Hey, everyone! I need to highlight a mistake I made in this video. When females ask a questions in Thai, it should be 'คะ" not 'ค่ะ". The intonation should be rising not falling. It's similar to English when asking a question the intonation rises at the end of the sentence.
Perth I wanna learn the thai alphabet because I don't get it yet, it's kinda difficult, so I see this channel and your explanation is so good. Can you please do a thai alphabet video?? ☹️☹️

This is really helpful for me.. P'Perth Because I'm still learning basic Thai language.. I'm from Philippines.. I found it really easy to understand... you're the best teacher ... thank you🤟
I know how to speak basic Thai cause I did a self study of it. It's useful, I also used it when I was in Thailand. Thai people are really friendly. It's funny that they think of me as a Thai person cause I sound like a native one. My field is Education and I can see the P'Perth can be a great Teacher. Keep doing great P'Perth.

i really appreciate how Perth speaks japanese, thai and english during his videos. as a aussie student learning japanese for the past 4 years it really helps to listen to fluent speakers like Perth. and the past month i have decided i want to start learning thai so i’m learning from Perth, which is amazing ahahah. These lessons are actually so helpful with learning the intonation! Also the arai/alai thing has been bugging me for ages so thank you for clearing that one up! 🙏🏻
I personally think... the key to it is not to pronounce anything too clearly. As Thais are not quite good at a lot of alphabets. It's not just the R. Things like.. S, Z, F, etc. Some might end up silent letters. E.g. The word "Bright" When they pronounce it, it'll sound something like Bigh

After waking up to your video (a nice way to wake up, by the way) and feeding Miss Hissy, Pom was luxuriating in a hit shower, and suddenly found myself thinking about your correction of "Roman letters" to "Roman numbers." Reaching back, Pom realized that the Roman numbers for your age would be "XXVI". Pom am LXVIII. The numbers used in English are actually Arabic numerals. Yes, there is! Think of it this way... ผม is "I" in english used by female speakers, and ฉัน is also "I" in english used by female speakers, but ฉัน is not a 100% used by females, males can also use them. It is like CHAN(used by females 80%) (can be used by males, 20%) POM ( used by males 100%) (females cannot use this) that is why when you listen to thai songs, male singers can use CHAN instead of POM. i hope this is helpful 💖
Yes that's true. I think it's the pronoun "chan". Because if you'd like to make it as in for girls only, add "di" so it becomes "di chun" which can only be used by girls. I'm not that sure tho because I just started self-learning Thai last week HAHA
In fact, a male person can use ฉัน, but this occurs usually when he's trying to sound softer (for example, when he's talking to a woman he's flirting with, or with her girlfriend, among other cases). Hope it helps! P.S.: ฉัน is a little less formal and abbreviate form of คิฉัน (dìchán).
With HelloTalk, the third option to speak with people is sending audio messages. I don't always have 30 minutes to an hour to have voice conversations but I do have time to send audio messages back and forth throughout the day. That option has been invaluable. And the people I talk with seem to like it also. If I'm speaking with someone who is just learning English, I'll type the message first and then speak it. And they do the same in their language if I don't understand what they're speaking.

but there is certain part where a guy address "me" as "chun" or "chan" ? anyway, great content nong perth krab. su su na!!
Yes, there is! Think of it this way...
ผม is "I" in english used by female speakers, and ฉัน is also "I" in english used by female speakers, but ฉัน is not a 100% used by females, males can also use them. It is like
CHAN(used by females 80%) (can be used by males, 20%)
POM ( used by males 100%) (females cannot use this)
that is why when you listen to thai songs, male singers can use CHAN instead of POM.
i hope this is helpful 💖
Yes that's true. I think it's the pronoun "chan". Because if you'd like to make it as in for girls only, add "di" so it becomes "di chun" which can only be used by girls. I'm not that sure tho because I just started self-learning Thai last week HAHA
Another video said "chun" could be used when he wants to express himself in a nice or soft way. Maybe this info helps.
