Thanks for this! I've just moved into a home with a mansfield (no side door, the 8011) and love the way it holds and lets go of its heat.

A question for you...I have a suspicion that the secondary system is not working properly. Have you cleaned yours out in any way? Any "tried" methods for doing so without taking too much apart? I took it apart to replace the baffle, but would prefer not to do that again unless I have to LOL

Wow, I bet that Mansfield generates a lot of heat; those are nice. We pay to have someone clean and inspect our soapstone stove and it hasn’t needed any service work yet besides a new spring for the side door; which I haven’t taken the time to replace yet. Sorry but I don’t have an answer to your question 😊

      Thanks!
If you are referring to the first song which has vocals; it’s called “One Day” and the artist is “Ten Towers”.
It’s commercial use was included with our Music subscription to “Epidemic Sound”.
      Stay tuned for more!

I’m looking to do a corner install also. Did you follow the manufacturer specs for clearances? I am concerned that the 8” corner spec wouldn’t leave enough room to open the side door. It looks like you have no issues using your side door.

    • @SilverLiningDayDreams
      @SilverLiningDayDreams  Год назад

Our insurance company required us to have the install done by certified techs so we had the company we purchased the stove from do the install. Our specs are probably going to be different than the newer model that recently came out. We have an extra inch or so for most of the specs I believe. If we could go back and change anything on the install it would be to give even more extra clearance room. This allows you to have options down the road of adding cement board and tile or brick or any other substrate on your wall behind the stove.
We have no issues using the side door 😊
We would recommend going little further away from walls than required 😊

My Hearthstone Heritage was installed yesterday and we had our first fire last night. Any tips on regulating the fire? When I closed the bypass door for secondary combustion, the temperature indicator rose into the "too hot" range. I closed down the air supply but it still remained too high so I opened the bypass door. So, I'm confused. If secondary combustion isn't used, soot and creosote build up, but using it makes the stove operate too hot. Not sure what to do.

That’s awesome, congratulations! You’ll love it.
Sounds like you have the newer model with the catalyst. Unfortunately I’m not as familiar with that one. I would suggest reaching out to the company you bought it from and they will be able to give tips on keeping it at the right temperature. Thank you and let us know how it goes!!

I read not to leave the ash bucket in the house, it can release carbon monoxide and other gasses, please remove. but at the same time be safe about it so it doesnt cause a fire! Ps. i showed your other video about the review about the soapstone stove to my wife, to convince her... working on it..

Thanks for watching out for our viewers safety (and for our safety). Much appreciated. At first, my wife didn’t want to invest in the wood stove. But after feeling how cozy it is; she will remind me to get the fire going when I let it go out for a period of time 😂
Hoping your wife will eventually see the value in a wood stove.
      Stay tuned for more 😊

Thanks for the tip, I've been leaving a bucket of ash in my house for like 2 months now. I won't anymore.

I'd be interested in a video on how to bank the fire so you don't have to restart every day.

Great idea! We’ve seen some videos of various ways to to do that; very interesting. I may take you up on that. Usually we are able to start the fire from left over coals in the morning. But once in a while we sleep in 😂

Have you considered this: "will there be long term health issues due to indoors fine dust particles and toxic gases coming out of the wood stove?" I am wondering this because I am also planing to use a wood stove on a daily basis

There definitely is some exposure to smoke when loading the wood burning stove with the door open. I’m more concerned with the ash that’s released in the air when cleaning the ash out of the stove as it seems that is more bothersome to me.
I guess it’s worth it to me to have some of that smoke and ash in here to be able to enjoy the warm, radiant heat and the beauty and vibe of having the wood burner with a large viewing window.
Honestly, I’m not sure what the risk would be with using wood burner but this is a good question that you raise. 😊

You can open the ash pan door for extra air.

Yes, thanks for the reminder as it hasn’t been on my radar. But one could open the ash pan door 😊

Oh my… sorry to hear that. Something with the install ?(chimney?)
      Defective stove?
      Curious what the cause is

Creosote buildup. Clean the chimney and don't burn wet wood.
