Every future challenge will need to have at least two paragraphs describing the constraints of the challenge in painful detail. Thanks, Sam and Joseph! XD
Or we needed JT to be Sam’s partner!
Some of the challenges are very poorly thought out. "Touch a bird"? First off most birds don't want to be touched so its cruel to touch them. Next the methods they use to round up the bird can traumatise the animal. Also what they're doing can be illegal in some countries - possibly even the one they did it in. Its just a big nono with wild birds. Some domesticated birds will let you touch them and will even walk up to you. But thats going to be incredibly difficult to find. Maybe a better card would have been "Find a pet store or zoo that has birds and feed a bird something?"
They are a snack review channel
Ben and Adam’s Singapore Airlines review was some quality content. If whatever they’re doing now doesn’t work out, I suggest they look into that line of work a little further.
I would watch an entire channel of airline food reviews.
There was also a pretty savage review of Ozark

I wish these kinds of series weren't as expensive as they are. They're super fun!
Agree. Would love to see more of these on youtube
I think a good brand sponsor could help fund this series, on top of nebula. I'd be happy to see any sponsor to get more of this show!
I hope they can catch a sponsor that is willing to give them a decent budget maybe.
@@Dameworth three words: raid shadow legends
Nebula is a big help funding these, definitely consider watching on Nebula if you want to support the show!
I wish season 2 had more reactions to the challenges - Sam teased the reaction that Ben and Adam would have upon landing in Singapore to a bunch of challenges being taken, but we never got to see it. This would have also led to the teams realizing "ah ha, they are in X city" and thinking about what the other team is doing. I liked how season 1 had more of that with the video sharing and reactions to each other's moves.
if they had to video call the other team to let them know they completed a challenge like in connect 4, it would be a much bigger hint on where they are because the other team could probably be able to tell what time of day it is and locate where in the world they are based on that
@@EpicGamerzism they also had the option to send a video if I'm not wrong. They could have done that
The problem is everything is handheld filmed, so it depends on the other team knowing when to be filming. If they were just checking a Google Sheet document of the challenge and saw that the challenges was completed, I wouldn't be surprised Ben/Adam didn't think to film that as it seems too mundane. And Sam had no idea whether their reactions will be filmed when he made that comment. And it may not be easy to cut that comment out in post-processing if it made that scene not flow as well since they don't exactly have a lot of extra footage.
@@EpicGamerzism the thing of video call is that it's easy in the US to just have mobile internet and call like that, around the world or they need a pretty expensive roaming or both being at a spot with wifi conection, they probably will have some sort of comunications on the rest period.
Knowing where the opponents are also matters a lot less this season. Conne t 4 is adversarial and you can block your opponents. In circumnavigation, you just go as fast as you can on your end and don't really care about the other
The later half of the Amsterdam challenges feel like when your parents tell you to go outside and get some exercise, but you just sit in the front lawn and pick at grass.
I disagree heavily with the idea that instead of going up a 152m hill you can climb a smaller one multiple times. Finding such a hill is kind of a big part of the challenge, and obviously that's very hard when you're in the Netherlands.
For the future, such a challenge should be formulated as "at whatever altitude above sealevel you start at, you have end at altitude xxx m higher than that".
should of been spoecified then
Agreed. Also, a go cart has a motor.
a clear violation of the spirit of the challenge.
@@tomturley3786 I disagree with the go-kart thing, I think the intention of the challenge wasn't something with a motor because that would be super expensive and complicated to build. It was specific about what else needed to be on it and a motor wasn't on the list. But Sam and Joseph in this episode were really pushing it, with the altitude and the fountain.
the hill climbing one said “to a high point” and I think that disqualifies their approach to that challenge
It's a bad challenge, because I would consider that a high point but see why others wouldn't. To me "a high point" is relative, and especially in the Netherlands that weird mound thing was noticeably higher then the surrounding area. But objectively on the scale of geographical mountains and hills it's not high
Taken literally, that challenge was completed.... doesn't really make it look any better though!
@@CaptNSquared I feel like it was against the spirit of the challenge, as was their approach to the fountain, and arguably the parkour video
Yeah, I definitely don't think they ascended high enough. They just went up and down a short distance multiple times, when they were clearly supposed to go up a long distance once.
Yeah a few of their interpretations seemed lazy and not in good faith.
Imagine how confused everyone in the park was when they were trying to feed the birds
And people wonder why other countries hate American tourists. They do crazy stuff like this all the time.
There actually was a "bird feeding forbidden" sign in one shot haha
@@simvalue which one?
@@simvalue Well then, turns out it's another Crime Spree!
Yeah, I could imagine the confusion and anger as they watch Sam & Joseph feed the birds to get them close, then chase the birds away in a attempt to get a touch of bird. lol

I gotta say, some of Sam and Joseph's "completed" challenges are a little suspect.
their parkour video seemed to be the opposite of parkour
@@erikboydston4476 Assuming both of them don't know what parkour is originally, the definition you get when you google parkour is definitely open to interpretation as it just says "to go from Point A to Point B without equipment".
@@MizuRyuu that's fair, I was just saying that jogging in between cars and doing a small jump isn't really parkour haha. I definitely see where you're coming from and I just think it's silly how much Sam and Joseph bent the rules when they almost certainly knew what parkour is
@@MizuRyuu yeah I mean parkour is also called free running, it’s really the concept of moving through your environment freely, not a specific activity
That’s what I’m sayin. L Script
You have one team interpreting the challenge requirements as loosely as they can to complete them, while the other snipes a big budget item. Enjoyable content
I’m curious which one will end up working best
@@MrZorx in reality they should be stuck in Netherlands lol. they shouldn't be even be able to compete in Asia on next video.
Even sitting on a plane for the majority of the episode Ben and Adam keep me entertained. I need that spinoff. The game just keeps getting more and more exciting. I can't wait to see what happened when Sam and Joseph make it to Singapore. Thanks as always for all your hard working putting together this amazing series. You make me so happy.
Ye there's like no way they get enough money to fly to Australia and then US. But they kinda cheat with the challenges so maybe they can cheese some out.
I think Sam and Joseph are really stretching these challenges
They straightup cheating
It feels like cheating. The other team made sure they were doing it correctly. It’s not entertaining watching them cheat at it
Doesn’t really make them any more likable. Especially against Adam and Ben.
@@Pankkeli Yeah, at the beginning I did have a slight bias for Ben and Adam, but now I just despise the other team.
@@peyuko5960 I think the whole series would be better if it was a competition against the clock not Sam and Joseph.
Poor Sam, I've been watching his stuff for 3 years and then he just gets upended in my heart by Ben and Adam
Lol I know. They make him seem like such a dick with how sweet and fun they are.
Turns out they've been behind it all along. We just never saw it.
Same. With Crime Spree, I was team Sam all the way, but now I'm firmly in the Ben & Adam camp.
lol well Adam and ben are actually the writers of Sam videos that we all listened foe years so if you liked the videos you liked them too lol, and they are editors too, Sam is the Narrator (the front face) that's why more people know him but now many people recognize adam and ben bc of this series, after they spent years working behind the scenes
Sam and Joseph take a challenge, bend the rules so much that it's something completely different. Meanwhile Ben and Adamn pick a card and just do the actual challenge is the reason why they really should win. They're carrying this show format.
Yes! Ben and Adam actually have some respect for the rules. I feel like Sam cares way too much about winning lol
I can sort of understand the fountain thing as the only reason it wouldn't have otherwise worked is because the fountain they started at was turned off, so they could have conceivably done the exact same thing in the other direction
the ascent card is half about finding a place where you can do it, so it just feels cheap
@@thewingedporpoisethey really shouldn't have done the parkour nor the 500 feet. Just neither feels right at all.
I mean they wrote the rules so it seems unlikely that they would try to create a different interpretation of the challenges when they themselves probably tried to eliminate ambiguity when writing it.
I agree with every word
Climbing without touching pavement was definitely changing the rules
I think having an umpire of sorts would be great for any future seasons as some challenges completed weren't actually completed, the fountain one and the 500ft ascent. Would make the game fairer and better entertainment to actually find a hill or two fountains.
Exactly.
Yeah you’d think there should be one because there isn’t any one to say they didn’t get it.
really they just have to be more specific in the challenge guidelines.
@@evenfisher0188 I mean, I guess? But a couple of these, like running up the hill, seem like common sense.
I agree having a third-party decision maker would be good. But I see no problem in having a broad reading of the challenges as long as both teams are afforded the same leeway.
For those confused, Ben and Adam used the remainder of their budget at around 2:24 to book a flight out of Singapore for continuing travel rules. That’s why they are totally broke now and how they were able to travel to Singapore. They don’t plan to use that flight at all though.
It's probly just the cheapest flight they found which likely is to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Just about 300km away so not even far enough to reset the challenge multiplicator while getting them neither enough distance nor closer to Denver.
So it basically would just be time wastes they could spend better either in Singapore or on a longer flight to get somewhere meaningful.
Thank you! I was confused
why didnt they just book a bus to malaysia it wouldve been wayyy cheaper
@@jana31415 based on some random internet guide, it's not guaranteed to be accepted as proof of onward travel - while paying for a plane ticket is more certain to work
What happened to the "You can't book within 2 hours rule?" Ben and Adam definitely booked within that 2 hour timeframe? Am I missing something?
Calling that parkour should be a crime
Definitely need to bring back sending videos to each other every time you do something because it brings in more interactions. Also a referee/narrator character would be a fun inclusion and a great way to make challenges more objective to stop rule breaking. They could also introduce twists that keep the competitors on their toes.
Considering all the footage is handheld, I doubt they have the budget to book 1 more person on each team (2 extra people in total). I think the current approach of Ben/Adam writing all the challenge, while Sam/Joseph have leeway to interpret them is the best they can do with their budget/constraints.
@@MizuRyuu I agree with them just using their best judgment for completing challenges rather than having an independent judge (would maybe be different if there were time to judge them between legs, but given this ties directly into their travel budget, that is impossible here)... But there's being "close enough" or accidentally not fully completing a challenge, and there's what they did with the fountain and climbing challenges, which was blatantly not within the rules.
@@MizuRyuu you're interpreting someone having to be there, instead of sending a video and saying "this cool"
@@technetium9653 And you would have to have a person free to review these things at any given time. Especially after they left North America, any request would come in the off-hours. And they would need the answer quick if they are going to be making flight reservation with the prize money.
@@MizuRyuu these guys have friends internationally, one guy in NA one guy in Europe one guy, in India, one guy in the Pacific and they'd have their bases covered, hell they could have a roledex of people who say they're cool with being called and call anyone of them
I’d love to see a video that’s “the logistics of planning a global circumnavigation contest”. I’m so curious how you plan this?!?
I suspect there isn’t much logistics involved. By the look of it, they didn’t hire any camera operators for the circumnavigation contest as teammates filmed each other and they applied for visas on the go unlike the Amazing Race which handled all the visa issues beforehand. What’s more the very concept of this contest, that is planning trips and earning money under the budget and time constraints, defies attempts to plan the trip ahead as air fare fluctuate greatly. I do suspect that their contest was inspired by The Amazing Race (TAR). And they should definitely do an episode on the logistics of TAR which is extremely complex.
I mean, there’s not really much planning involved. They make up the rules and find people to play, it’s not like they hired cameramen or planned out much in advance besides looking at google flights for an hour or 2 to try to find an idea of a trip plan
@@staycgirlsitsgoingdown2 dude they have a whole simulation and all. It'd be so dope to see the inner workings of that!
They have an interview with WIRED where they talk about it.
You just study the flight routes. After a while, you get the gist of it, which connections are more doable, less expensive and more practical. I've done a simulation travelling to a country in each continent. It turns out it is not as dificult as it might seem (having the money and time to do so). From New York is easier to get to Europe (and from there you can go down to Africa or the middle east in less than 8 hours. You can also do what they did and travel directly to Southeast Asia, a longer trip). From Asia, the best choice to get back to the states is flighting back to LA.
There're some hubs which connect you almost anywhere in the world in no time. Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Rome, Amsterdam, Casablanca, Rabat, El Cairo, Dakar, Istambul, Tel Aviv, Dubai, Doha, Riad, Mumbai, Singapore, Shangai, Beijin, Tokio, LA, New York, Boston, Montreal.
Ben and adam need a spinoff channel
Ben and Adam need a channel. Or at least be in some Hai or Wendover videos.
@@jonjanson2 I desperately must know how Adam would personalize his words into HAI voiceover rather than hear Sam read his words.
I love how Sam had to spend like several hours at the airport in Amsterdam and the Ben and Adam literally had 45 minutes to get to their flight to Singapore and they still made it
Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) has a employement problem, so queues of 4 hours aren't a exception
probably the difference between covid regulations in the netherlands vs italy
@@thijsvons2510 In a past episode Sam was uploading a video from two months ago which was a long time before problems arose at Schipol
Speaking of Schiphol Airport; this video (specifically the bit from 18:48 onwards) is actually the first time I've ever seen what the front entrance at Schiphol looks like, despite being Dutch and having flown from Schiphol plenty of times. I just always arrive by train, and the train station is directly underneath the terminal building, so you just go up the escalators from the platform and you're already inside the airport. Never gone through the front door in my life. 😄
It's basically plot convenience but in real life.
when i watched both Sam and Joseph religiously back in 2017 and had no idea what their faces looked like, I never would have imagined watching them awkwardly chasing birds around Amsterdam a few years later
I really want to see how they navigate customs. “Sir, why are you flying into Singapore and departing so soon?” “Race around the world!” These people don’t have the same pull as, say, The Amazing Race. Good luck trying a quick turnaround in somewhere like Japan, Canada, or Australia. Customs be like, “this is sus.”
Noel Philips already did that in India
How did Adam’s team enter Singapore without onward travel booked?
@@Anonymity4LDAF They booked a dirt cheap flight out of Singapore at the same time, one that they didn't intend to fly.
@@sorenstudios ah. I missed that. Makes sense. I didn’t understand at the time what the second cost to the budget was.
I guess the conect 4 video gives enough credibility
As much as I'm enjoying this series, I feel Sam and Joseph are making up the rules as they go and judging challenges completed to suit their efforts.
Honestly Sam and Joseph shouldn’t have gotten the ascend 500 feet challenge
It isn't like Sam/Joseph have anyone to clarify the challenge and once they did it, it isn't really possible to take it away since by the time they get around to editing the show, Sam/Joseph already made flight purchases on the assumption they got the money from the challenge.
@@MizuRyuu Sam and Joseph surely knew what the challenge actually meant but decided to bend the rules because they really wanted the money. They're not dumb bruh. They know they cheated
There was nothing on the challenge that said you couldn’t just climb a hill like 30 times also it’s very hard to find a high point in Amsterdam cause it’s one of the lowest countries so think it counts
@@Discordisnotagoodthing by using stupid logic like that you could complete any challenge. If there is no hill in Amsterdam they should've gone for another challenge.
@@AbhishekBM all the rules said was that you had to do it on foot and they did so therefore it counted
I feel like Ben and Adam are playing way more fairly where Sam and Jospeh are pushing the limits. It doesn’t feel very in spirit of the game
Eh, that's always going to be a thing in any game that includes challenges. There's a lot of people with 'game theory's minds that try and find loop holes to finish things faster or with less effort.
I don't know if it's really going to matter, they're going to get to Singapore and have to either win a paintball game, or ride a rollercoaster for 3 miles to get the money they need to their travel plans, and hope the other team doesn't also do those big money tasks while they're in the air.
It would have been way more fun to watch them running around Amsterdam looking for a proper fountain, rather than the way they did it. Whether or not it's technically cheating doesn't matter, it makes the video less interesting.
@@Erolith Okay, but ignoring the "to a high point" criterion in the climbing card should have completely invalidated that attempt. They're not even bending the rules, they're completely disregarding what's actually written.
I feel this way about the latest episode in their new series as well. Sam should've definitely touched an animal instead of going for the "technical" definition and touching a human instead.
@@chrispy0111lol yea, but the guys were fair about it. Saying "we should have accounted for that" meaning that he's technically right, but it's definitely not in the spirit of the intent
There should be a single-use card that allows each team to “wellllll technically this thing that’s clearly not the spirit of the challenge isn’t prohibited” ONCE. because that type of clever thinking is interesting to hear discussed, but when a team does it over and over in a short period of time it’s irritating. i think this head-to-head format really requires all the players to be likeable, and weird meta gaming is exactly the opposite.
Yeah, I expect to see a rule like that implemented in the next season. The good thing is, the show will keep improving as it fixes these holes.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels.
I got so nervous thinking ben and adam wouldnt get the tickets lmao
"That was Prozac btw"
Ben and Adam are hilarious dude
The real cliffhanger is, will Sam & Joseph's content on board a Singapore Airlines flight be as entertaining as Ben & Adam's?
There's no way. Ben and Adam just have natural talent when it comes to eating airline food.
I’ve been rooting for Ben and Adam the whole time, but even more so after seeing Sam and Joseph basically cheat a bunch of those challenges...
I am completely with you for this
they didnt cheat at all lol. they completed the challenges under the rules
@@loganb7081 even if that's the case they did it in a lame way and are actively making the series un-entertaining
@@loganb7081 16oz. of water in a 1/2 oz bottle is really cheesing the rules. They should have just filled the rest of the bottle with rocks.
@@jasonrundle3372 Okay, I can agree with some of these completions being cheesy, but how was the trash one bad? The water bottle was trash even when half-filled. You wouldn't go using it and/or drinking the water out of it, would you? As far as I'm concerned they did that challenge exactly as intended and happened to find a particularly heavy piece of trash.
Sam and Joseph are really stretching the completion criteria.
Sam's team could have simply gone to the nearest city from Amsterdam by train to do challenges at full value!
Yeah, that's what shocked me. A train to the nearest city, especially in the Netherlands, is $20 in the worst, worst case, and I'm amazed only you pointed it out.
Any train probably would have taken way longer and going the required 300 miles for only 2 challenges just to come back probably wasn’t worth it
@@DanCojocaru2000you need to travel more than 300km away which wouldn’t be very easy or quick by train or even flights within europe. and then you would only get a benefit of one or two challenges.
Ben and Adam are without a doubt the best travel tubers I've ever watched
Need a disinterested 3rd party to be available via phone for challenge/rules consultation.
I don't know why these videos were put into my recommendations, but this show is so great to watch! Educational reality TV, I'm all about it. Also Ben and Adam are so fun! I hope they'll continually be apart of all future games that come out on this channel.
I hope you guys do something exploring just one city more extensively. Maybe the two teams would have to roll for a random city in the world, and each try to accomplish the same set of goals in the city they were assigned, and see who can get the most points.
Yeah, it was disappointing how few places they actually ended up exploring. They visited more places in season 1.
In the future, they should have some impartial third party judge the challenges to make sure they’re actually complete. Like, the team doesn’t get the money until the judge says “yes, that’s legit”. There’s too much wiggle room to cheat as it is now.
When I watched the first episode I was wondering if a valid strategy would be to start off by completing all the challenges, so that when the other team arrives in Europe there aren't any left.
Technically valid yes, but a few would be literally impossible (non-US maccas item for example, and likely bungee). I’m curious if they did maths early to prove that even if all the challenges were completed in one city if that would leave enough money to feasibly complete the journey, or if it’s entirely possible for both teams to just run out of options
as someone who was just on a jfk to singapore flight, i can relate to ben and adam's descent into madness. that flight is way way too long

Sam is the dude that always bends the rule to his advantage but won't let anyone else do it.

Ben and Adam deserved that break of accidentally taking Sam and Joseph's idea, after all of that rules lawyering.
More than 3 episodes? Y'all are getting fancy. Love it.
From what I saw on Nebula (episode 4); I'd guess we will be granted with at least 6, probably 7, maybe even 8 episodes of the circumnavigation.
@@torbenmayer I’d say two more episodes: episode 5 will be Ben and Adam in Oceania and the gamblers losing all their money before realizing Taipei would have been a much better place to fly to than direct to California.
Episode 6 will most likely be the race back to the States since a flight between California and DEN isn’t expensive especially on Frontier or Southwest, therefore once back in the US it will be easy to get back to the start.
It would be great to see a series like the American states connect 4 but with European countries/countries in the EU! Also, the setting would help diversify transport methods used (e.g. trains)
There is a huge problem with doing it in Europe, it’s incredibly easy unless they make certain countries unavailable, European countries have far more abnormal shapes and there are tons of really small ones, it’s basically the exact reason for why the east of the us (specifically north east) we’re banned from the game
@@katiequeen7225 Good point. Maybe it could be measured within a certain radius from the centre of the country? And of course, countries like Liechtenstein would have to be banned as it would take only half an hour to get 3 countries (Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria).
Dang, you guys are stretching the technicalities of rulings on those challenges lol.
Sam guy is a bit of a goof
What if you guys do a challenge where you have to go to like 4 randomized coordinates? It would require many forms of transportation which could be fun

I think Sam and Joseph would have had much better chances if they prioritised bigger reward challenges first. They took so many big rewards at 25% in Amsterdam 😅
As someone who has lived in Singapore for a bit, I was so excited when y’all went to skypark bc I was literally also there before

Absolutely loving this series!!!! I get so excited whenever I see a new episode drops and this is absolutely my favorite show I’m watching rn
I can concede the fountain one as valid. The high point one felt in poor taste.
Just one of them on its own wouldn't have been that bad, but both back-to-back just feels like poor sportsmanship. And then add on the "parkour" video
Anyone else really want to do this? Wish I had the cash to afford something like it.
You can do this on a much smaller scale inside your city or state maybe, just gotta rework it to make it work on a smaller scale
I think my personal version would be to circumnavigate the planet for the lowest budget I can manage, staying a certain amount of time in each place I visit. I don't have a youtube channel so it wouldn't have to be quite so elaborate. It would still be thousands of dollars at least...
Back when Crime Spree was on Nebula, someone suggested in the comments that they should do a season with audience members. Got a lot of upvotes. I imagine the cost and liability will make that a massive headache though.
I know Sam has said publicly (I believe on a WIRED interview) that he doesn’t want his fans doing this on a large scale (with planes). He is less against people doing it within smaller areas like cities and provinces.

You can get chocolate milk in the us with a happy meal I think, but you still did eat the other stuff that you can’t get in the us
Chocolate milk can definitely be bought in the US. I’m amazed they thought that may be able to count for that challenge, but then again, they basically just cheated on some of the other ones so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
These are so good. In fact, so good that I am now compelled to sign up for Curiosity Stream/Nebula. Well played.
I love how Ben and Adam are stressed and running and trying to catch the flight to Singapore, while Sam and Joseph are touching a bird and visiting a casino.
Really nice concept!! I love these challenges!
Also, so good that "picking up trash" is one of the challenges. Really a coincidence that you're doing that at the exact spot where i've gone "fishing for plastic" on a boat through the Amsterdam canals!! On a boat, armed with a scoop-net and then to pick up all the trash that people throw in the canals. Let's all keep the world a cleaner place!
Maybe I just misunderstood, but for the gambling challenge I think they did the 1/4 value backwards. They started with 1/4 of the challenge budget, instead of adding 1/4 of the winnings to their travel budget. I kind of get why they did that, but I feel like the point of the 1/4 value was to make it really hard to do more than 2 challenges!
just watched episode 4 on nebula and i am absolutely loving this series. its bringing me back to the old days of watching The Amazing Race with my parents. highly recommend more shows like this on the channel
I just recently discovered this channel and now I'm just binging the whole show, it's so entertaining!!
Looks like Sam and Joseph AREN'T going bungee jumping in Singapore!!!! Adam and Ben for the win!!!!!
This channel is the new channel I look forward to posting every week once something is up and ready
Becoming my favourite channel. Keep it up!
Season 2: 100 hours to circumnavigate the globe
Season 9: 100 hours to find Adam in a castle, Ben under a playground slide, and Sam in the middle of the forest
Again, you’re not selling me on Nebula with just one new episode. Put the whole series on there in one go and I’ll sign up immediately.
Big. Facts.
Yes but spoilers
Ye. They did one series which was only nebula on this which was exclusive I think, but after my subscription ended it didn’t seem worth it to keep going. No comments section is actually really annoying.
It's $20 a year. I think if you were going to sign up you would regardless. You get to see everything everyone does ahead of it being posted on YT. If that's not worth $20...
YES I LOVE THIS SERIES
Excellent content, so glad is finally seems to be gaining some good traction!
I gasped when the episode ended. Had to run to Nebula to watch the next one... gasped when THAT ONE ended. Y'all are killing it!!
