Just have a clear rule. Matchfixers banned for 2 years. Football does it too. If you keep overpondering it, you can keep and keep punishing endlessly, but I feel like, when you did your time and you have gone through your (serious) punishment, then you're done with the punishment and you can come back.
The big esports tournaments can actually force valve to unban IBP when all of the companies unban them. Basically, Valve has no tournament they can sponsor and call a major because they don't agree with the tournament organizer's rules and therefore need to unban them.
i think its really important that people dont forgot what he did - what he did what really bad, a lot would argue matchfixing is worse than cheating. but i do think that lifetime bans for the players was/is excessive. i believe that a 3 year punishment for the players is plenty enough. you have to remember valve has to find a way to make a big impact on the community and the players to prevent them from doing this again. giving the players lifetime bans has drastically impacted the community, and i seriously doubt that another top team would dare matchfix after what happened. valve, pls unban

There should be an organisation that sets guidelines for eSports, set common rules for the majority of the whole upcoming sport can follow. For example: Depends on the tier and the bet of the matchfixing, any player will receive a minimum 2 year ban from ALL official tournament if caught, and if it is agreed upon, the player may receive a maximum plenary of a lifetime ban from all official eSport competitions.
