Okay man. Congratulations. You nailed it. I saw Brian Mc Knight perform in Barbados in 1998, I believe it was.
I actually wrote a review for the main daily newspaper as l was a staff reporter back then. There were logistical problems which the promoters experienced that threatened to make the whole affair shambolic and l remember writing about this and saying that Mc Knight's performance in spite of all this, made it all worthwhile.
He was that good. Reminded one of Stevie Wonder everytime he opened his mouth.
So Fabio is in very good company. One of these days I wouldn't mind seeing him in concert as well.

Yeah, 30 years ago they would have. Today, everyone is so busy with their day to day lives to just listen and enjoy. Gotta, go to work, gotta cook, gotta do this or that. If we listen to ourselves we may very well use the words “I gotta” far too much.

This little snapshot is very telling ... here is a super-extraordinary talented guy performing an extraordinarily 'orchestral' piece of music flawessly, with just a guitar and his voice, and yet even the musicians packing up right beside him are not really listening ... nor are the many folks in the background who are walking right by ! If he was on America's Got Talent they'd all be screaming their heads off after each and every line out of his mouth ... the message? Music appreciation in the early 21st century is largely pretence ... the reality is that music is too accessible and too disposable, too undervalued and neither understood nor appreciated by the 'masses' who purport to be fans of it simply - now more than ever simply as an extension of their insatiable egos!

Eammon, would disagree with you on one point, the musicians packing up and not listening are in fact people who he busks with, search for the duets he does with them, he is extremely talented so are the others 😀, wish I could get to Dublin to see them live !

I would argue the opposite. He is excellent and very talented, but you can't say that as a fact about those people. There are a few (very few, mind you) pitch errors and minor losses of control in the song, and for some whose ears are extremely attuned to hearing pitch errors, it stands out when a small inaccuracy that the general public easily misses is heard. To those pitch experts, it makes their ears bleed to hear such inaccuracies, however few there may be.
Also, some people are just incredibly biased towards hearing it exactly as EW&F would sing it.
That was really cool. Not an easy song to sing.

You don’t have to know who Earth, Wind, and Fire is to know when you are hearing something beautiful and to appreciate it. Sometimes life can have us to busy to stop n smell the roses. We must slow down enough to take in the beauty and uniqueness that is in this World and in Us.From the forming of a butterfly to the gift in the vocal chords. It’s just amazing to me!!❤️ To me it’s more about this young mans gift than the song he chooses to sing. I think he wants the WORLD TO HEAR his gift!!!
