RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

I have been listening to this song for 20 years and I still get chills
This song has brought me to tears before.
@@jakecameron2976 same. I can only hope they bring it back for another tour. It would be perfect after what everyone has been through in the past year.
I remember when this song first hit the local rock stations airwaves. It totally destroyed anything else they were playing. It was like you were listening to a polka play list and suddenly someone kicks on some Led Zeppelin. Nothing could touch it nothing could compare to it.
Chills and tears for me every time. So moving!
Still makes me cry so often brother. And I’m a stable guy lol.
One of the best songs ever made
I concur
1000% agree
Amen, brotha
Getting into Tool late means you've avoided the agony of waiting 10 years or more for their latest album.
Listening cold like this is a good idea for Lateralus, IMO.
Now Google Lateralus and the Fibonacci Sequence. It'll blow your mind...
Big agree. I don't like when reactors obsess over the fibonacci sequence on their first listen. They're missing out on the raw experience of just listening for the first time, like all the OG fans had before anyone noticed any of the easter eggs. Very nice to see these guys not even aware of it.
Arguably the greatest Tool song ever written
Arguably the greatest song ever written. .
I tried to avoid giving you a suggestion but I can't help it -- As others have said, the 2 part song Parabol/Parabola is a must-listen. It's a masterpiece! I think you'll both have fun with it :)
Danny Carey. Drum cam. Pnuema.
I wish I could like this again.
Definitely would recommend. I think I've seen every reviewers reaction to it because the he is so amazing.
Do it! Do it!
We hear you, guys! We promise to do it!! My dad actually called me specifically to tell me that it popped up for him after watching our reaction and he’s seen it 5 times since then! He CANNOT WAIT for us to react to it either. He’s officially a Tool fan and asked if you were recruiting! Haha. Thanks for all your support! ❤️- Lex
Sounds like the Tool Army has 3 new members, take your time and enjoy!!! Very spiritual and deep stuff ahead, but this was an awesome reaction! Cheers
Lol awesome tell your dad welcome and to spiral out!
U should have had the lyrics and it takes it to another level ... u want to go on another beautiful journey ... do disposition, reflection and triad aka the holy trinity
My suggestion for the ultimate "meditative-inducing-state creation" would be the trio of songs that must be listened to together: Disposition, Reflection, and Triad. Other than that I'd recommend Tempest from their latest album.
listen to the man
I once meditated to the triad.....without ANY drugs....and still had an out of body experience. I think i talked to an alien.
They are a "TOOL" for you to use, however you see fit. 😉
Since they're discography is not very large, I would suggest you start with tracks from the beginning of their career and work your way towards the end. The progression of the band over time is also something to behold.
I'd start with Opiate. In Sweat, the 1st song, is a hint of everything they've grown to become in one song.
You should definitely check out "the humbling river" by puscifer (Maynard James Keenan the singer for Tools other band) beautiful song
Another great T❤️❤️L reaction!
You two will be blown away with Parabol & Parabola then Wings for Marie Part 1 & 10,000 days then Lost Keys & Rosetta Stoned. These songs are two songs each but listen to them one right after the other
Would like to see you experience Pushit from the Aenima album and then follow it with Pushit Live from Salival. They completely remade an already awesome song. (And it's LIVE).
The best song ever written, it is about the process of creation by the artist
I agree. This song personifies my love for music.
Your interpretation...
Interesting -- This is what's so great about Tool's and MJK songwriting. I always thought it was about following one's intuition but, come to think of it, it does make perfect sense. I can see it being about the creative process.
@@rleandro315 thank you
@@avigayegos1496 Perfectly said, so simply. Artist / architect / God / creator / imagination... call it what you will, but Tool captured it here like very few have ever done.
This track to me carries the same weight as Dogs by Floyd and overture by Rush...masterpiece from masters
The older I get, the stronger my affinity with Tool.
Reactor Drew Fortune called it “Euphoric Metal”.
Great Call!!
To me a lot of their music taps into the tribal animal in me. Music and rhythm is my most organic way of feeling good. Not a bad description.
There is a video by the account Polyphonic called “how tool used math to create Lateralus” that is 100% worth a watch, and the tool army will watch your reaction 😂
It is actually insane how the band incorporated the Fibonacci sequence into Lateralus! One of the most complex songs ever made and, in my personal opinion, maybe the best song ever.
Here’s the link ruclips.net/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/видео.html
@@cranboogie coming in clutch 😎🤟🏻
Exactly, just an amazing song
Rosetta Stoned is a must.
Please do not do Rosetta Stoned without Lost Keys!!!
@@RosettaStoned462 don't forget lipan conjuring
@@victor_. hiyeeee....I don't think lipan conjuring necessarily goes hand in hand with Rosetta Stoned. But lost keys 💯 does
Honestly, you two should STRONGLY consider doing their complete discography in order and digging a little deeper into the understanding of some of Maynard’s lyrics. The Tool Army will be with you every step of the way! 👍👍
Totally agree! It takes the music to a depth rarely, if ever seen. The back story to the lyrics is incredible, inspiring
Entire Aenima album is pure meditative bliss
If u want something live, check out Sober live at Reading. Not many live performances other than cellphone footage that TOOL don't even allow in their shows.
Best song in the history of music. As simple as that
I think Close To The Edge is the greatest song, but this is a close second!
Two of my favorite lines are in this song. " To swing on the spiral of our divinity, and still be a human". And "Following our will and wind, we may just go where no one's been".
Yes, they are the most powerful lines in the song. The build up and the conclusion ^^
Need to do the Holy Trinity, it's long but well worth it.
Ticks & leeches next! Please!!! This is one of the most aggressiv songs they’ve done!
It’s always the same songs people reacting to...
And once you start to dive into the lyrical portion of the song you will be left in a meditative state long after each finishes. This is the best band ever, they are all masters of their trade and there are many great bands but to me this is the best. I’ve been with them since 1993, a difficult year for me and they helped me through somewhat. My only complain about them is after nearly 30 years they have such a small discography.
Quality not quantity!
@@rayyman6934 exactly and that’s why they’re still my favorite that would be nice if they had a couple more albums. It is what it is.
Listen to Push It, the studio version then the live Salival version. They redid their own song and both are some of their best work
Wait till you get in to the meaning behind the song you are about to get alot of comments great job
Awesome reaction!! Do more Tool!!! New subscriber here. Thanks! People like you enjoying first time listens to Tool and picking up on all of the things I love about Tool is just... Awesome! Do More Tool!!!
If Pink Floyd had a baby it would be Tool.
Complete with adolescent rebellion
I think Porcupine Tree is closer to Pink Floyd than Tool. If King Crimson had a baby it would be Tool.
If pink floyd, rush and black sabbath had a live child it would be Tool
I see all of the influences, noted here, but to me Tool is completely unique. They are the aural equivalent of slowly pulsing, blue strobe light.
On second thought they vary from slow to fast pulse, unpredictably.
If you love progressive / metal bands with great musicianship, you should listen to Haken or The pineapple thief (with Gavin "Porcupine Tree" Harrison as a drummer). For a more meditative prog metal / rock band, check Riverside and / or Lunatic Soul, their polish singer Mariusz Duda is amazing ;)
Great suggestions! I listen to all of those. Might add Soen to it as well.
TOOL ARMY checking in.
I’ve been listening to these songs for 20 years and I still hear and feel new things with every listen.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I suggest Pushit (Salival) Live version.
"this music would be good in 70's...." This music WAS born in 70's: Genesis, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Yes, King Crimson and more were all kings of progressive back in 70's.
We've got a "wealth problem": Every day and age has got more good music than the years before. But nowadays we all got access to the lot if it.... Trick is to focus on what's worth while. This is certainly amongst that!
Great job! Tool songs take you on a journey. The Grudge, Jambi, Right in Two, Vicarious. Spiral out to every song.
In all honesty I think you'll love Push It live, Salival version an absolute masterpiece
you guys are right...Tool's music puts you in a meditative state...it's not a 'bang your head' all the time kind of music...... best of both worlds I guess....
I'll always love watching new tool fans try to bob their head along with the music the first time they hear a song;]
A masterpiece!!!!
Maynard James Keenan on Vocals
Adam Jones on Guitar
Justin Gunner Chancellor on Bass
And the drum legend Danny Carry on his monster drum kit.
For those who don’t know who the members are.
check out some a perfect circle albums as well! some incredible stuff and the lead singer of Tool (Maynard James Keenan) is also the lead singer for A perfect circle and Puscifer
Check out Danny Carey's live drum cam of Pneuma, it will blow your mind!! No joke, it's mesmerizing.
Also, I think Invincible and Culling Voices from the Fear Inoculum album are some of the better tracks...a reaction to those would be great as well...you'll hear the maturity of the band.
If you haven't yet, please listen to Vicarious
I'm confused every time anyone doesn't react this way when discovering/listening to tool......
EVERY..... TIME
I think we have two new recruits. Boot camp is starting.
Thanks for the shout out 🧡
The next 3 songs on this album are favorites of mine as well. They are called The Holy Trinity of Tool. Disposition, Reflection and Triad.
^prepare for meditation on the best level possible^
There is a sense of falling into a trance in many TOOL songs. This one takes you in through the Fibionacci circadium and lets you SPIRAL OUT.
Wait ‘til you follow lyrics…omg.
fibonacci sequence, the entire song, what do you get from adding all the numbers, a SPIRAL! Masterful consruction of the syllables in the lyrics being a fibonacci sequence,, the musical timing, all of it!
listen to 7empest, it's their shortest song
Tool reaction with Pink Floyd poster in back... 💯 good on ya!
Right back atcha with your picture! Thanks for joining us! :) - Lex
Epic aye.... Plenty more were that's from!... Enjoy the journey guys.
“This is, the definition of cool🙃” love that
You guys really need to watch Danny Carey's live Drum cam version of Tool's "Pneuma" Great song, and watching him on a professional drum cam is amazing.
My friends..... You REALLY need to react to "Pneuma" by TOOL (drum cam) with the MASTER DANNY CAREY..... 🙏🙏🙏🙏
It will blow your MIND...... (seeing "Mr. OCTOPUSS" playing........ It's something out of this world.......... PLEASE,..... DO THAT..... YOU WILL APPRECIATE! 😉 😉 🤣
This song has been getting better and better with each listen for the last 20 years.
Listen to parabol/parabola from the same album, will blow your mind 🎶🎵🤘🤘
The whole album is great
TOOL is an ALBUM ORIENTED BAND. You should listen to Track one of their first EP until you get to the last track of their last album the way GOD and MAYNARD intended. ✌🤯
Por favor reaccionen al DVD "UNIVERSAL" de Anathema. Gracias desde Argentina
You have to check out this video that explains how the songs connection to Te Fibonacci Sequence, ruclips.net/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/видео.html . Also, if you love Zeppelin, you should do a reaction to Tool's cover of "No Quarter"
TOOL is their own genre
Neil Peart-“The Professor” Danny Carey-“The Octopus “
Great reactions!! Check Out Salival Pushit live. All their music really
This song live is quite an experience. The endings of this song and 46&2 seen live will friggin blow your head off. 🤯
Nick show Lex vermicular asphyxiation by blotted science!!
Danny’s dream wasn’t to be “in TOOL”,....Danny IS “TOOL”, as much as Maynard, Adam, and Justin...
Tool is not a metal band .. .....They are a "thinking" band. Time signature is everything. Please react to them more. I'm disappointed
The song is supposed to be about hardcore tripping on drugs. The song itself is overwhelming at times and calming at others. Its a spiral into your inner self
It's talking about the universe. As below so above....You know. God stuff.
The best band out there. Period.
This song is based off of The Fibonacci sequence... This is one of the more mathematical songs ever written. And WE CANNOT compare Danny Carey to Neil Peart. They are two monsters from different sides of the spectrum. Danny is unlike any drummer.
They are different, Euphoric Metal is the best way to describe them.
Hi babe!!
Huge tool fan, lost my mind in Undertow and haven't found it since. Do yourself a favor. Thank me later....
A Perfect Circle
Orestes
Tool is their own musical genre.
I think you might enjoy Alice in Chains, arguably the best grunge era seattle band (that wasnt really grunge), their sophomore album Dirt is highly regarded. Check out Would, Them Bones, Rain When I Die
Or just start at track 1.
Also, love hate love live at the moore. ruclips.net/video/l9jX1KAKp78/видео.html
I saw you guys dont like to do live first but in this case I would vehemently argue this is the best version. Voice coaches react to this version, it's quite a performance.
Cheers!
There’s an urban Legend that back in the day there was one off musical orgy. An orgy of music rock royalty. In a dark candle lit room for musical greats hidden to all but the gods of rock....There lay pink Floyd, led zeppelin, the doors and black sabbath....the result of that tumultuous raunchy glorious night set in motion what was to become the legend that has become.......
Tool....
Cerebral.....and that's an understatement, read the lyrics just for yourself, and listen again.....meditative state with intention
Tool - Yantra (in sanskrit, machine or tool for Spiritual development). Machine which works with subtle energies. Sat Nam 🙏
I know this Piece for 20 Years, and the most of the time I listen to it as a Drummer (not very good Drummer). I was confused but amazed. But now I start to hear it like a Classic-Music Piece, and then all make sence. ( Sorry for my limited English )
Tool has said in interviews, that they want you to use their music like you would a psychotherapy session. I believe that's where the name came from. That could also totally just be a reason that the band made up, because they like screwing with people. Either way, it fits the bill. 😄
This was a great reaction, looking forward to checking out much more!
I've loved this band for more than 30 years, show's my age, but watching this I realized the musicians were doing a spiral. I know. i'm lame. great video you two.
Killer charvel right there. Please tell me you re not playing it through line 6s
For sake of meditation you have to do Parabol/Porabola (both songs together) and then Wings for Marie/10000 days (also both songs together).
Am 24 y/o. My life changed one night on 3 tabs of some clean lsd and a Lateralus album.
Next Pushit from Salival¡¡ next step on tool journey cheers from Chile, pero ya se que hablan español así que saludos
Saludos cálidos, gracias por la sugerencia! :) - Lex
If you haven't yet, please react to parabol/parabola...you will not be disappointed. They need to be listened to together.
I love watching tool reactions and specifically (obviously) this song, but I always end up closing my eyes and vibing instead of watching the reaction lol :)
Time to move on to the next legendary track{s} "parabole" and "parabola" are two amazing songs and will put you in that same calm state of mind, play them back to back they are essentially the same song but you can tell where it was split into 2 different tracks. Also, if you want to see a legend in his natural habitat the, human octopus aka Danny Carey, has a drum can set up on a live show for the song "Pneuma" and it is mesmerizing, if you thought you appreciated how good he is now wait till you see him in action. What a legend!
I wish Justin their bass guitarist got more love. He is a master on the bass and by far my favorite how he can keep pace and drive the point on a lot of the tempo changes. By far he is the best bassist I know.
Is critique authorized? You’re both annoying in you’re intro. But, you get better throughout. Why would a person spend their time listening to you vice another?
I remember the times I'd stop by my mom's house and she'd ask me to take her car to the gas station. And sometimes there would be either Pink Floyd, Bob Segar and sometimes Bach or Beethovan in the CD player.
First time hearing "Lateralus"? I love all their albums, but this whole album is their magnum opus.. IMO
Hey guys ! you doing great stuff , keep it up . btw , i think you should mabyle talk a bit more about the lyrics because maynard is really a genius. Tool helped me alot through hard times , and kept my head up high thanks to them and maynard. i bet you already listend alot and read alot about them . Anyway love your vids !!
lmao the captions said, "Bobby jars on back" (Jarzombek).
You'll be hard pressed to find a bad TOOL track. I honestly don't think that one exists. ✌
Jambi, the Holy Trinity and then have a look at lost keys and Rosetta Stoned. I am also a sucker for 7empest and Pnuema of their latest.
React to PNEUMA live , focused on DANNY CAREY
