Down A Mine

A journey underground at one of South Africa's oldest gold mines in the Barberton area, Mpumalanga Province.
Filmed using a GoPro, the video shows the numerous and typical stages involved in the journey to the rock face on the underground mining level, final depth from surface approx 2 Km !

Grade ....line

Its the grade line. This line is accompanied by survey pegs which help with direction and elevation. This is to help with drainage so water flows naturally to the lowest point.

everything they're installing is just to make them feel safer..... anyone who works underground knows when the rock fails it's game over,if you were lucky some dribble off the hanging wall might give you a second or two head start
