the power set?
The infinity handles are only compatible with the infinity ropes.
Thanks!
Hi Mate, can I cut the rope if I want to make adjustment? I'm 5"5 and will be buying M but incase I find it too long, can I shorten it and put the attachment back?
No, you cannot adjust these ropes. You should buy the correct size. If the rope is the wrong size you should exchange it for the correct size
Medium should be fine. I’m 5’5 as well and I feel medium is great, not too long, not too short
@mjojr jr I’m also 5’5” but from some of the comments I feel like I should get the S. Which size did you end up getting and how is it working for you?
@@MystiqueRoz hi, I ended up buying M and leave it as it is. Very Slightly longer but gives me more chance to do tricks... Hope that helps 😊
Hey, What’s the weight of the 8’ ripe? The one you’re using in this video
Each color has a different weight.
Ren Tro So what’s the weight?
Lola Manny Depends which rope you are referring to. There’s the Lean Set with 1/4 lbs (green) & 1/2 lbs (white) and Strong Set 1 lb (grey) & 2 lbs (black). All the info is at Crossrope.com
Anybody 5'9.5" and have the medium? Thoughts? I feel like if he has the small size and is 6' I should be fine right?
I sort of have the same question. I’m the same height. My old one was 8 feet. But I bought the medium yesterday. Did I make the right choice?
I'm 5'9 and got the large heavy ropes, only tries the 1 pound rope so far and seems fine, but feel I should have gone medium based on this video...
@@billnye5600 Hey, I'm the same height and want to order the medium. Do you like the medium length rope? Thanks.
Which size did you choose guys, small been alright?
Dang i did no check the size
I'm 5'10, what is the suggested size I should go for?
You should be good with a Large
@@Crossrope Thanks for the quick reply!! I'm ordering right now!
@@mrprivette How is the Large rope? Was it a good size or?
Can the length be adjusted on the 1lb or any of the ropes?
The rope length is not adjustable. We offer them in set lengths based on your height
@@Crossrope maybe in the future you will offer that, otherwise, the other 1,2 companies which are very good too will take a lot of customers from crossropes...that's a thing I always hear, that crossrope is one of the best, but they are not so competative any more to everjump for example because of this problem...
If you just buy a single rope and not the bundles, are handles included or do you have to buy them separately?
The handles come separately!
David from Cross rope pfft !

Might want to re-record this. It sounds like a Charlie Brown special. Also it really hurts to listen to with headphones.
I really didn't know jumping rope was so hard for some people. As a kid I had what was available too long too short never mattered I just jumped faster or slower depending on the length. I didnt even know you could change the length of a jump rope.
Obrigado 👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
