Thanks ... you are the first person i have seen that has covered funding, that its every 8 hours and what that cost is... finally good to know since im holding a long position
Am I missing something here. With positive rates you go short on the futures market and long on spot. With negative rates you’d go long on the futures market but you can’t go short on the spot market. So how do you profit from negative funding rates? Cheers :)
Basis trading arbitrage is not very lucrative...looking at a 1-5% ROI (at best) and because you're buying on spot no leverage opportunity. Further, if you're in fixed futures you need to hold the trade until prices converge, essentially locking away your capital. Not to say a bot looking for the high margin (4-5%) might not be worthwhile, but not where the big $$ is.
Yo, I’m doing the same thing, keen to chat? Been back testing for a few weeks now, it’s pretty good. Getting the funding fee TP SL targets and how many minutes after the trade remains open to hit price is the key combination
Lol I’m only starting to learn how to code 😂, I know I’m a random dude on RUclips and ye owe me nada. But I’d love to get to know how u guys did it and how it’s going.
So i'm gonna tell you what i did understand and please correct me if i'm wrong, this funding rate is like z manipulation before the price rise or fall, and it happen 3 time in a day (every 8 hours) right !? It remember me something i heard before and i didn't understand, a concept that can help, right !? I would like if you explain more about the funding rate
Thanks Bennett! Great content as always. Just wondering how much weight you put on Bitcoin funding ( .0464 currently and Binance futures long short ratio a 1.88 (65% long 35 short) as a factor for the market makers to cause pain and liquidate some longs before moving the price higher? Are these figures similar to previous bull markets can the price keep rising when funding gets up to .1 or higher or do market makers generally cool it off before going higher? What is extreme for Bitcoin Bull runs? Cheers Dan
Hi, Can I trade a funded binance spot account? How can I get funders that can give me funds to trade Binance spots??? I have a strategy that makes profits every month on Binance spots
Hey what is not clear... I just tried exiting my BTC the minute before the 8 hour funding fee.. sure looks like i got charged for my previous 8 hours of holding it.. Can you plse make this clear.. This is all guessing... I guess i will be charged 1/2 the funding fee if im in the trade for 1/2 the 8 hour period. Also i like to buy and hold 20 different coins from now till september... making adjustments on the way... what is the best way of doing this. I was set up in M-Futures, this seems like a suidide mission
@@bitcointradingchallenge3861 hey can i ask something, if i do this funding profit with btc does that mean i will get more profit with same amount investment ?
That's exactly what I do sometimes, once my short trade is profitable I take profit and all the funding that came with it! I usually hold for awhile with lots of capital to protect myself but the funding can be amazing at times!

Happy traders lmao.
Nice stuff bro. Keep it up.
This is why I subscribed. You reveal secrets of the market that nobody else would show to others.
This kind of observation and your open sharing is super generous. Thank you!

Hi, why not just own the coin (spot) and short the perpetual future?

@@alexversion4234 Not too sure what you mean.
@@tthh62 i mean if i do futures with btc and wait for funding fee can i get more profit
@@tthh62making over 4% on a market neutral position is pretty good in my opinion. 4% of something is better than 100% of nothing
This is why I love to short lol.
So when funding is positive and if we short we will get that funding fee and when funding is negative and we long we get that funding fee?
Great explanation bro
I'm making a bot to milk this strategy on binance spot and futures. Better late to the party than to never show up right.

I like the wink you added ;)
And what if there is a really high negative funding? That would mean it goes down? In this case the coin is really pumped with bearish divergence
hi, how can I bring up funding rate column?

No, the funding transaction in perpetual markets only occurs at that 8 hour mark and not before.

could you not just short spot x1 and collect funding with no risk?
You gonna need to much money to make profit but you got it go ahead
Yes. This is all I do

if i have a position opened in Futures but have no funds spare available. how will the funding fee will be paid to the other side?
deleverage
hey can i used the same funding interval for bybit?
Couldn't you just short x1 to collect funding, and not care if it goes up after funding payout because you still get the profit anyways?
