The zebra looks pretty good with that golden hue. Sounds quite nice too. Great to see you back and I'm looking forward to all the upcoming reviews. You really set the standard for high quality, unbiased uke reviews.
Hi Barry, welcome back. A good review, a fair review I think. I'm glad you stress the value for money proposition in this price range. Most of your reviewers have preferences and opinions about many ukulele features, but there are many uses for a low-end uke: uncommitted beginners, casual players, even an attraction to unusual and catchy appearances. Yes, a little hair on this one, but it looks like fun and good value.
Welcome back, HNY to you and yours and here’s to 2025. Unsure on the wood looks, but, it suits the small soprano size. Like the Flight logo being darker, but not the asymmetrical squiggles. The mirrored shape at the end of the fretboard is a nice touch for the money. For the price to also have binding front and back is also a plus. One to consider for first timers for sure. Have a great week, have missed these through.
Great review as usual Baz, looks like your holiday has refreshed you. I am a fan of Flight ukes but don’t like the zebra wood at all. I agree it is a good buy for a beginner. I started with a Mahogany Brunswick with Martin strings which I love. Keep up the good work!
In all honesty, it would need to be a REALLY bad soprano uke, for me not at least TRY to like it. I think this one looks good, sounds ok and is a lot of instrument for the money, so what's not to like, if you're on a budget and/or a beginner? Good to have you back Baz, good review as usual. Stay safe mate and Happy New Year to you and the family. 👍
Okoume is a good choice for a soprano neck wood as it tends to be very light. I wish the Far Eastern factories would reset their CNC machines to carve a flatter and wider neck profile. And I guess there's nothing to be done about the string spacing at the nut and saddle until they use up the hundreds of thousands of nut and bridge units they already have. I would say this is a decent starter uke contracted by a respected brand.
I have a Flight pineapple soprano in sapele, I think. I like it. But, now I much prefer playing concert ukuleles. I can't find any low price Flight concerts (not to exceed $75.)
I'm thinking about buying the Flight Mu2 but I'm afraid that after I buy it you'll review it and say it's crap. 😅 But I think Flight hasn't disappointed so far. Cheers 💚💚💚
It's not nice it's horrible( personal opinion) think it's very ordinary you are so passionate about what you do absolutely brilliant review Happy New Year to you
Fair enough - and laminate is laminate - but then it's cheap - not sure what else it could be for the money. Good one for a beginner in my view though.

I thought that too - often it's very pale in the light bits and too dark on the stripes. This is much warmer looking
Good to see you again, Barry! Thanks for the review, and happy new year!
Happy new year!
Nice little soprano. Welcome back Baz!
Thanks Nickie!
Glad to see you back.Barry.
Thank you!
I turn Zebrawood pens on my lathe. That wood makes beautiful pens.
It is very pretty
Happy New Year Barry 🎉 great start to 2025.
Thank you!
Welcome back! You haven't gotten rusty about talking me into cheap ukes. This one sounds like a candidate for my Cheap Uke Gallery.
ha ha - sorry!
Happy New Year! Good start to the year👍👍
Thanks Mark!

Yep - agreed - nice to have another option for beginners outside the 'usual'

Nice one to start the new year Baz, not bad price tbf
Agreed Alan!
Zebrawood is under-rated. . . .Happy New Year, Barry!
I've come around to it - agree!
In all honesty, it would need to be a REALLY bad soprano uke, for me not at least TRY to like it.

The sustain was indeed very good for a soprano.
Agreed!

Think the travels are in that price point?

Decent brand - just buy through a uke specialist as they can need a bit of QC at the dealer end. Don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a Flight badly though
See you next week 🏝️💪
Next week? I'm back now!
@GotAUkulele I see you here this week and I'll see you again next week 🏝️💪

What makes it 'horrible'?
It's also about seventy quid...
I'm not keen on the zebra wood did say personal opinion the rest of it just seems generic laminate. all the best
