@@ieeee_. I read all the Riordanverse books, I read all the extra books, I read everything about Percy Jackson about curiosities, facts and everything else and I followed the production of this series since the day it was announced

This couldn't be more divergent from what the show actually is, he's not imagining, his brain was trying to make sense of the things he saw when everyone around him kept saying they weren't real 😂 humans couldn't see anything because of the mist so they made him feel crazy ALL HIS LIFE 😢
It doesn't explain why the mom was crying, but it makes the audience assume she is worried that her own son is going through so much when she knows the truth and everything what's ahead of him.
And also, she's crying in the rain because she feels comforted by it. As she said, she met his father at that beach house and it's always rainy and windy there - so it's kinda nostalgic for her as New York can have distinct weather.

Sally is comforted by the rain (you'll know more). She stayed with "Smelly" Gabe to hide Percy's scent from potential monsters.
The teacher is a Fury Greek Gods stories are so myth if you look into it. Also as child Hercules movie is Greek thing too. Another 2 tv show's called Hercules: The Legendary Journeys with Kevin Sorbo and Xena: Warrior Princess with Lucy Lawless that with Greek Mythology.
It was a book first. Then two movies and now the tv series. It is Greek Mythology. Peruses back in Mythology was the one that killed Medusa that could turn people into stone. The biggest game that might give a little history is Assassin Creed Odyssey or the older God Of War Games. But on Netflix Other movies that give a bit look into Greek Mythology is 300 the movie. Also Troy Fall Of A City. Gladiator is another movie based in Greek Mythology.
