The clean tones are pure beauty wow
Got one of these about 4 months ago, first headless I've owned. God it's so much fun to play. Definitely feels like a toy, weighs nothing and is so small. Absolutely love it.
This is one of the few music channels I still follow. Thank you for inspiring us and continuously making good content instead of making content to please the algorithm! Loved your Neural DSP JP video btw mate!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the content
@@KeyanHoushmandLive You're more than welcome mate! All the best!! :)
Never tired of My Curse riff. That clean will get me everytime
The way to get around that tuning issue is to tune to the picked note, adjust roughly where it should be in tune, and then just rinse and repeat. It does take a bit longer, but the benefits of a headless out weigh the tuning aspect. After a bit, it's just a change in routine compared to a normal guitar
Please never change your content man. Simple, instructive and straight to the point! That guitar looks beautiful!
Great to hear My Curse as the demo rif for the sound options! (Basically my go-to riff for checking clean tones haha)
KSE, oooooh, so many good memories from that time. Thanks for the review!
Sounds great! I have never owned or played a headless yet!
Same! Me neither!
dat KSE clean
I had been super curious about headless guitars for some time but never had a chance to play one (let alone afford one). My curiosity got the best of me and I got this exact model as a christmas present to myself. I do NOT at all regret it - it is an absolutely incredible guitar and I am in love. Anyone who is on the fence I would recommend.
Something not mentioned in the video that I think is worth mentioning - These feel very different to any other guitar. To me this is a big plus. For example my strat inspires me to play old rock and blues, whereas my ibanez QX headless inspires me to try out new styles that I would never have considered like double tapping. And the ergonomic design of these really accommodates that style beautifully.
Not only is this some solid gear review but your playing and compositions are so good. You gotta release 'em.
the clean section already is a song and it isn't his! i can't remember the band but it isn't him bro
Great video man. Definitely considering getting a headless for my travelling before uni. Just seems an easier way to keep a guitar with me while traveling.
Love the fact you didn't edited out the part you made a small mistake.
Great review, fantastic playing.
Think I will try considering a headless guitar.
So sick, I got a Kiesel Osiris being built for me. First headless guitar for me, excited about! Nice video as always Keyan
I always love your compositions so much
Thanks dude!
By far the best review on RUclips 👏🏻
a tusq nut is like 10 bucks ... ill never understand why brands will put that on their "premium" models only lol
That's $10 for us. If you're a big company and buying thousands at a time that price drops drastically. But companies are cheap.
Yeah it doesn’t make any sense. My $700 Schecter has a GraphTech nut but my $1,100 Ibanez has a plastic nut like why.
@@DoNotLookDown yeah they need a reason to sell the same Guitar for twice the price ^^
and slam "Premium" on it
Yeah I just ordered a harley benton les paul for 250 euros and it even has a graph tech tusq nut lol
I agree completely.
Great review, thank you!
I have had a Q54 for a year and a half and it immediately became my most played guitar. I play everything on it and never get fatigued.
Being ambidextrous, string changing and tuning, for me, are as quick operations as those on self-locking tuners.
And I leave the "holy monsters" Fender and Gibson to the nostalgics. 🤣
and you played killswitch engage. This guitar and you are wicked man. Keep it up!
Loving the tones in this video. You made want to buy this guitar. Great work!
Really good review.
I saw the guitar in the online shop, but the photos weren't really expressing how nice it looks. I might go and have a look at it in a shop now.
Great review. Thank you. I'm looking at buying the 7 string.
I dont know why but I absolutely loved your demo song
always do great videos but I don't watch you for that, I watch you because of your riffs
You are a beast man. Keep up the good work
love the neck on mine. I got one yesterday Q52 though. it's so light it feels like the bag is empty.
Im happy to buy the normal fret version because its neck is chunkier so its sound is also beefier , kinda better for anything else but metal
Got one. Love it.
Love the tone
Love the demo song💙😍
I hope to get one of these. I don't hate the typical brands of guitar whatsoever and I think Fender- Gibson- Ibanez- are all great guitars.
I'm just looking to try something knew. I felt like we've been stuck with the obsession of vintage gear and vintage tone that guitar needs a need direction.
There is looooooovvveeeee!!!!!
My curse ❤️
I played a strandberg and then one of these immediatly after and I have to say the build quality was horrible on the Ibanez . It could have been just that build, but it just felt cheaply constructed overall. The strandberg is still way better as far as headless guitars in my opinion, and I love Ibanez so it hurts to say it lol.
I haven't played either so take what I say with a major grain of salt, but the Strandberg's are pretty significantly more expensive than the Ibanez Quest models as far as I'm aware, and since you played the Quest immediately after a higher price/higher end guitar your perception of the build quality might be skewed? Like I said I haven't played either, but I've loved any Ibanez I've ever played and it's hard for me to believe that the build quality on one of their guitars would be "horrible" (except maybe a Gio. Those aren't great)
Strandberg build quality is also crap. It is a common shitshow wnen a string rips its holder on top from the wood, and you pay ridiculous money and wait like 3 month for new component because strandberg is against the right of repair
@@heavenparasolandmishakonig my nx came flawless in 4 days. It's litteraly the best guitar I've ever owned in 20+ years.
Strandberg even set mine up for free and discounted my shipping after I ruined my trem system. (First trem) and gave a bag of replacement part for the bridge. Which was free
I actually only like headless 7 and 8 strings. 6 string headless seems so pointless. An 8 string guitar looks pretty silly with that big head and 8 full size tuners. Headless is a big improvement there. Especially as a cure for neck dive. 7s are on the edge for me. I lean towards it looking okay.
Ugh I wish I could get one of these. Headless/fanned fret guitars are so expensive
NK Guitars..
@@SteveAyanami second that. I wanna add: make sure you get a 2021/2022 version. The bad thing is the 1-2 month shipping.
I ordered my first legator headless guitar like 6 months ago, and when I took it out of the box I was genuinely worried I got scammed with how small and light it was. It really does feel like a toy but it plays so well and sounds great
I absolutely LOVE my Strandberg Boden. The light weight is a life saver during those 4 hour nights on stage. Whoever hasn’t played headless is missing out. Glad to see Ibanez in the game now but give me a tremolo and multi scale fretboard.
Your videos are very good.
I changed the neck pup. It was too dark sounding
What’s the song at. 2:18 I can’t get it out of my head now 😬
Well I just figured out I’ve been playing My curse wrong for a good 10 years
Strandberg is the way to go. 6 month interest free at sweetwater. 600 down and 350ish a month. I cannot stop buying them. 7 and 8 strung up next
How do you play it if set in a classical position? The tuners would be on your leg.
Actually the QX models like the one he is playing is PERFECT for classical position which is what I play it in. The tuners are too inward into the body for them to touch your leg unless you have really thin legs and play classical but really low down below the chest. The part of the wood below the tone knob is what usually rests on your leg.
Never played one, probably never will, so I'm not arguing the ergonomics, but I absolutely hate how headless guitars look.
I own an Ormsby Goliath 7 and it is the best decision I've ever made. If you can't go for a Strandberg (price-wise), definitely worth checking out Ormsby. Both of these stand above Ibanes imo.
Heads up might be tough to get an Ormsby because they do limited 'runs' but if you can get one, happy days.
Really weird to act like headless guitars could be a 'gimmick' or not a real guitar. They've been around forever. Alan Holdsworth played them for years and years, that says it all right there.
Love headless guitars, I am recently proud owner of a Strandberg Classic 6. I really love the clean playing. Would you provide tabs for it to
Play along?
How s the neck sensitivity regarding to vibrato using neck bending obviously?
love the polyphia influences in the first demo, good vid bro!
Actually the wooden body is surprisingly resonant. It definitely helps with the tone. I have the QX52 in black. Amazing guitar. The slanted frets take like a few minutes getting used to when you play mostly blind on a regular fretboard.
finally someone played in Metal!!
thanks for your review!!
now this guitar ady on my wishlist
Hi there..........Do you like the 2 humbucker version better than the 2 single coils and one humbucker version........Thanks.
Am I the only one who wants to get a headless guitar, but is too afraid that I'll like them too much, and that I will want to sell all my other guitars?
You probably would… I haven’t played my Strat or tele more than maybe 4 times since I bought a Strandberg 3 years ago. It’s literally 100% the best guitar I’ve played, by a mile. Weight, sound, looks, and most importantly PLAYABILITY, is over and above. They are expensive but in my opinion the price was well worth it. I’ve gotten my moneys worth
I'm with @ Zachary Glisson...I bought a .strandberg and I quit playing my other guitars and after awhile I sold them. I had a decent collection of American Fenders, a PRS S2, an LTD Flying V, sold them all. I was thinking of buying another .strandberg but honestly the one I got is so versatile I don't think I need too. Well maybe the 8 string too then thats all...and maybe that Jazz version and the one that looks like a Tele...then I'm done.
IF Ibanez wants to sell guitars and not just headless guitars they need a new crew in charge of colors and styling. The missing head puts some off but that is gonna be like that if you want headless. Regardless that color and finish are Blaaaa.
Man the top on this guitar is nice, but I really don't like headless guitars! For me is way too weird!
@4:00 that tone sounds fine the fuck you mean?
what other guitars can achieve the tone at 2:57 but are also good for jazz and rock?
I have a few headless guitars, the toy feeling goes away once I get to the 8 string lol.
would you recommend this guitar over an az?
Bruh playing killswitch engage lol beautiful
please review NK guitar from Aliexpress
Does it have full-size pots ?
Guys can somebody explain to me- can I change tuning easily on a headless guitar? Or its like on freaking Floyd Rose?
The clean part is from August burns red ? It reminds me something but I can't find.
The clean part is My Curse by Killswitch Engage, dude. Come on, man. You gotta recognize that song. :D
@@ThorsShadow Thank you ! I'm going to revise my classics. ;)
Great video. One thing that jumped out to me is the toggle switch being in between the volume/tone knobs, which would make flipping it while playing more difficult. I don't like that design choice and it'd be enough to keep me from buying that particular guitar.
whats the song played at 4:40 I'm pretty sure I've heard it somewhere I can't remember help
My Curse by Killswitch Engage.
playing the curse is cheating. that will sound gorgeous on anything
Could you just tune it left handed style?
yes but like its a little awkward ngl
Is that a 7 string?
Is it neck heavy? 🤓
While I can admire the environmentally friendly aspect of headless guitars, being as they don’t require as much material(s) as well as their portability, I just can’t get over the awkward aesthetics of the thing. Maybe it’s something that grows on you over time, perhaps? There clearly doesn’t seem to be any hindrance in tone or even how it turns out in a mix. Which is arguably what matters, right? I could definitely see the usefulness of traveling with it, whether you’re a touring or a casual musician. I just don’t see it winning any beauty contests is all.
When I got a berg my playing went from meh to whoa. Not really sure why
I think the environmental aspects play 0% into the appeal of headless guitars. Its a weight thing for me. I cannot play heavy guitars. A guitar could be the best thing ever but if it's heavy I'm not buying. Headless guitars also make it so that I can't accidentally knock over a water bottle with a headstock while turning in my chair and completely ruin my brand new laptop. Just as an example. Not like that happened to me of course.
@@DoNotLookDown interesting. I personally prefer light weight guitars with thin profile necks, which actually fits the bill for the headless Ibanez featured in the video. And I’m not opposed to buying one in the future, but I think the feel and playability would have to surpass my opinion on the appearance of the thing.
Oh, and sorry about your laptop, man- I mean.. Your hypothetical laptop..👀
@@jessewest2109 don’t lie bro.. you bought the Guitar Mastery Method course, didn’t you!?
What is the song please? 02:57
My Curse - Killswitch Engage
"It feels like a toy"
I'll be glad when the world realizes that "light-weight" isn't synonymous with "poor quality", and that lighter is almost always better, when discussing a product you hold in your hand(s). Mathmatically speaking, the more weight you carry / lift, the more calories and energy you burn. That's that much less energy you have for other things in your day, and even more food you have to buy to replace the calories burned. It's a passive, but valid expense that you pay for, throughout the lifetime of the product.
Unfortunately, most of us let the baby boomers convince us that "More weight ALWAYS = Better Quality". Forgeting that their fellow Millennials founded the "We'll make whatever you want, no matter how stupid or illogical" method of doing business. So, even if you know better, you're still stuck with overweight garbage. Because the masses get what they desire, no matter how braindead that desire is.
The guitar has got the tummy cut. The tummy-tuck is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin after a woman has given birth...slightly different to a tummy cut
Ichika nito signature series.?
I definitely do not like the look of headless guitars. I just don't get it lol. Hey, they're not for me and that's ok
Are headless guitars a gimmick? Not according to Allan Holdsworth!
THIS IS MY CURSE
Another Ibanez, another goofy finish. Would definitely be better without the pickguard.
Not a strandberg,
