@josef mengele he's referring to youth. Feeling immortal. The opening line of the chorus is "we are young, wandering the face of the earth...learning what our dreams might be worth." It the immortal state of mind we all have when we're in the prime of life.

I think at least one (if not more) of Geddy Lee's bass guitars is also on display. His collection is vast. Really.

It was terrible to go through and from then on after his death I take everyday as a blessing as we can doing ok one moment and the your life can be shattered in a moment. I give to a cancer charity and also to a hospice where my dad lived the last couple of weeks. The staff there were incredible and made a huge difference not only to my dads life but they carried so much of the weight which was killing me at the time. They taught me how to grieve-a life skill which helped me more than words can ever say. Without them I would of collapsed just from the pain and anguish that I could not bare. I have been to a lot of Rush's concerts and like everyone used to say and I agree is the fact that three men could put out such powerful great music. Neil was a perfectionist and it showed his solo drum performances were a show in itself. I read his books very interesting intelligent man. Like a meteor hit....that's the impact Neil's passing and legacy is and has....I was honored to have seen Rush in 1975 on the Fly By Night tour...front row seats at a small theater in Fresno, Ca......absolutely incredible!...a few yrs later I saw one of Neil's heroes... the late great Buddy Rich at a even smaller theater in my hometown... ..EPIC and BIBLICAL is the only verbiage I can describe for both shows....

This is what long time friend Of Neil Peart's Kiss Drummer Peter Criss had to say on the loss of his long time friend.
Original KISS drummer Peter Criss has paid tribute to RUSH's Neil Peart, who passed away on Tuesday (January 7) in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Criss took to his web site to write: "It is so devastating to say these words... I am so deeply saddened by the death of one of my brother drummers and dear friend. Neil was a hero to all of us drummers. He was a great man and a great musician. My heart goes out to Alex and Geddy for their loss and all the family, friends, and fans . May he rest in peace and be met by the lord in heaven. God Bless, Peter Criss"
Several years ago, Criss said the first time he heard Neil's drumming was when RUSH opened for KISS in the 1970s. "Their [original] drummer just left," Peter said. "It was [Neil's] first night, I believe. He was amazing - so inventive."
Peter added: "I love to watch Neil play. He is also a great songwriter. We just think he's one f'in great drummer!!!
"If you really want to see what the drums are about... just go see Neil play.

I wasn't aware of Neil's death until I watched this video today. He was a fine musician, top player, and a force of nature. What strength of spirit to walk through such tragedy. I can't imagine anything more devastating than the loss of one's child.
When I watch drummers, I look to see whether they're deriving their power and dynamics from their wrist motion rather than flailing their arms all about. The economy of unnecessary motion enables them to be much faster, more accurate and consistent, and enables them to utilize crescendo stroking and give a very dynamic performance. That and four way independence places him in an exclusive group of master musicians.
I enjoyed the video, and I am saddened by the news. RIP Neil.

Rest In Peace, Neil Peart one of the most unsung part of all of the band Rush is they were real people and kind people. At a meet and greet Neil spent 10 minutes with my son talking drum shop. And when he did this you could still see the passion in his eyes about music, He wasn't a jaded man in any sense at all. And as a bass player myself Geddy came over and gave us his take on it all. so there my young son was between Neil and Geddy and they gave him a master class in rock and roll and that day my son became the biggest Rush fan in this house and that's saying something

Brilliant analysis of one of the most important percussionists in all music history. A drummer's drummer; the consummate professional and lyrics that actually saved lives, mine included. There is no question that he turned a good band into a legendary band that will be listened to for 100s of years. A humble and gentle soul; this is a great loss. I can't express how much Neil Peart means to me. I have no words that can convey how much he means to millions of fans all over the world. I saw Rush more than 10 times, and they never failed to entertain and provide unique musical experiences. With Rush it was never about the fame, sex, drugs, but it was definitely about the music itself. Few have ever achieved this level of artistry on any instrument; Mozart comes to mind. A prodigy. Being a HUGE RUSH fan since 2112 back in the 70's, I was sad to hear of Mr Peart's death. He was simply one of the greatest drummers to pick up a pair of sticks!!! My wife and I went to see them way back in Feb. of 1990, my wife was pregnant with our daughter and we kid her that that was her first RUSH show... But not her last ;-) She and I went to see them 5 times after Mr Peart returned. She would sing right along with them and knew every single word of every single song!!! Had several folks congratulate me on my parenting skill as they were amazed at her RUSH song knowledge!!! We saw them on their last tour and brought my son as well, so glad we did!!! Mr Peart was not up to his usual standards (he was getting old after all and that is a VERY intense solo he performs) but we had an outstanding time!!!
