You guys NEED to cover Sabu vs The Sandman in a Tables and Ladders match from ECW November to Remember 1997. A match that’s best remembered for Sandman being high on acid and blowing all of his spots across TWENTY MINUTES
I hope they'll watch it as well. If Sully didn't see it, he will have a great time. Though there's a difference between a good comedy match and a bad match.
Very smart for us to use the first two matches to establish the two extremes of the leaderboard - the "so bad it's depressing" end from Heroes of Wrestling, and "so bad it wraps back around to being good" for this match.
Fun fact: not only is Bryce Remsburg the referee of this match, it is commentated by Excalibur. Also Claudio Castagnoli vs Ricochet was on this card as well as Orange Cassidy, Evil Uno, Drew Gulak, Joaquin Wilde, Matt Sydal, and Lince Dorado.
Ken the Box and many other "monsters" have been regulars in Saitama Pro Wrestling in Janan. They almost always faced the owner/star of SPWC Survival Tobita.
Chikara was my absolute favourite thing about wrestling. When it folded, I stopped watching wrestling entirely. I was too heartbroken. Smooth Sailin Ashley Remington vs Chuck Taylor where Ashley gives him a fruit basket at the end of the match is still one of my all time favourite things followed by time travelling Archibald Peck and Bryce getting confused and thinking he is The Undertaker.
They also had the best way to catch up with the shows during the days when you had to buy their dvd's, and I was a broke young boi. Their Chikara-gogo podcast, which would give you storyline drops, promos, and select matches is the only video podcast I had watched religiously. So many good matches. So many good moments. Long Live Ultramantis Black.
At least King actually wrestled. Er, well, his motion capture artist, Minoru Suzuki did... oh, and there was that time Okada wrestled as King in a NJPW match to promote the Tekken 7 NJPW collaboration. Not a bad pair of wrestlers to get portrayed by, eh.
Mike Quackenbish saw the epic finish from Magnum TA/Tully Blanchard I Quit match from Starrcade 1985 and thought "How can we do that finish, but better?" And came out with this.
I'd love to see episodes with Kenny Omega vs. Haruka, the 9yr old girl he wrestled in Japan, or any of the matches with Omega or Kota Ibushi vs a doll. The problem is, no matter how bad those matches can seem from the standpoint of 'I can't believe he's actually doing this..', all of those matches are entertaining and not the worst of the bad.
OG TEMPEST MASK! Also. I work at a grocery store here in the states. Had a crackhead try to fight me after furiously barking at the ground. This is EXACTLY what i needed
I love that this series is back but...man it doesn't feel the same without the Brew Dog box and them drawing out the next match on camera. Still excited to see what they watch this season though.
This is the equivalent to Football to the Groin, “That’s it, this series is over, nothing’s topping the brilliance of this match.” Even Senior Spielbergo couldn’t have crafted a better match
That was the best worst match. That was frickin hilarious. Tune in next time, where Luke probably still won't remember that the Buschwhackers are New Zealanders and not Australian
I just laughed so f’n hard at my desk at work watching this and the amount of people looking at me like wtf dude is worth every second of it! Ken the Box for President!
Chikara was legendary, probably my favorite promotion of all time. For all the silliness they knew when to dial it back and let the best workers go, so you got the fun stuff along with some great 00s Indie action (Claudio Castagnoli aka Cesaro was their big star and seeing him booked like that was every bit as awesome as you'd hope). The combination of wrestling students and silliness could fill list upon list of bad or weird matches, though, no doubt.
These look like hidden characters on an old PS1 wrestling game. They would totally fit in with the random ghosts and bears and junk that I wrestled as.
Y'all haven't seen anything yet until you see the most intense title match yet. Cocolo the dachshund vs. A ladder for the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship.
I loved chikara man. My post college years just learning what indie wrestling was and a friend turned me to this promotions that I wish still had legs in 2024 as it would be such a killer company. Out of this world gimmicks with the occasional banger matches, guest stars, and the Eddie Kingston story going after the grand title.
Oh, I didn't know we were going into the realm of absurd comedy matches. I will say, if we see Invisible man vs Invisible stan on this series I will quietly riot like the Canadian I am because that match is a masterpiece of an entire building willing the absurd into the incredible.
I just want to pay my respects to Ken the box. Who tragically died during this match. And will be missed by his loved ones forever. Thank you for the memories Ken the Box you will be missed.
Fun translation tidbits for you: Mokujin Ken means Wooden Fist in Japanese. Either that, or Mokujin means "wooden man" and his name is Ken. We'll still go with Ken the Box, though.
I'm still curious as to what the plan was with the lighter. Was it supposed to make sparks? Were they trying to light him on fire? None of it feels like there was a plan if it actually caught. I've got questions Bryce.
Honestly can we just get a video of Sullivan blindly reacting to and rating every Chikara-original gimmick and look
I’d love to see his reaction to CP Munk.
Mos-Cow, the communist cow
NEEEEEEED
Dragon Dragon getting decapitated
Chuck Taylor’s grenade!

This is on par with Invisible Man VS Invisible Stan as the best comedy match ever conceived
Spoiler
Both reffed by Bryce Remsburg, nonetheless.
I was waiting for someone to bring this up
Invisible Man Vs Invisible Stan is actually compelling though it is like genuinely a good match though
I hope they'll watch it as well. If Sully didn't see it, he will have a great time. Though there's a difference between a good comedy match and a bad match.
I believe Sullivan will feel cleansed watching the Mecha Mummy Vs Minoru Suzuki match.
Next you'll tell me they have a rematch in a river.
Holy shit yes lmao
Sullivan's laugh will always sound like an asthmatic kid struggling to live 🤣🤣

This isn't the worst match ever. It's the most hilarious match ever.
This match has a 7.83 rating on cagematch...
I love this community
too low
Please.....please tell me you're telling the truth 😂
As it bloody well should. It sinks so low it goes PAST 0 and wraps back around to being a 10.

I never knew Mokujin from Tekken was a wrestler 😂
Just wait until you see Kuma in the ring....
He’s just copying King’s moveset.
First thing I thought lmao
Can't wait to see Heihachi Mishima become The Undertaker of parody wrestling
This series is much better now we're able to watch the matches along with you
Caludio with hair is just Aiden English.
Finally, someone else sees it as well!
And now no one else can unsee it...
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave
This was a whole different kind of treat after just watching Roderick Strong vs. Tyler Black at Glory by Honor IX lmao.
Holy hell the whiplash that must've been 😂😂
The surprise Garth Marenghi reference was a welcome surprise.
Rip Tempest nose 👃😅😮
Rip Tempest's big pink nose
Damn I kinda missed noiseless Tempest! 🤣

Ken the Box, literally: “I am the table”.

I need this show in my library. Silliness and even amazing graps
Ken the Box not knowing how to treat Bruce the Spruce now that it legally and physically changed its status to Bruce "I-Am" the Table
I miss these when they were weekly but glad you are back at it
Ken the Box and many other "monsters" have been regulars in Saitama Pro Wrestling in Janan. They almost always faced the owner/star of SPWC Survival Tobita.
And Ken always beat Tobita. Here he looses to Mecha Mummy. Travesty.

I was at the relaunch when Ashley debuted! I wonder what that guy is up to these days.

As a massive Tekken fan I'm disappointed that I never knew Mokujin wrestled.

I'm just happy that we cam watch the matches with them without having to open a second tab.
@@elmerinase5734 I agree, makes me wonder if they're just gonna do matches they can get away with showing on screen this whole second season.

Having gone to several Chikara shows back when they were in business, this is the most Chikara match they ever booked.
Chikara was a weird promotion wasn't it??
It was very smart with the booking too

Just wait until they see that Chikara match where Oleg The Usurper murders Dragon Dragon in the ring, decapitating him.....
Too soon man, too soon.
